  1. I'll be pleasantly surprised if the Tigers don't score.
  2. Ok, ok. Insurance run wouldn't hurt. Cabrera due up 4th in the 9th. I'd rather he get his next AB against Peavy.
  3. Big K. Don't do it, Peralta.
  4. Gotta like Cabrera leading off the 8th.
  5. KC--1st and 3rd, nobody out. Great AB for Francouer
  6. It would be great if KC beat the Tigers tonight. If that happens, the Sox could lose 2 of 3 and still have a 2 game lead with 29 left. 0-0, top 4

  8. When is Youkilis's wife due? I know that's coming up too. Hopefully it's after the next couple weeks.
  9. Sox are already in Detroit. Get sleep.
  10. Starting tomorrow, here are the next 4 series for the Central/Wild card contenders. Pretty exciting stuff coming... A's- vs Bos, vs LAA, at Sea, at LAA Sox- at Det, vs Min, vs KC, vs Det Orioles- at NY, at Tor, vs NY, vs TB Rays- at Tor, vs NY, vs Tex, at Bal Tigers- vs Chi, vs Cle, at LAA, at Chi Angels- at Sea, at Oak, vs Det, vs Oak If the Angels are going to get back in it, they have to beat Oakland. The Orioles are going to be tested. The Rays could go either way. And the Sox and Tigers will probably tread water the rest of the season, and the team that's breathing at the end, will win the division.
  11. Sox 18-18 vs the AL East, 9-9 in interleague. Dominating the AL West 20-9, and it's time to dominate the AL Central in the final 25 games with those four teams.
  12. Get used to more 4-game series next year. Based on the phillies schedule I saw, there will be 19 games against the division teams, so one of those series will be 4-game. There will be 11, 4-game series, including one that's 2 home/2 away against the Cubs.
  13. TB comes to Chicago for 4 the last weekend series. And the Tigers
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 01:58 PM) Hey stat lovers ... it seems to me the Sox almost always suck in 4 game series on the road. What is the Sox record in 4 game road series compared to other contenders? Except for Seattle or somewhere like that, don't the Sox always faceplant in 4game road series? A split in a 4-game road series is cause for a parade. vs Bal 1-3 vs Bos 1-3 at Cle 2-2 at NY 2-2 at Bos 1-3 at Tor 3-1 at Bal 1-3, barring a miracle finish
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 01:47 PM) flavum, I see the Sox as missing Diamond next week. Where did you see they'd face him. I thought he was serving a 6-game suspension for throwing at Hamilton. I may have assumed he'll be back by then. I hope they do miss him.
  16. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 01:39 PM) So you've enjoyed this series? We might be fighting this team for a playoff spot and we've taken a giant s***. The new format is going to penalize the wild card a lot more. The odds a wild card team wins the extra game and then wins a best-of-5 has gone way down, and that will be proven over the next 10-20 years. So unless the Sox win the division, I really don't give them much of a chance anyway.
  17. Since the Tigers swept the Sox in July: Sox 22-12 Det 17-16 Everyone chill.
  18. I haven't gone through this thread very closely, so if I'm repeating this, sorry... They need to start Santiago on Monday, and Axelrod on Tuesday. Skip Quintana a turn. He's spent. Also, sign Bedard or just somebody. Because if Sale is bad on Sunday with lower velocity, he needs to be skipped too.
  19. Robin on Dan Patrick Show: http://www.danpatrick.com/2012/08/30/robin...s-expectations/
  20. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) eligible to come back September 4th. So they'll probably start a lefty against the Twins. Santiago better not suck.
  21. So is Axelrod eligible to start September 3?
