  1. I may be wrong, but I think Hawkins plays at least a couple months at Kanny next year, with little chance at Birmingham by the end. There's no rush unless they're trying to sell the public that he's the next Trout/Harper, which he probably isn't.
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 12:31 PM) Does 6-2 constitute a slump? Or do we just like fat chicks? If they lose tonight, that's 6-6 in the last 12. I'd rather see it go 7-5, and in the process, give one of the teams we're in competition with, a tick in the loss column.
  3. Just keeps them playing. Doesn't even mean they'll be with those same teams to start next season.
  4. Zach Stewart gets to face the Angels tonight.
  5. 3-game winning streak, please. 5-game is preferred, but I'll settle for 3.
  6. I like Court. I like Hawk. Either is fine.
  7. Marcus Stroman, 1st rounder of the Blue Jays, suspended 50 games.
  8. I put the schedule breakdown in the MLB Catch All, but for all of the complaining Hawk has made about 2-game series....four of them, 2 of which are within the city limits, isn't excessive. 2-game: 4 (2 of which are back-to-back) 3-game: 38 4-game: 10 Could be worse.
  9. I posted that the Sox go to Philadelphia next July right before the break, but the overall breakdown looks to be this: 19 games vs your 4 division teams (76 games) 6 games vs 4 league opponents 7 games vs 6 league opponents 33 total games vs the other two divisions (66 games) The Sox and Cubs will play 2 home/2 away as a 4-game series. Sox play the NL East---one of which will be 2 home and 2 away. The other 4 will be 3-game series. (20 interleague games) Opening Day will be Monday, April 1, and the season will end Sunday, September 29. So we're back to the season ending on Sunday, instead of mid-week. Expect more off days during the postseason as safety nets for tie-breakers and rainouts. It's going to suck.
  10. http://twitpic.com/and8q7 Somebody leaked the Phillies schedule for next year. Sox go there next July 12-14 right before the All-Star Break.
  11. Dewayne Wise CF, Kevin Youkilis 3B, Adam Dunn DH, Paul Konerko 1B, Alex Rios RF, A.J. Pierzynski C, Dayan Viciedo LF, Alexei Ramirez SS, Gordon Beckham 2B, (Chris Sale P)
  12. 2 quality starts and two wins this week, one against Verlander, would go a long way to his chances. No pressure or anything, but tonight is the biggest start of his career, and Sunday will be even bigger.
  13. Sox 71-56 Bal 70-57 Oak 70-57 TB 70-57 Det 69-58 Sox have played well enough to have the opportunity to keep playing well. Who's going to have enough over the next 35 games?
  14. All things considered with this game, we pretty much deserve to lose. You can dodge bullets for so long. Now...Viciedo hits a bomb this inninig.
  15. Holy s***, we're going to get away with one tonight, aren't we?
  16. Charlotte- Heath http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...syraaa_chraaa_1 Birmingham- Petricka http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...biraax_hunaax_1 Bristol- Olacio http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...brlrok_brirok_1 Great Falls- Parrent http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...gjrrok_grfrok_1
  17. Deunte Heath is starting for Charlotte tonight in place of Axelrod. Read into it what you will. Could just be coming up for bullpen while Humber or Santiago starts Wednesday.
  18. So after tonight, the rotation is: 1. Sale - at Bal, at Det, vs KC, vs Det, at KC, vs Cle, vs TB 2. Floyd's spot -at Bal, vs Min, vs KC, at Min, at KC, vs Cle, vs TB 3. Quintana- at Bal, vs Min, vs Det, at Min, at LAA, vs Cle, at Cle 4. Peavy- at Det, vs Min, vs Det, at Min, at LAA, vs TB, at Cle 5. Liriano- at Det, vs KC, vs Det, at KC, at LAA, vs TB, at Cle Sale there for 163. Peavy can pitch Game 2 of the DS if they don't have to play extra games. And now the best pitchers face the Tigers. Works for me.
  19. As long as the Sox come home with a 1-game lead, I'm happy. Unless they absolutely blow games.
  20. Cy- good thoughts. Axelrod is scheduled to start tonight, so we'll see if that happens. If they were going to set the rotation for Peavy to face the Tigers, they would have done it over the past couple weeks. Obviously things worked out well at home this past week, but I don't understand why they didn't give those guys an extra day around the KC series, and get Peavy to face Detroit twice. But that won't happen now. Maybe once as you said. As far as sending Quintana ahead to Detroit, the game is at 12:35 eastern on Thursday. He should be ok staying with the team. I do like that idea of starting somebody else on thursday, and having Q face the Tigers on Friday night.
  21. Saturday is Liriano vs Scherzer and Sunday is Sale vs Verlander. Friday is up in the air for both teams, but for now, it's Floyd vs Fister.
  22. Chen (no not that Chen) is still starting for the Orioles tomorrow. Tillman moved to Tuesday. After that...Saunders one of the other two.
