Santiagos's Screwball vs Guthrie's AL Rebirth
Could have a been a little early to pinch run for Konerko.

Santiagos's Screwball vs Guthrie's AL Rebirth
Against the Royals, I expect this to still be a 7-4 Royals win in 11 innings.

Santiagos's Screwball vs Guthrie's AL Rebirth
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 02:27 PM) Are we to assume the Royals will win the division next year based on their play against the Sox and their last series vs. Detroit? The Royals and Pirates are in the same category... Until they do it, they'll never do it.

Who would win in a poll for 3rd lefty in the rotation next year---Santiago or Quintana? Assuming Danks and Sale are healthy and in the rotation.

2012 AL Central Catch-All thread
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 12:43 AM) The Tigers seem to waste more quality starts by their staff than the White Sox. Tigers 78 quality starts. 55-23 (.705) Sox 75 quality starts. 53-22 (.707)

Santiagos's Screwball vs Guthrie's AL Rebirth
QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 12:39 PM) I don't love Ramirez in there today....he's 1 for 25 against Guthrie. I'd actually prefer a Lopez-Olmedo-Beckham infield, believe it or not. You got it. Olmedo is playing now because Alexei was late to the park today.

Which loss was most annoying/agonizing this year?
The Dodgers game when Quintana only went 70-some pitches through 8 innings. I knew that game was lost when he didn't come out for the 9th. That one stands out the most for me. The blown game in Oakland and the Cody Rross game also are up there.

2012 AL Pennant Chase
The way the Angels are playing now, I think the A's are about to finally hit the wall. 4 game series starts Monday at Anaheim. Then the A's come home for 3 against Baltimore, then hit the road: 3 at Tigers, 3 at Yankees, 4 at Rangers. Now, with the new format, would the Rangers dump games on purpose to the A's trying their hardest to keep the Angels out of October? Strategically, why wouldn't they? This is a potential issue for MLB.

AL Central Magic Number Thread
If the Sox go up 3 tomorrow and then immediately piss it away, so help me.... These next 5 days are going to be interesting to say the least. I'm not thrilled with the play of the Sox the last couple weeks, but the division is the division. Just gotta hope for the best the next few weeks.

Cy Sale vs Cy Chen
QUOTE (JoshPR @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 10:14 PM) How many games could the sox be up if they just beat the royals more often. We're 4-10 against the Tigers! 7-7 against them, and we're up 8 games after tonight.

Cy Sale vs Cy Chen
Beat Guthrie and win 3 of 4 against the Tigers, and I'll be back to thinking the Sox are a real playoff team.

The Division Race - Road to 90 Wins
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 12:19 AM) So if both teams go as ^ shown FROM NOW ON, they get to 89 wins? Correct. When I set it up, I had the Sox going 31-23 and the Tigers 33-21 in the final 54 games to tie at 91-71. They were going ok for a while, but neither team is playing very well. The Sox are leading the division with the 7th best record in the AL. The AL Central: Where you can play bad baseball and be treated like a Champion.

Game Thread 9/7
25 games left. This team looks like they have about 11 wins left in them. Just don't have enough pitching to rely on. And the hitting is homer or nothing.
