    Hawkins homered again. He's impressive.

Charlotte was up 9-0. Now 14-13 Charlotte, going to the 9th. I'll skip the stale joke of converting the team names to NFL teams.
  3. Nick Savio: "This is better than the White Sox winning the World Series". Is that a little weird to say?
  4. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 09:55 AM) Spiegel sounds like he thinks he knows better but can't outright say it because MLB shot it down for the moment, so he's begrudgingly dismissing it. It's the same tone of voice he would use when Cowley regularly guested on his show and said something that he vehemently disagreed with, but didn't bother pursuing it because he felt like it was't worth the trouble, there was no convincing him otherwise. It's one of those things where we probably don't know the whole story, and will never know it. All I know is that I'll be happy if AJ is in the lineup Friday night. As far as rumors, no player is above suspicion. No team is above suspicion. MLB made its bed in the 90's and early 00's, letting anyone do anything. And this is just bi-product of that era.
  5. I'm glad he'll be playing tomorrow night, if it doesn't rain. Rumors are rumors. I doubt the original person made it up out of nothing, but it's better to just let these things take their course until MLB or the Sox announce something.
  6. Yankees beat the Rays. Orioles lose too. That was fun while it lasted.
  7. If this happens, I really hope he doesn't play the, "I took a supplement that I didn't know had X in it" card.

Leesman outstanding. Wish Charlotte would lose and get him up too.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 08:35 PM) We had Pablo 2005* If we knew every member of the 05 Sox that was on something, we'd probably cry. Well maybe not cry, but you know what I mean. It's still rampant. They aren't as potent as they used to be with 55-70 homers, but guys still want to risk it. For me, I still want the Sox to win, but this would take away some enjoyment.
  10. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 08:19 PM) Tigers breaking it open in the 8th. Looks like it will stay a 1 game lead. They go on the road now for 10 games. 3 at Anaheim (they're heating up), 4 at Sox, 3 at Cleveland. When the Tigers leave Chicago, we need a 3-game lead.

All hell broke loose after Johnson gave up the hit that shouldn't have been. Oh well.
  12. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 07:41 PM) What hour? They went on the air around 4. It was within the first few minutes.

Erik Johnson gave up his first hit with 2 outs in the 6th right after the ump missed a strike 3 call.

Hawkins hit a homer, and I turned on the audio just now for the hell of it, and he made a nice defensive play.
  15. What's left to be said? The rumor is out there, and if something happens now, nobody will be surprised. Hope he's in the lineup Friday night.
  16. It's Gonzales, with an s.

  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) Why is it "not looking good"? Because sometimes where there's smoke, there's fire. All it takes is for one person to talk. And if something is under appeal, it could take weeks to come to a conclusion. There's plenty of time for rumors to go around. But hopefully there is nothing legit here. Time will tell, or not. Ok, I'm done talking about this.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 01:20 PM) Its amazing how many people are assuming this rumor from a guy who heard from a guy who works at the Score, is true. Now that we know Mark Gonzales heard the same thing, there has to be at least something to it. Remember, the SF beat writer apologized to Melky Cabrera for asking him about it in July. Then a month later, Cabrera was suspended.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 01:08 PM) If he tested positive, he'd be very unlikely to get a multi year deal. Hell, he'd still have games to miss starting next year. Could legitimately cost him $10 million. Yes, and to that end, I'm glad he got caught...if this is true. My feeling all season has been he's juicing to get his last big contract. Now he won't. And I think the Sox would break ties with him if he did fail a test.
  21. Mark Liptak over at WSI posted Mark Gonzales is saying he heard rumors last week too. I'm not surprised by AJ, and quite frankly, I didn't want him back next year anyway because he was probably going to get a multi-year deal from somebody, and I didn't want a 37-38 year old AJP on this team.
  22. Unless the rain is supposed to pop up later, it looks like all of main rain stuff is already east of Chicago.
  23. Supposedly the 2013 schedule will be released next Wednesday. September 12.
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 11:18 AM) If he asked, I guarantee AJP would say no. Why let that news out publicly until the last moment possible? Just to put him on the spot.
  25. I hope Mark Gonzales or somebody picks up on this, and flat-out asks him today if it's true he failed a test and it's being appealed.
