  1. 300 interleague games next year, up from 252. And they're really limiting it to one at a time the final 5 weeks. The final IL series of the season is Tigers at Marlins on Sep 27, 28, 29. Sox are done with interleague play on July 21.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 02:02 PM) Then all of a sudden you have a hot playoff team with Halladay/Hamels/Lee leading off the rotation. Watch out now. I'm sorry, but a team that sucked that bad for that long in the first half shouldn't be in the playoffs. The NL is such a joke. This is the one year I really hope the Braves win that game to get the four best teams in the playoffs. Even the Pirates...it would be cool, but they suck.
  3. Done with the Angels by May 19. Done with the Mariners by June 5. Done with the A's by June 9. Done with the Blue Jays by June 12. Done with the Rays by July 7. Plus 14 interleague games in the first half. All of this before the Sox play one game with the Tigers.
  4. The Sox and Tigers don't face each other until the week before the AS Break. That makes sense. They play 19 games between July 9 and September 22. Yeesh.
  5. 6. Holy tough road trips, Batman!!
  7. SHHHHH... Here it is.... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/schedule/s...s&year=2013
  8. ^ That is a mistake. The final game of the season next year is Sunday, 9/29. I bet we get Detroit.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 10:13 AM) Including the All Star break, 11 days off in the month and a half between the middle of July and end of August. They should be properly rested for the stretch run. I noticed the final day is a Monday, but I thought they said it would be Sunday, September 29. Seems this may be inaccurate. We'll see at noon. It would probably be a mistake to have your final day of the season up against Monday Night Football. I think a Tuesday or Wednesday would be better. Look how 2011 worked out on that Wednesday night. That worked out pretty well.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 09:59 AM) With the emphasis being on winning your division, beating your divisional teams seems like the best way to earn it. Yeah, I wish they would change the empahsis to being one of the top 5 teams in your 15-team league. But that's just me.
  11. Here's the Rays schedule... http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/rays/content..._medium=twitter 6 of their 19 off days are in August. WTF?
  12. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 09:47 AM) So they are changing from 18 games per year vs each division opponent to 19 games. That's 4 more games per year against division opponents. That's 2.5% of the schedule that is switching to division games. Hardly worth complaining about. I complain about 18 too. I hate the unbalanced schedule. I hate divisions. Especially now that 5 teams qualify for the playoffs.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 09:20 AM) Sept. 12th. First place 2 game lead. I'll take it every year. It feels like we're being led to the gas chamber. I just don't like how the rest of the Sox and Tigers schedules match up for the Sox. They have that edge, for whatever that's worth. I'm thinking a 2-game lead after this series, we'll lose Game 163 at Detroit. A tie after this series, we're dead meat. 4-game lead--we have a very good chance to win the division. In the end, if the Sox go 5-13 against the Tigers, we deserve to lose and they deserve to win. But if we're playing 19 games a year against these same 4 teams, you better damn well have rosters that can beat these teams if you intend to make the playoffs.
  14. MLB releases the schedule at noon (ct) today. They're going back to 19 division games, so it could be 10 games at Comerica next year. I seriously hate 76 division games. Especially since the Sox can't seem to beat them. If they don't have players that can beat these teams, then they have to change the players.
  15. I've been saying forever the Sox need at least a 3 game lead when the Tigers series is over. Since 3 isn't possible, it's going to have to be 4. These next two games, in my opinion, are must-win games. And if you don't think both are must-win, but also don't think the Sox can beat Verlander, then this game tonight is definitely a must-win game.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 11, 2012 -> 11:36 PM) The Phillies & Brewers are both only 4.5 games out of a wild card spot Now it's 4 games. Stl 75-67 - LA 74-68 1 Pit 72-69 2.5 Phi 71-71 4 Mil 71-71 4 Arz 70-72 5 How awful is the National league, by the way? There are 4 pretty good teams, a layer of crap, and then a bigger a layer of crap. Unless it's the Pirates knocking off the Braves in the Wild Card Game, I hope the Braves win that game.
  17. Kind of late in the game for this debate. He's got four more regular season starts and then he's either pitching in the playoffs or he's getting $4 mil to probably never pitch for the Sox again. Just hope for the best at this point.
  18. I'm pumped for a great Peavy start tonight. Let's get after it.

  20. I think Floyd should just go ahead and win 9 games in a row between now and November 1st. That would be swell.
  21. AL East-- NY 79-61 - Bal 78-62 1 TB 77-63 2 AL West-- Tex 83-57 - Oak 80-60 3
  22. When Sale beat Moore 1-0, and Dunn hit the homer. I liked that one.
  23. Quintana may have brought back my optimism. The Tigers have scored 6 runs in the last 4 games on the road. Need Peavy to keep it going,
  24. Great job by Quintana. I really didn't think he had it anymore. If he found his second wind and Floyd comes back strong Wednesday, my optimism may find its way back. Still gotta get those easy runs across home plate.
