Sept 29 Devil Rays @ White Sox: Memorial Day Pt. 2
Konerko is playing one more year with the Sox, and then he's playing hockey and golf fulltime. I think he sees the finish line coming.

Sept 29 Devil Rays @ White Sox: Memorial Day Pt. 2
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 04:48 PM) Is it bad? Wouldn't he get more than that on the open market? I don't know if teams trust him year-to-year. He has Saberhagen Syndrome. Good year/bad year.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) I don't think any teams would trade for Rios even if we give him away. I think that contract keeps him with the Sox like Soriano with the Cubs. Alex coulda hit .350 and nobody would have bitten this offseason I think. 2 years/25 mil. It's bad, but not that bad.

192 innings for Chris Sale. Nationals fans weep.

Sept 29 Devil Rays @ White Sox: Memorial Day Pt. 2
I wouldn't mind Flowers getting an opportunity to play himself into a regular catcher, but they better sign a good Plan B as a backup.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 04:32 PM) Back to the NL. No doubt. Fathom called it right...the Dodgers will overpay for Peavy. He'll get 3/42 or something ridiculous.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 04:27 PM) He should still be supporting his teammate that was definitely in the picture for top 3 coming into the game. He could have given him a shout out for future consideration, but Price, Weaver, and Verlander are ahead of him. Probably Rodney too.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 04:26 PM) Wow Peavy, what a dick. Names off a top 3 for Cy Young, and he doesn't mention his own teammate. Was he wrong?

Sale finishes with a 3.05 ERA. Good year. And he'll get better.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 04:18 PM) This is probably a strong jinx, but Omogrosso is more than "just" a Sept call-up. He's actually very decent and might take over that Crain role in the somewhat near future. I'm happy to have him as our long man. Yeah, I think they really like Omo. Good chance he breaks camp with the Sox next year.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 01:34 PM) That's a great point about the Hawk Show. It is entertaining most of the time, but Stone might feel like he's too good a baseball analyst to be a puppet. I still think the next team should be Hawk/Ozzie if Oz gets the boot. Oh god.

QUOTE (JoshPR @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 01:01 PM) Anybody noticing lately that hawk hadn't been calling Steve stonepony anymore? I think that was a year ago. Stone said he didn't like it on the radio, so Hawk stopped.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 03:17 AM) Broadcast tonight was awful. There's clearly something going on in the booth. It seemed out of place for Bernstein to ask Stone about coming back, so maybe it was based on hearing something that happened the night before Hawk missed a game. I'm not a Stone fan, but I think he'd be more passable as an analyst if he was with a more conventional PBP guy. Hawk is doing the Hawk Show, and in his mind, you're lucky to have the opportunity to sit next to him for three hours every day.

2012 AL Pennant Chase
Yankees have a one game lead on the Orioles. Orioles magic number over the Angels is 3 to clinch a Wild card berth. WC2-- Oak - LAA 2 TB 3 The Rays have to win 5 in a row, including sweeping the Orioles, and hope the Orioles lose one against Boston.

I'd like the Sox (or 670) to purge the entire broadcast crew. Rongey, Hawk, Stone, Farmer, and Jackson. They all need to go. All suck in their own ways.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 02:19 PM) Division leaders road records: NY 42-36 Det 34-41 Tex 43-35 Was 47-31 Cin 44-31 SF 43-32 The best teams win everywhere Unless you're the Tigers. Rangers and Yankees were good enough on the road, but dominated in their parks. The NL is top-heavy. So many crappy teams.
