  1. Last day AJ is in the Sox home clubhouse.
  2. So that's central time? Ok, I'll let Rory McIlroy know.
  3. 10-6 USA going into Sunday singles. They need 4.5 out of 12 to win. Poulter was money today.
  4. The Sox will go quietly while everyone is watching Bears/Cowboys.
  5. Moss hit a walkoff 3-run homer for the A's. None of the real contenders played bad in September. Well, one...
  6. Looks like Konerko will finish well under .300. He hit .250 or so for the last 4 months.
  7. Too bad Hawk didn't call this one. He may have had his wish to die in the booth.
  8. 1st and 3rd for Twins Thanks, Gardy. Florimon is the best you have in this situation?
  9. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 05:54 PM) Is anybody still watching this f***ing game? Golf. USA is kicking ass.
  10. First, I want the Braves to beat the Cardinals. I don't want them winning the second wild card in the NL, and then see them go to the World Series. Then I want the Nationals and Reds to play in the NLCS. As long as it's entertaining, I don't care who wins. AL--I'll be pulling for the Orioles, but other than that, just give me good baseball. I put aside the Tigers hate once the playoffs start.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 05:42 PM) I'm very interested in how Tank does next year. An uptick in his power numbers puts him in pretty dangerous territory. Since he hasn't finished the season on any particular hot streak, we'll see what can be gained just from being used to the grind, healthy, perhaps in better shape, and working on whatever he needs to work on skill-wise. I hope I'm wrong, but I think that guy is "what you see is what you get". This is him.
  12. Does a 4 mil buyout of Peavy's contract count toward this year's payroll, or next year's? How do they look at that? I have the Sox at 72.75 mil next year for 8 players. 82.25 if you include Floyd.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 04:59 PM) Hey, I've loved flavum's post about standings/upcoming schedule all year. Thanks. I always looked at the Tigers series in late August, the Sox needed to be at 73-57, and then go 18-14 the final 32. Turned out they didn't need to be that good, but they ain't getting to 18-14 either. Crappy end to a season, but there are some positive things about this team. Mostly that they can get rid of some these old guys over the next couple years, and they have some pretty solid offensive prospects.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 04:57 PM) Flavum, season over after Monday night? Probably. If they get eliminated during the Bears game nobody will know it, nor will they care.
  15. Konerko is playing one more year with the Sox, and then he's playing hockey and golf fulltime. I think he sees the finish line coming.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 04:48 PM) Is it bad? Wouldn't he get more than that on the open market? I don't know if teams trust him year-to-year. He has Saberhagen Syndrome. Good year/bad year.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) I don't think any teams would trade for Rios even if we give him away. I think that contract keeps him with the Sox like Soriano with the Cubs. Alex coulda hit .350 and nobody would have bitten this offseason I think. 2 years/25 mil. It's bad, but not that bad.
