They've pretty much taken the month of September off so what's one more game.

I was hoping to see Konerko get a hit in first AB tonight, and then be pulled from the game with a .300 average.

You can bet your ass that they will win the last two in Cleveland. They'll get clutch hits with RISP and the bullpen will be solid. Plus Addison Reed will look dominant with bottom of the 9th, 3 strike out performances.

 

And the Tigers will s*** the bed the next two games in KC, and the Sox will end up finishing 1 game out.

Because it isn't a cause-serious-future-damage type of injury, it is a nagging muscle thing, and he is on the verge of 100 RBI. With the team out of it, might as well play some minor leaguers, but also give guys a shot to hit some milestones if they are in reach.

Chicago cant even do that right. Only team that can leap frog them in the standings is Pittsburgh and the Pirates would have to go 2-0 and Chicago would need to go 0-2 for both to finish with identical records. Dont know how the tiebreak is decided on that for draft position.
