  1. So who is they mystery "lefty impact bat" that the Sox want to add? Cano? Mauer?
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 10:37 AM) Speaking of blinders, Kansas City has had one winning season in this century, and that was with 83 wins. Like the state they are from, you've gotta show me. They are perpetual losers until they prove otherwise on the baseball field. Baseball America rankings don't mean a damned thing. I agree with that. The Royals and the Pirates are in the same boat...until they actually win something, they're awful and it's dumb to pick them to win.
  3. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 08:03 AM) Did anybody watch the 30 for 30 movie 'You Don't Know Bo' Saturday night? I recorded it, but because the Heisman presentation ran over by 8 minutes, I didn't have the last 8 minutes of the movie, and that was right at the part where Bo started playing for the Sox. Just wondering what all was said/shown about his season with the Sox. It was pretty brief. Just that he signed with the Sox, and when he came back from the hip replacement, he hit a homer in his first game back...and they showed that.
  4. Opening Day- Sale vs Shields...fun.
  5. I think the Royals will be better in 2013, but for the long run they'll lose this trade. Kinda like that the AL Central teams are trying to get better. Force the Sox to do something even bigger if they intend to win 90 games next year.
  6. Michael Young to the Phillies is official.
  7. Documentary on Minnie Minoso is airing Tuesday at 10pm on Channel 11.
  8. Vance Worley and Trevor May to Minnesota.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 08:44 AM) Has there ever been a Winter Meetings with so few trades? Greinke and Hamilton are holding up the whole offseason, and they probably would have had more action if the Winter Meetings were next week and not this week.
  10. Hamilton to the Mariners is "close".
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 01:29 PM) Heyman tweets Chavez to the D Backs. Youkilis is going to end up a Yankee.
  12. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 12:57 PM) BREAKING: @scottmerkin Sox still have interest in Hannahan despite confirmed Keppinger deal That would be an interesting platoon, and may open up a possible Beckham trade to acquire a lefty bat if they don't get AJ back.
  13. QUOTE (Jillian Michaels' Abs @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 12:49 PM) The good news is that if the Sox non-tender Beckham in the next few seasons, Keppinger can slide over to 2b. I agree with the other posts saying Sox should sign a lefthanded hitting 3B to platoon. Mark Teahen is available. Teahen signed with the Dbacks. Pretty good deal for the Sox. Gives them flexibility around the infield.
  14. Napoli close to a deal with the Red Sox. Let's see what happens with Salty.
  15. I'll make one dumb prediction that won't come true...Sox will get RA DIckey.
  16. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 1, 2012 -> 09:49 AM) Chiefs player commits suicide at practice facility. Name hasn't been released yet. WTF. Rumor is LB Jovan Belcher.
  17. Humber avoided arbitration with the Astros. One year deal with an option for 2014.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 30, 2012 -> 11:21 AM) That tweet links to a Mark Gonzales Tribune article that has this paragraph: I deleted that as soon as I saw it's not Hannahan's own twitter account.
  19. They should acknowledge the 90's/early 00's were the wild west. The game itself was juiced. I'd put in guys like Clemens and Bonds, but if I felt like juicing got a player to big numbers like Sheffield, Sosa, and McGwire I wouldn't vote for them. It's a mess.
  20. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 03:52 PM) "The White Sox signed catcher Bryan Anderson and left-hander David Purcey to minor league deals, Eddy reports (on Twitter)." That only took 11 days to get confirmed.
  21. QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 01:04 PM) Could anyone stomach an outfield of Tank in LF, Wise in CF, and DeAza in RF if we can manage to swing a trade for Rios by selling high and getting something of value back? Even if we eat some of Rios' salary? I want to say a 3rd baseman but I can't think of any scenario where we get a high upside 3rd baseman unless we pry loose a prospect from some team who is doing well in AAA and is MLB ready or a year away. No, I could not stomach that outfield. I think Rios stays. My prediction- Sox move Viciedo in a trade for a 3B, and Wise and Tekotte/Danks hold down LF until Jared Mitchell is ready. The Sox are probably ready to see what Mitchell can do in Chicago. I know a lot of people like Viciedo, but with Mitchell, Thompson, Walker, and Hawkins in the system, I think Viciedo is movable.
  22. I think Wise is decent insurance for De Aza if he gets hurt, which is often. Could be wrong here, but I don't think Jordan Danks is on the White Sox in a couple weeks.
  23. Shirek is 27. Seems like a weird last minute decision since they already announced the other four first. Maybe a team wants him, but they don't want to chance it in the Rule 5, so the Sox protected him to trade him.
