  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 12:59 PM) Olney suggesting Angels are about to strike on a big move. Other writers speculating it could be signing Hamilton. I wonder how Trumbo looks at 3B.....Hmm.... If Trumbo could play 3B good enough, he'd be playing 3B for the Angels.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 10:59 AM) Jayson Stark ‏@jaysonst Clubs pursuing Mike Adams say he could sign in next couple of days. Among teams linked to him: Nats, Jays, Phillies, Rangers, Cubs, Brewers Stark added this 2 teams to add to list of Mike Adams pursuers I posted earlier: White Sox & Angels. At this point clearly best FA setup man left
  3. Buster Olney Sox are held hostage from doing anything until this Hamilton thing gets settled. Aggravating.
  4. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 03:09 PM) Beckham for Ackley? Seriously? Ackley is their Beckham, that's for sure. I doubt they'll trade him unless it's for a proven offensive player.
  5. D-backs tweet: https://twitter.com/Dbacks/status/278684533979758594 Bauer to the Indians.
  6. Napoli may not have passed his physical with Boston.
  7. Sounds like this may be a 3-way, with Gregorius ending up in Arizona. This could be the beginning of the dominoes falling. Indians will get Stubbs and a pitcher--Bauer or Corbin from Arizona Dbacks get Gregorius Reds get Choo and Donald
  8. I don't like Ethier's contract. Too rich for the Sox, and he's on the wrong side of 30. Pass.
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 03:14 PM) I was just about to post that. Their talking Choo for Stubbs and Gregorious. And if Gregorious is part of this deal. Heyman and Morosi are tweeting that its all but certain that Asdrubal Cabrera will be traded. Very interesting. I feel like the Sox aren't doing anything... I feel like they have a ton of stuff in place, but it all rests on Josh Hamilton and possibly Michael Bourn's landing spots. The Mariners and Rangers have to do what they're going to do, and then the rest of baseball (Sox included) will begin to shuffle players. I just wish Hamilton would do something, and get this thing going.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) Good move for the White Sox as well... Yes. Nice to see Choo out of the AL. Man, I'm ready for the Sox to do something.
  11. ^ Just about to post that. Good move for both teams if Gregorius pans out.
  12. It seems like the Rangers are too busy with the Upton, Hamilton, and pitching concerns, but they'll eventually get around to getting a catcher. I think AJ goes to the Rangers for two years....maybe 5-6 mil/year.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 09:06 PM) Why sign Swisher for a bundle of money just to get rid of Choo? Did I miss something outside of the rumors that leaked that they were selling everyone? Not sure what they're going for in Cleveland, but it's been said Choo and Cabrera are available. All I know is we need Hamilton and Bourn to get signed somewhere so the rest of the stuff can start happening.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 09:02 PM) I was thinking along the lines of health, position of need, and "tough". If it were a FA, that would obviously be Hamilton. Choo is interesting, but is there a make up concern? I don't know what type of teammate or guy he is. He had the DUI a couple years ago.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 09:00 PM) Where the hell did the Indians get money to sign somebody like Swisher? They've been rumored offering Swisher 4/48-50 mil. They offered Victorino 4/44 before he went to Boston.
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 08:55 PM) Chase Utley? Where are the make up concerns with him? Hopefully it's Choo, and the Indians are just waiting on Swisher's decision.
  17. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 08:46 PM) Grady Sizemore He'd be a good guy for the Cubs or Astros to take a chance on for one year, but if the Sox are trying to contend in 2013, they need to keep Viciedo, De Aza, and Rios. I wouldn't clear a spot for a guy who didn't play last year and has been hurt several years.
  18. What about Choo? He's had off the field issues too and can slug better than LoMo or Rasmus. Is he a "tough" KW type though?
  19. Logan Morrison and Colby Rasmus come immediately to mind.
  20. QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 11:58 AM) is this some new news here? or just our speculation that we are going after a left-handed bat It's a combination of the rumor that Sox want to add a lefty impact bat, and that the Sox also are coming up with "pie in the sky" trade ideas. That was the quote I heard from some MLB insider on MLB Network last week. If the Sox actually think they can contend next year, they're currently lacking in every aspect of the roster. The bench will probably be better, but the lineup, rotation, and bullpen are all lacking if they want to get to 90+ wins. I'm not buying into the Sox chances yet. Not even close.
  21. So who is they mystery "lefty impact bat" that the Sox want to add? Cano? Mauer?
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 10:37 AM) Speaking of blinders, Kansas City has had one winning season in this century, and that was with 83 wins. Like the state they are from, you've gotta show me. They are perpetual losers until they prove otherwise on the baseball field. Baseball America rankings don't mean a damned thing. I agree with that. The Royals and the Pirates are in the same boat...until they actually win something, they're awful and it's dumb to pick them to win.
  23. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 08:03 AM) Did anybody watch the 30 for 30 movie 'You Don't Know Bo' Saturday night? I recorded it, but because the Heisman presentation ran over by 8 minutes, I didn't have the last 8 minutes of the movie, and that was right at the part where Bo started playing for the Sox. Just wondering what all was said/shown about his season with the Sox. It was pretty brief. Just that he signed with the Sox, and when he came back from the hip replacement, he hit a homer in his first game back...and they showed that.
