I think Trout deserves it, but Cabrera will win it and it won't be that close. The Triple Crown will clinch it for too many voters, and I think to an extent, a lot of voters will rationalize it by thinking, "Trout is so good that he'll probably win it some other year where he's played a full season on a playoff team in a year where there wasn't a Triple Crown." If there are 28 voters, I'm predicting 18-10 in favor of Cabrera.

Salt River clinched their spot in the championship game. MLB Network--Saturday at 2 central I would assume Sanchez will start. Not sure about Wilkins or Thompson. And Rienzo left, as was mentioned.

Not shocked at all about Torii Hunter going to Detroit. You could tell that's where he wanted to go, and he's basically a perfect fit for them.

QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 09:06 AM) I'm gunna throw out a crazy trade idea, and it'll prolly not happen. Floyd for Buehrle. Of course it won't happen because why would the Sox want 3 lefties in the rotation. Buehrle and Floyd do the same thing...take the ball, provide innings, and at the end of the season, your team will go about .500 when they start. Floyd, being righty at 9.5 mil, is a much better value than Buehrle, who has 3 years/48 mil left on his contract. The more I let this trade sink in, the more I think the Marlins undid their stupidity from last offseason, and the Blue Jays are taking a huge risk with these guys. It's very possible this trade will end up being lose/lose. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 06:43 PM) They bet the ranch on Ozzie and some free agents and it bombed. They royally f***ed the Marlins fanbase. On the flip side, its ENTIRELY feasible that Mark could be headed back to us if we wanted him. As much as I like Buehrle as a person, he's still overpaid for what he does. Truthfully, Gavin Floyd is a better value for 2013. -

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 06:33 PM) this trade is...wow. what a joke, selig should not allow this to happen I agree. Loria is a joke, and this is the kind of trade that a commissioner could veto, and nobody would fault Selig for doing it. -

When does this turn into a 3-way deal involving the Sox and Reyes and Buehrle going to Chicago? -

How do we get Stanton on the south side? -
Sanchez 2-4, 4 RBIs today.

Good chance the Salt River team with the Sox players will be on MLB Network on Saturday at 2 if they hold on to their division lead.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 11:53 AM) Know what's closer to South Bend than Detroit? Chicago. Yeah, but he probably drooling thinking about being in their lineup.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 10:56 AM) Jon Heyman @JonHeymanCBS #tigers, #rangers among teams eying @toriihunter, who said he'll sign quick I have a feeling he's going to be a Tiger. Good team and fairly close to South Bend when his son will be there next year.

Somebody on twitter is trying hard to spread the word that catcher Bryan Anderson is coming to the Sox from St. Louis. He was outrighted to AAA Memphis last week. Possible, I guess.

I'm calling BS on the Sox thinking about moving Viciedo back to 3B. I highly doubt they're considering that at all.

QUOTE (balfanman @ Nov 7, 2012 -> 12:28 PM) Here's another thought that I have. Keep in mind that I am one who has only actually been to 2 Sox games over the last couple of seasons, and have been able to watch only about 2-3 more on T.V. in that time. I do listen to most every game on radio however, so most of my information comes from Ed Farmer & Darrin Jackson (I do realize that they are somewhat biased). Listening to Ed & D.J., I have thought that Gordon Beckham was a G. G. calibur 2nd baseman with pretty good range. It does seem however, that most on this site do not believe that Beckham has very good range. It then seems to me that it might be best to move him back to 3rd base and try to find another 2nd basemen. I know that this subject has been broached before and I think that the main arguement against it was that we don't want to mess with his mind any further with another position change. Well, this would not be a totally new position to him and you are going to mess his mind up from what exactly? It is all ready messed up offensively. I believe that Beckham had most of his success in the Majors while playing 3rd base so who knows, the move might help him to "find himself" at the plate. When I thought Beckham was going to be an above-average offensive player, I wanted them to keep him at 2B. Now that he's 3.67 years in, and we know he's not even an average offensive player, but shows occasional power, I wouldn't mind if they moved him back to 3B, batted him second one last time, and tried Carlos Sanchez at 2B and batted him 9th. BTW, Sanchez went 5-5 yesterday, and is hitting well over .300 in the AFL. Not that it means much, but it's better than hitting .200. He also has played exclusively at 2B.
