QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Feb 7, 2016 -> 09:53 PM) Cam played like an absolute chump. His receivers didn't help him at all. Denver got lucky their defense forced those turnovers because Manning wasn't really doing much. Cam had to take over the game and he didn't. That's why the Panthers lost. I thought Cam's mobility would be the difference between what the Broncos did to Brady but he got way too flustered. Then when he did make a throw, his receivers couldn't make a play. Manning wasn't much better, but his turnovers weren't costly. Carolinas D was great, but they lacked the game changing plays Denver had.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 7, 2016 -> 09:57 PM) I still can't believe Cam didn't dive for that fumble. Just backed out like he gave up or just didn't want to get hurt. Almost as disappointing as Ron Rivera punting with 2 minutes left. That team got demoralized and gave up.

Riverboat Ron must have lost all his money at the casino last week.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 7, 2016 -> 09:16 PM) If you have that defense, yes, but the Bears are about 11 players short of a defense like that. Ha, that's for sure. Just recent times talk about how you need an "elite" QB to win a Super Bowl and Denver just won it all on the back of a defense and average QB play at best. I guess this makes up for all the times Peyton was the best QB in football but the team around him wasn't good enough.
-
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 7, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) Denver's going to win this. Maybe you can win in today's NFL with a crappy QB. There is hope for Chicago after all!

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Feb 5, 2016 -> 06:14 PM) I'm just tired of celebrating a 30 year old team. Most of us are, I've heard more than enough of Mongo promoting west suburban strip clubs on the Score. But this was a national broadcast by the new elite documentary series. Sit back and enjoy it. The Bills 30 for 30 just came out and was just as entertaining.

QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 5, 2016 -> 05:41 PM) No comments on the Bears 30for30 doc? I cried like a baby at the end. As a toddler I watched a replay of Super Bowl XX on VHS every single day. That and the "Play It Again" jukebox video, which was amazing (If you haven't seen it, find it on YouTube). I couldnt get enough. 1. Thursday nights out with the Bears must have been insane. Without cell phone cameras, I'm sure there was much more freedom for the players to party. That and the Super Bowl being in NOLA, it seems like they had their fun. 2. I was surprised to see how upset Walter was about not scoring a TD in the Super Bowl. I knew it was a big deal in general, but I had no idea it bothered him that much. 3. The Buddy Ryan stuff brought some tears, especially the letter at the end. Surprised to not hear any mention of Rex or Rob though.

QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 5, 2016 -> 12:44 PM) Self-imposed tourney ban for Louisville. The fact father and son will both have jobs after this season is ridiculous. I hate NCAA sports. To save face and recruiting in the future, they screw over the players on the current roster that didn't do anything wrong. -
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 5, 2016 -> 11:25 AM) Waiting for them to announce the signings of Ryan Bukvich, Ehren Wasserman, and Lance Broadway. And the hiring of Kenny Williams!

QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 5, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) Especially since it's not like some of these issues weren't around when he was in high school, etc. It's a frustrating situation all around. Absolutely, I read a profile during his college days talking about all of the extra curriculars he was involved in even during high school. There is no doubt that he has a substance abuse problem that he needs help for, but there definitely seems like some "affluenza" is involved as well.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 4, 2016 -> 12:04 PM) To this day, I don't understand why they didn't build the Cell with the Chicago skyline in the background. All those tall buildings right across the Dan Ryan weren't pretty enough for you? -
QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 3, 2016 -> 10:30 AM) That's adorable. Rumor Gary was seen with a Clemson shirt on at ESPN. No clue if that is BS. I heard Shaun Livingston wore an Illinois shirt at school yesterday.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 3, 2016 -> 10:30 PM) Didn't work for the Dodgers clubhouse. Greinke, Van Slyke, Turner and Kershaw all had problems with Puig. Doesn't sound like much chemistry to me. Yet they won the division with 92 wins. They lost in the playoffs because the Mets pitching staff was so good. That had nothing to do with chemistry.
-
If you win, Puig and Lawrie will be besties. If you lose, it wont matter anyway. Winning builds clubhouse chemistry, just get talent.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 3, 2016 -> 04:10 PM) 670 The Score @670TheScore 5m5 minutes ago Flames defenseman Dennis Wideman has been suspended 20 games for cross-checking a linesman: http://cbsloc.al/1X45SV6 So the NHL admitted that he had just suffered a concussion but still gave him the automatic suspension. Given the current situation with head injuries, this appeal process could get interesting.

Did Rutgers just steal Northwestern 's gym and paint it red? That crowd on the baseline is just depressing. -
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 2, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) Alright so I'll be paying taxes for the first time soon on my condo, suggestions for fighting increases or anything like that? I've become a quasi-expert on Cook county taxes between my multiple properties and helping my parents. Like someone else said, finding comparables is huge. If you go to the Cook County Assessor site, you can search your neighborhood for all properties in the same property class as yours. Find the most similar properties that have been assessed much lower than yours and submit the list to the county. Each township is only open for a month at a time, so keep an eye on the deadline and don't miss your chance or you are out of luck http://www.cookcountyassessor.com/Appeals/...-Deadlines.aspx

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 2, 2016 -> 12:50 PM) I don't think it's that they couldn't handle it. It's the simple fact that teams with Chris Sale, Quintana, Rodon, Abreu, and Eaton don't rebuild. It doesn't make sense. I don't disagree. After watching the Mets last year, the thought of Sale/Q/Rodon in a playoff series is very enticing. I had just replied to a post that specifically said the Sox can't rebuild because of the fanbase, which seems to be a popular opinion. I just find that false, the franchise is already irrelevant now when they go for it, what difference would it make?
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 2, 2016 -> 12:27 PM) You should also point out during that time the Cubs drew 11,137,363, the White Sox drew 7,140,999. Close to 1 million fans a year more. In fact it they could have matched the Cubs attendance, it would have been the greatest 4 year stretch in their history. The only reason to tank is for the first round pick. After that, any player you can select is available to a team that tried to contend but did not as long as they have their draft picks. The Cubs being awful got them Bryant and Schwarber. All the other guys they could have acquired anyway. The Astros drew 7,165,030 over the past 4 years, helped by a playoff jump this year. They did a rebuild, lost major attendance numbers, yet didn't wilt away and die like everyone claims the Sox would.

QUOTE (chisox802 @ Feb 2, 2016 -> 12:10 PM) While no one shows up to the games now, you still have to keep a fan base some what interested. Maybe I am totally wrong, but if we went into complete re-build mode..... I think you would hear talks of the team being moved. On a Tuesday night you might have a 8-10k show up to a game. I think it would be really really bad if we went the re-build route.... They would have to let people into the game for free IMO. Just my two cents. Would 8-10k really be that much of a difference? QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 2, 2016 -> 11:44 AM) It makes a difference. Look at Cleveland, they sold out every game how many years in a row? They have made the playoffs since, but still now draw less than the White Sox. Once they leave, it's harder to get them back. Winning doesn't always work. Since 2001, Cleveland has one ALCS trip and lost the play-in game once. That's it. Worse than the White Sox, they aren't winning at all, that's why the fans aren't coming back.

QUOTE (chisox802 @ Feb 2, 2016 -> 11:20 AM) The sox can't do a true rebuild. 5 people would show up at games for however long the rebuild took. I love the sox but were not the cubs, and can't afford to do a true rebuild. I am very frustrated with the FO because we are a piece or two away from being a contender. None of these guys left really appeal to me, and have bust written all over them IMO. They are already 26th in attendance without rebuilding. How much of a difference would it really make?
