QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) Conor McDavid gets checked into the boards and holding his left shoulder. Did not move it at all. Saw that all over Twitter, that really sucks. Reminded me of the Kaner collarbone crash into the boards. Hope it's nothing serious.

2015-16 NCAA Football Thread

I know it doesn't matter but it sucks for non -BCS teams that Memphis is #13. Ole Miss is a much better win than many teams above them. -
Eaton, flowers, Brantley and Micah johnson have surgeries

QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 08:32 PM) But people on this board are hard to please. I was getting fried on this board for saying Salvy Perez was an outstanding catcher for the Royals. That's not even true greg. I can't find the thread now, but you were saying that Perez was a top offensive catcher and people used statistics to show that many catchers hit better than him. That doesn't mean he's not a great catcher, especially for the price. -
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 03:14 PM) No deals to be made this deadline. Broncos and Browns couldn't agree on compensation. Sucks for Thomas. He's been dominating in Cleveland for a long time ago, with no team success to show for it.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 02:39 PM) I honestly thought he was pretty fine in Arizona, but the stuff he was doing in tennessee. They just did not look right ever. He was fine in Arizona until Kurt Warner left, but not many coaches are that good without QBs. 2012 is still crazy when they started 4-0 including a win in Foxboro, but finished 5-11.

4-31 in his last 35 games. The funny thing is, two of those wins were in week 1. So he is actually 2-31 where he hasn't had more than months to prepare.

Nationals screw over Bud Black, hire Dusty Baker
LittleHurt05 replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in The Diamond Club
I love to rag on Dusty Baker as much as the next guy, but I could see him doing well with this team, at least get the team in the playoffs. He's no tactician, but he can convince a veteran team to have fun again and get their head out of their ass. Now trying to low ball Bud Black, that's not a good look. -
Wow. This kid in the #88 jersey is good at hockey.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 04:12 PM) Hypothetical: Say we just passed the golden era of football, with elite QBs running their own offenses slinging the ball all over the field, and everyone goes back to the St. Louis Rams set up. RBs start becoming elite items. Run and D. Would you lost some interest in football? This year has been thoroughly unenjoyable for me, and the QB play has been largely bad. If it keeps up like this I'm not sure how it will hold up. Now, I know it's probably a blip, just a hypothetical if the "passing league" trend reverses. WRs are more talented than ever. Between the lack of QB play, awful officiating on judgement passing plays, and the amount of commercials vs actual game play , it is definitely hard to watch at times. That being said, betting pools and fantasy sports work so well with football, it's not going anywhere. Plus, having games only once a week make them each seem like an event and much more important than your normal regular season MLB or NBA game.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 03:15 PM) Anyone know what the cap hit for cutting Cutler looks like after this year? From what I understand from this article, it's $13 million if done in February, then $19 million if done in March. http://www.spotrac.com/blog/understanding-...tlers-contract/

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 02:02 PM) That doesn't free up cap space like it used to does it? Only $900k, better than nothing though

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 10:51 AM) Also took away his scholarship. Thats pretty big. Does he suddenly have to pay out-of-state tuition for a semester? That would suck big time for him. -
Mark Lazerus @MarkLazerus 1m1 minute ago #Blackhawks send Bryan Bickell to Rockford, recall Marko Dano. Go crazy, Twitter.

Five trades that should happen (but won't)

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 08:40 AM) I would take the home team. I think they play each other in a few weeks, huge game for home field advantage. That game is in Denver, although the Broncos may be worn down after a trip to Soldier Field the week before. With their defense, I should give them more credit, but it just seems set up for another Peyton playoff disappointment to the Pats.

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 31, 2015 -> 12:52 PM) The NHL Central is just incredible. Hawks need to be a lot better because a good team will miss the playoffs this year. With the Keith injury and their difficulty to gel so far, I'll admit the thought of digging an early hole and missing the playoffs has crossed my mind.
-
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 08:23 AM) They have the best defense in the NFL. I mean they could get knocked out early, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are in the Super Bowl. I'd be surprised if they beat the Patriots in the playoffs.

I gotta go to bed. Battle of the bullpens, I'll be shocked if I don't wake up to Royals -WS Champions.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 1, 2015 -> 10:24 PM) Odds Familia needs arm surgery this offseason? Boras wouldn't even touch him at this point
-
Yost saving his closer on the road until he gets a lead. That never works.
-
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 1, 2015 -> 10:05 PM) Yup but helluva base running by Hosmer. He should have been out by a mile.
-
A good throw by Duda and this series is headed back to KC. That's what the Royals do though.
-
Can't believe he is leaving him in after the leadoff walk.
-
Even though Harvey is dealing and the Mets are leading, it just feels inevitable that the Royals come back to win. Mets need some insurance runs.
