  1. Mets are only -110 favorites. Seems low given the pitching matchup. O/U 7.5, so winds shouldn't be too big of a factor
  2. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 03:45 PM) Too bad Toronto doesn't have anyone to replace Dickey right now, say a playoff veteran on their roster who could go out and give them basically an unlimited amount of good innings to get them back in this. This guy?
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 02:33 PM) Surprised Bryant stays 3rd At Wrigley: 1.037 OPS Away from Wrigley: .693 OPS Slump or not, you keep him 3rd at home. On the road he probably should have been dropped down
  4. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) Duncan Keith out 4-6 weeks with torn meniscus. Sigh. That is just brutal. They barely have 4 defense men as it is, he was probably the one player they could ill afford to lose.
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 10:54 AM) Just looking at this weekend's schedule and struggling to find a game that interests me. That's why College GameDay is at James Madison this weekend
  6. You can get two seats together on Stubhub for just under $200 each. Bleacher tickets are going for under $250. My how quickly the fans have lost faith.
  7. Butch McGuire's on Division, especially around Christmas time
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 07:39 AM) Exactly. In 1993 the White Sox are in the ALCS. Broadcasting live from what was then called Comiskey Park, the first story in sports was the Cubs fired Jim Levebvre. And then Michael Jordan retired that week too
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 08:14 PM) Well, now it's a series at least...some drama/excitement. Strange that the Blue Jays weren't prepared 100% going into both series (Rangers in ALDS) but seem to have the ability to catch fire at a moment's notice and put their foot on the gas. One thing is for sure, even if they sweep three games in a row, and that's certainly possible...it's not going to be easy to win at KC, either. Not like the Metrodome in 1987/1991, but close. Of course, Royals' fans will be ultra nervous again the next time Cueto starts a game. They thought he was over the hump finally and now he laid another huge egg and is back to a semi-goat again. The Royals are 6-3 in their last 9 home playoff games.
  10. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 08:17 PM) This Toronto crowd is awesome when they're not being f***ing idiots. In the 500 level, they stopped selling tallboys and forced all vendors to serve beer in plastic cups because of all the idiots.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 04:42 PM) Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 2h2 hours ago If the #Cubs win Game 3, Jason Hamel is starting Game 4. If they lose, could turn to Lester on short rest or use bullpen by committee Starting Hammel is bullpen by committee anyway
  12. I think it would be worth it just to count how many teams please misspell his first name Dominic or Dominick or Dominicks.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 08:50 AM) The wind is supposed to be howling out on Tuesday night which should help the Cubs, but if they do lose, does Maddon skip Hammel in game 4? Either game 4 or game 5 is gonna have to be a Hammel/"bullpen" day. I could see Hammel starting, but he'll be on a very very short leash with Wood and Grimm ready to roll. With Arrieta's struggles looking like fatigue, I think there is zero chance he pitches at Wrigley this week on short rest.
  14. With the warmer temps at Wrigley, the Cubs are gonna hit some homers this week, so you can't count them out, but man is their rotation in shambles now with Arrieta struggling. I think they have to pitch Lester on short rest twice? G3: Hendricks G4: Lester (3 days rest) G5: Hammel/bullpen G6: Arrieta G7: Lester ( 3 days rest) Meanwhile, the Mets have their rotation set up perfectly on normal rest.
  15. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 07:42 PM) Apu approves! The NYE Mets are my favorite squadron
  16. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 03:25 PM) Could've scored a TD if there wasn't a 10 second runoff on that grounding call. Or if Fox didn't waste 20 to 30 seconds by not calling a timeout
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 02:46 PM) The Bears aren't winning this game today so much as the Lions are losing it. Both of these teams suck. The Bears just suck less.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 17, 2015 -> 10:23 PM) Some reason three at Wrigley scares me. It's gonna be in the 70s all week which leads to more wind, better for the Cubs.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2015 -> 10:39 PM) Well. I was nervous drinking for awhile until Barrett came in. Love beating PSU Is Urban finally done making Ted Ginn happy? Barrett is better, no matter what happened in the playoffs last year. Cardale may have cost himself some money by not going pro last year, he is getting exposed.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 17, 2015 -> 10:25 PM) Yeah I was a bit worried Familia was going to blow it. He's pitched so much and he's had stretches where he sucked in the regular season. His control issues aren't ideal against a team like the Cubs. That's why I was shocked Rizzo was so agressive after Bryant had that great long at bat.
  21. Can't believe Rizzo went first pitch swinging after the Familia walk to Bryant, thought he had a good chance to tie it up.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 17, 2015 -> 06:51 PM) What if you ran back to the five or ten and kept dodging/eluding tacklers long enough for the clock to run out? He's a punter. What if he gets caught and tackled at the 15 with two seconds left? Field goal wins it.
  23. Gotta love the Soler face mask. It's like a January playoff game at Lambeau.
  24. Murphy had one homer in the regular season vs LHP. In the playoffs he has two vs Kershaw and one vs Lester. That's baseball for you
