Obviously Utley 's play was dirty, but how in the hell did they call him safe? He literally never touched the base, then ran back to the dugout. The rule states that if guy deliberately try to take out the fielder, the ball is dead, you are out and so is the batter. Mets would still be leading 2-1. https://twitter.com/jareddiamond/status/653...7297678336?s=09

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) David Wright is the most tenured player in baseball. Don't know why that surprises me so much. My first thought would have been David Ortiz, it's easy to forgot his Minnesota days. Wright is surprising because he's been pretty insignificant for a while now, kind of forget about him.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 10:17 PM) Cardinals are in trouble. Who's going to start game 4? You might as well pencil in game 3 as a win for the Cubs. Today was Lance Lynn's "side session" day so I think he will still pitch Tuesday. But he sucks now. Then again, so does Jason Hammel so who knows. It's hard to imagine Arrieta losing game 3, but then again Kershaw & Price have lost a combined 11 straight playoff starts. s*** happens.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 10:07 PM) Boykin, mercy That defense is so banged up, he's gonna have to do that every single week. (When they aren't playing Kansas) -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 05:27 PM) Maddon is schooling Matheny today I think you'd be hard pressed to find a Cardinals fan that thinks Matheny is a good manager.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 07:50 PM) My god Wrigley is gonna be f***in' insane Monday. I thought the world was gonna end watching the crowd after Kerry Wood's homer in Game 7 of the NLCS. 5:00 start on Monday and 3:30 start on Tuesday sucks for the fans though, and might limit the drunkenness. Maybe.

QUOTE (LDF @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 07:05 PM) well, i agree. i was just stirring the waters and see what posters have to say. yesterday was a great article on la kings gm talking about this. this guy really have a huge problem. but i wanted to know, should the hawks take a chance?? No. He might be suspended indefinitely until his customs drug case closes anyway. Can we at least wait until he is out if the judicial system? And hockey wise, there is a reason why the Kings were so desperate to terminate his contract at the first opportunity

Wow, Trevor Cahill as an 8th inning set up guy. Chris Bosio is working some magic.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 02:52 PM) 99.9% sure Nick Chubb just blew out his knee. He couldn't go pro under the NFL's rules but every single player that is good enough to be a first or second round pick should never come back for their SR year. Leonard Fournette should retire from CFB today, don't even play against South Carolina -
QUOTE (LDF @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 02:47 PM) mike richards, la kings. has just negotiated a buyout on his huge contract. so he will be a UFA at a certain time, soon. too bad bickell contract is hanging over the hawks neck but i would love to get richards like the hawks got brad richards at a discount and provide a valuable positional skilled player. i think he will look good as a 3c ... but oh well. http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/r/richami02.html You are aware that Mike Richards has some major legal and addiction issues with drugs, correct?

Sox got back almost nothing from break up of 2012 squad
LittleHurt05 replied to VAfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The 2012 White Sox had a 2.5 game division lead at the trade deadline. Why would they have broken the team up then? The 2012 Cubs were 19.5 games back on July 31. Why are those two situations comparable at all? -
QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 12:58 PM) Wow, sitting the hottest hitter in Schwarber. .481 OPS against LHP.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 10:28 PM) I feel like the teams centered around "elite offenses" rarely succeed in the playoffs. During the season you face so many more #3, #4 and #5 starters, middle relievers, etc. When only the top starters & relievers are playing and they take every at-bat seriously, suddenly the top offenses lose some of their advantage.

I can't believe Kershaw is gonna lose another playoff game.
-
I'm not rooting for the Cubs, but f*** the Cardinals too. Tommy Pham? These aren't even top prospects, they just pick people off the street and they hit home runs for them. It's like the same magic pixie dust the Packers have.

Oliver Perez is still in the majors?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 02:03 PM) Ho hum. Just chalk it up to another day in USA. Bam, you're dead. Just remember to always watch your back. You may be shot on purpose or accidentally. Read about those Chicago shootings. Some people just walking along and felt a pain. Hey don't they know they shouldn't be taking walks in America nowadays? I know you will just ignore this as you always do when it doesn't match your agenda, but here are the yearly murders in Chicago: 1970: 810 1971: 824 1972: 711 1973: 862 1974: 970 1975: 818 1976: 814 1977: 823 1978: 787 1979: 856 1980: 863 1981: 877 1982: 668 1983: 729 1984: 741 1985: 666 1986: 744 1987: 691 1988: 660 1989: 742 1990: 851 1991: 928 1992: 943 1993: 855 1994: 931 1995: 828 1996: 796 1997: 761 1998: 704 1999: 643 2000: 633 2001: 667 2002: 656 2003: 601 2004: 453 2005: 451 2006: 471 2007: 448 2008: 513 2009: 459 2010: 436 2011: 435 2012: 516 2013: 441 2014: 432 -
