Starling Marte should have been with the White Sox
That worked out well for him, it's unlikely he would have developed into as good of a hitter with the White Sox, given what we know.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 12:17 PM) I like the two Monday night games. NFL should scrap the Thursday game and just do two Monday night games. The Thursday game would be fine if both teams were given a bye the week before. At this level the game is not meant to be played on 3 days rest.

Not only was it dumb to call a pass on 3rd down, the decision by Eli to throw it away instead of taking a sack in play was so much worse.

Damn, Federer had his chances but couldn't convert any of those breaks. Props to Novak though, he is the king right now. And how weird was the handing over of the winners check though?

What would the Sox all time starting rotation look like?
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 13, 2015 -> 06:16 PM) No love for Wilson Alvarez? Not saying he's a White Sox great but he should be mentioned somewhere. I'll never forget his Arrieta-like domination down the stretch in '93. He also stymied one of the all-time great lineups in game 3 of the ALCS. Man, if we could've somehow won game 6 and then Wilson pitches game 7 at home. f***! nevermind. I see caulfield did mention him earlier. Bere/Alvarez/Fernandez/McDowell is the Sox version of Wood/Prior /Zambrano. It seemed like that rotation was gonna be great for years

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 13, 2015 -> 03:05 PM) When does Jay's contract end? One more year, he will be gone after 2016. It was more like a 3 year deal, with an additional 4 years if the Bears want to keep him, which they wont.

Better team with the best QB won, but at least the Bears were competitive. Thats a step in the right direction

European Refugee Crisis
QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 11, 2015 -> 02:14 PM) Except when you consider the fact that we have an incredibly stable neighbor to the north and we have a presidential candidate proposing creating a wall to prevent them illegally entering country. At least our black athletes can play without having bananas thrown at them or entire cheering sections chant monkey noises. I've yet to see a college student section unveil a huge banner with Nazi symbolism. I never said America is perfect, but you can't deny it's much better than much of Europe in handling diversity. The main reason is that America has been dealing with it for hundreds of years, so it has improved over time. Most European countries are still very homogeneous, so any change or diversity scares them.

European Refugee Crisis
QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 11, 2015 -> 01:56 PM) While the USA can largely be described as a country of immigrants, a lot of places in Europe are not historically diverse. And what little diversity there has been in many central and northern European countries has not typically included a great deal of Muslims or non-Europeans. It has been a real challenge there, particularly in terms of how many of these peaceful, supposedly highly progressive areas are now looking at themselves and seeing that being a "melting pot" is hard and it takes a lot of support from the citizen to the government for it to work. It's worth mentioning that not all Muslim countries feel obligated to look out for one another. Saudi Arabia is pretty friendly with the USA, after all. Gulf Arabs tend to feel superior to inland Arabs and to some extent the inverse is true as well. They are not all the same. Just follow a little bit of European soccer and you can see how big of a problem diversity is in Europe. American is miles ahead many European countries in terms of race relations.
