  1. Chaos in Columbus, will the Pens choke another one away?
  2. Duncan Keith is a finalist for the Norris Trophy, along with Zdeno Chara and Shea Weber.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 08:25 PM) It's simply a hypothetical, "what if" question... If you could get Santos OR Reed, Peavy and Rios (undoing all those trades/moves) back under their current contract conditions right now, for the 2014 season (and beyond) OR Tanaka under his $175 million deal, which would you choose? Tanaka, because I still don't believe this team will compete this year, but might in 2015 or 2016.
  4. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 06:41 PM) Hey, you never know. It appears they have some QB issues, and maybe Lunt throws for 400 and surprises us all I've been tempted to go to that game, been to Seattle once a couple years ago...just don't know if it's worth it to go all the way out and back for that. My dream world scenario has me going to a bowl game this year if we can sneak to 6-6, so maybe saving for that instead. Or maybe Bailey runs for 400 yards? I do think UW had some suspensions, so yeah, you never know? My wife & I both have friends living out there, so there's more going on than just the game. We went out there for a Bears/Seahawks game several years ago and had a blast too. Great town when its not raining.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 07:23 PM) I want no piece of Colorado. I have thought the same thing and while I think experience can be overrated at times, I just don't feel like they are ready for a tough series against a good team. But yes, I would still prefer the Wild.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 07:34 PM) Iowa's Peter Jok arrested for driving drunk. He was on a moped and blew a .082. Damn racist Iowa City cops
  7. I wish American sports has relegation. That's usually way more fun that who wins the title.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 07:57 PM) You're doing your schedule/timeline thing again...must be a positive sign! By the way, would you rather have Reed OR Santos, Peavy and Rios OR Tanaka? It's an interesting question. For this year, definitely you'd pick having the better bullpen and the starting pitched shored up. Long-term, of course, Tanaka...assuming he's healthy in years 4-7 of that deal. What kind of question is that, the Sox don't currently have any of those 3 options?
  9. Just booked a flight to Seattle for the weekend of the Illinois/Washington game. I expect it to be a beat down but Seattle is an awesome town so should be a good time.
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 06:18 PM) Rosenthal's assumption hinges on the Sox being irrelevant at the deadline. But what if that's not the case... When Abreu wins the MVP and Carroll wins the Cy Young, damn right they will be relevant!
  11. I Ubered last night. I may never take a taxi again
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 05:28 PM) Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 51m Carroll had a torn labrum in his right hip repaired in '09 and Tommy John in '12. Pretty amazing story What an incredible story, that's what sports are all about. Good for him. Never been happier for a pitcher to ruin my daily fantasy lineups, I stacked Rays all the way.
  13. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 05:57 PM) Blues absolutely dominated the first 2 periods and had to be so deflated to be even after 2. Yes, they had power plays, but even 5 on 5, Hawks had nothing going. Blues were carrying the play and the possession. Thank God the PK held the fort and Crawford too...then took advantage early 3rd. And the Blues were rightly on the PP the whole period, it's not like the Hawks were getting screwed. Blues were creating some of those by moving their feet well. Once the 3rd goal hit (maybe even the 2nd one), it was lights out. Root for a game 7 in the Avs/Wild series, then whoever we play would be tough. I'd rather take chances with Minnesota, but that guarantees nothing. What was the shot count after the 2nd? 28-11 or something like that? If you come out of that tied with only one goal, you aren't gonna win many playoff games. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 06:03 PM) I came in here to post that, as much as I hate the contract, having a guy who can stand on his head like this when it matters? Pretty nice. I'm in a very good mood. Go Crawford. He played a hell of a series. Remember when the Blues traded for Miller and we were concerned? Crawford outplayed him without a doubt, pretty irrelevant trade in the long run.
  14. What an incredible performance by the penalty killers today, especially with so many of their top guys in the box. While the last two weeks has me way more confident about beating the Avalanche, let's go Wild!
  15. Sharpie is so due, he'll get the winner in the 3rd. Nice to be on the power play for once.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 02:05 PM) Brian Hedger ‏@BrianHedger 31s OK, so there was a lineup change late. Nordstrom in for Versteeg. #Blackhawks #NHL #Blues Wasn't expecting Nordstrom to get the call, but guess it makes sense to have more a defensive guy that Q can trust on the 4th line. But Free Morin!
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 12:26 PM) What happened in game 6 Kings won 2-1
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 09:25 PM) He's about to be the president at Akron. I imagine head coach at Illinois pays more
  19. Anybody else say "Don't pull a Kendrys Morales!" when he jumped on home plate?
  20. I'm not sure if I have watched 9 total innings of Sox baseball this year, but I just saw that and that was f***ing incredible! #79!!!!
