    Alright begin

I think we should all just be happy we don't live in Yakutsk
  2. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 08:03 PM) Forecast in Green Bay for Sunday keeps dropping. Now they're saying a high of -3 and a low of -18. I might be going. Boy is that going to be fun. Have to bust out my deer hunting clothes. Apparently there are still tickets available for that game, as well as the Indy and Cincinnati games. Blackout rules still apply. http://deadspin.com/three-of-four-nfl-play...-out-1493124005
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 02:51 PM) Any chance McCown gets signed as the backup? I had read that he was thinking about retiring to get back home to his family, but unless some team offers him some huge deal to be a starter, I would think it's likely he stays in Chicago.
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 02:11 PM) Generally the point is to make statements that are thought provoking. I just wanted to make sure you were doing nonsense Packer baiting and not actually suggesting that Cutler is equivalent to Farve. It was only like 10-20% Bears/Packers baiting, but that's part of the point of message boards anyway. Plently of people have compared Cutler to Favre because of the "gunslinging" and when they both think they see a window, they will force the ball in there, interception be damned. Thought it would be interesting to see if Favre also had a ton of turnovers per game. Obviously his success puts him in a different stratosphere than Cutler.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 01:49 PM) What is the point of this post? Huh? What's the point of any post? I compared Cutler's turnover rate to Favre's and thought it was interesting. Cutler averages 1.317 TOs per game, Favre was at 1.354 per game over his entire career.
  6. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 01:38 PM) Cutler has turned the ball over 137 times in 104 games. That is a ton. That's almost a worse turnover rate than Brett Favre! Almost.
  7. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 01:08 PM) @RapSheet #Bears QB Jay Cutler’s contract: 7 years, $126 million with $54M guaranteed. So in reality it's more like 3 years, $54 million. If he is still playing well, you can keep him around for $18 million a year.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 12:50 PM) This snow is ridiculous. Please stop, im sick of shoveling Mother Nature is just trying to help you get a kickstart to your resolution with some major physical activity.

    Alright begin

Another person forgot about the letter V, that's two today.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 11:58 AM) People also didn't think the Saints would be as bad as they are on the road. It's been especially evident the past few years, but New Orleans is an awful road team. I always thought the same thing, but New Orleans was actually a really good road team until like two years ago. There was just a stretch where they were top 5 in the league in road wins over the past 5 seasons or something. In '09, they were 7-1 on the road, in '10 were 6-2, and 5-3 in 2011.
  11. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 11:56 AM) Meh, the Bears avoided a wildcard exit. With that terrible defense, there were going nowhere fast. And Bears fans avoided having to attend a game in 0 degree weather.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 10:04 AM) ? They pick 14. The draft is pretty deep for QB's this year. Chances are they were going to be able to get a decent option without giving up anything. Depending on the money he's guaranteed, I would have found a stop gap and drafted someone or franchised him and drafted someone. If it's in the 12-13 million dollar a year range, i'm cool with it. If it's 17-18 they should have let him walk. In the past five years, the following quarterbacks were drafted at pick 14 or sooner. Matt Stafford - 1st Mark Sanchez - 5th Sam Bradford - 1st Cam newton - 1st jake Locker - 8 Blaine Gabbert - 10 Christian Ponder - 12th Andrew Luck - 1st Robert Griffin - 2nd Ryan Tannenhill - 8th Taking away the first overall draft picks, how many of those quarterbacks are even close to being better than Jay Cutler. You can't just assume any QB you draft will be good. Especially not immediately.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 09:52 AM) Really pleased we kept Slauson. Was secretly, against all odds and reason, hoping for Johnny Football. I just wanted Cutler & Johnny Football to interact on the sidelines. The media would absolutely lose their s*** over those two together.
  14. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 09:46 AM) True, I just don't want Cutler to be the guy for the foreseeable future. I'm nervous to see what the financial terms of this deal are. Considering how quickly it was done, I'd imagine it's somewhat team friendly. If Cutler was looking for a Flacco-type deal, there would be a longer bargaining period.

Way to forget about the letter V. (Yeah, I saw your original post)
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 08:51 AM) How many players have ever gone on record ripping AJP? How many players ever go on record ripping ex-teammates It does happen, but it's not very common.

    Alright begin

    Ross Geller would be outraged!
  18. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 07:36 AM) Weather.com - High of 0, low of -18... PRE wind chill. That championship game vs the Giants a few years back had a game time temp of 0 with a negative 23 wind chill. Sunday should be colder. I'll never forget how red Tom Coughlin's face was.

    Alright begin

Perhaps football is a tad bit more important than geology?
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 12:46 AM) Not the hot babes? Chicago baseball groupies were at the top of the recent player survey.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 1, 2014 -> 11:30 PM) It's not that, their corners are unreal. You can run on them. Maybe, but after a slow start they absolutely shut down Gaffney last night.
  22. So it's supposed to be really f***ing cold in Green Bay on Sunday. Like potentially Ice Bowl cold.
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 1, 2014 -> 10:07 PM) Nice win by sparty. Their defense is legit and they didn't even have their best player. Jesse Palmer "they didn't play Stanford football" I would have loved to see the MSU D face the Auburn rushing attack.
  24. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 1, 2014 -> 06:29 PM) SOMEONE has got to go soon. Otherwise, there may be some DFA's in ST. I can't see Gillaspie with a long-term role here as the roster currently sits. He'd have to go for not being versatile enough defensively. And again, the Konerko signing gets in the way.
