QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 3, 2013 -> 10:09 AM) WHO'S READY FOR BILLS AND BROWNS? Easily the two most exciting teams in the NFL Thursday night football sucks

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 10:38 PM) Holy s*** has Swisher been bad in the playoffs in his career http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/...ml?mobile=false Just saw this, in his last 16 games vs. Tampa, Swisher is 2 for 53 with 21 strikeouts.

Post your predictions for the playoffs here. Poster with the closest picks wins 2 49ers tickets and a fixed up '69 Chevelle. Cardinals over Pirates in 5 Dodgers over Braves in 4 Red Sox over Rays in 4 Tigers over A's in 5 Dodgers over Cards in 6 Tigers over Red Sox in 7 Dodgers over Tigers in 5

Frolik with two goals last night, Bolland with two tonight. Time to put the Bowmans on the hot seat?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 10:00 PM) ok this is a fake greg. Somebody hacked him. This post is outstanding. I think that's the first time I have ever seen him use so many statistics.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 09:01 PM) Holy s***, are you serious? You could have told me he was a 1 WAR player and I would have believed you more. That's shocking. That's what I'm saying! Looking at his stats though, an .839 OPS would have qualified him in the top 30 in baseball and he was on a 30 homer pace. Still shocking though.

$20M for Colby Rasmus???.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 05:10 PM) For a hockey dumby like myself, what were the rule changes? The goalie pads are a tad bit smaller as well.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 02:19 PM) wat Both have had long, great careers, and once were at the top of their craft. Now they are on their last legs and need to retire as their performance has become very sub-par.

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 01:25 PM) I wonder if NYG will be interested in MJD. They just cut the RB that took a majority of the snaps Sunday. Who knows what's going on over there.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 11:19 AM) The best announcer in the game. Let's hope he wins. He deserves it. If Hawk is the best announcer in the game, then Konerko is the best 1b in the game.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 09:52 PM) EDIT: Oh, and Hunter Pence was really, really good this year. His WAR monetary value was $27.2 million this year and his career WAR value is $110.4 mill. It's more than I would have paid, so I think he was overpaid, but Sabean and the Giants felt he was worth it. It's not the worst contract out there. I totally didn't realize he was good in 2013. He had a s***ty 2012 and I figured he was on the decline already. The end of the contract may get a bit iffy, but the first few years should be a fine deal if he keeps it up.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 08:25 AM) Frankly, you have to worry about championship week. Those guys can play till the half and the Broncos will be up 2-3 TDs Not if the Chiefs keep playing well, unless the Broncos go undefeated. -
If Adam Dunn is such a loser, what does that make Luke Appling? 2,422 baseball games without a single playoff appearance? His teams never won more than 86 games. And they dared to retire his number? It was obviously his fault those teams were never good.

Why is Marlon Byrd a great story and Nelson Cruz an asshole? Both committed the same crime and punishment.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 08:08 PM) Anything based on innings pitched was always going to be doomed. A Hector Santiago inning does not equal a Chris Sale inning.

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 04:10 PM) QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 01:59 PM) More important Breaking Bad question: Do you think Huell is still sitting in that hotel room? Yes http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/5f24c5785e/huell-s-rules Sweet! Glad they let him bring his family.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 10:42 PM) PP still needs much improvement. Kruger seemed lost on PK without his partner-in-crime, and Saadfather came up big. Crawford was huge at the end during that 5-on-3. Also, I can't remember the last time I saw a goal given on an empty netter. Nordstrom looked a bit lost as Frolik's PK replacement. Can't remember the last time I saw a delay of game penalty where the player shot it across the length of the ice over the goalie's head. Crawford definitely made some huge saves through out the game, or at least the two periods when they were on my end of the ice. Fun game, only 81 more to go until the playoffs.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 04:00 PM) Tony LaRussa is going to turn 69 on Friday. That means he'll be 70 next year. He managed 33 years in a row. I'm sure he's enjoying the time he has to himself at this point in his life. He can finally drive drunk in peace.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 01:30 PM) Rick Porcello's 1st and 2nd half splits and peripherals 1st: .271/.308/.400/.708, 7.25 K/9, 1.72 BB/9, 1 HR/9, 57.3 GB%, 22.7 FB%, 3.51 FIP 2nd: .263/.322/.388/.710, 7.18 K/9, 2.67 BB/9, 0.81 HR/9, 52.6 GB%, 25 FB%, 3.55 FIP And here are Rick Porcello's 1st and 2nd half ERAs 1st: 4.80 ERA 2nd: 3.71 ERA So, what you are telling me is that you believe a strong sinker ball pitcher who strikes guys out makes his team worse because he got unlucky in the 1st half of the year. They won't get tired of him, and they will retain him, and he is probably going to be their 4th or 5th best starter, and if you could somehow transplant him to the White Sox pitching staff, he'd be, minimum, the 3rd best starting pitcher they have and could easily be the 2nd best. Yeah, well, if you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a stinky pig, so ha!

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 12:06 PM) I quietly hope and pray that Rick Porcello gets non-tendered, as he'd be a great candidate to pick up. Edinson Volquez is another that would be worth a flyer on about a non-guaranteed contract, and Shaun Marcum would be a solid pick up too on a minor league deal, so long as he proves he's healthy. In fact, I bet the Pirates will sign Edinson Volquez next year. I will bet 2 internet dollars on it I hope the Tigers keep Rick Porcello. It makes them a worse team.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 12:00 PM) Some fan you are. I've been in line since 10am waiting for the red carpet ceremony! I can't wait to smell Patrick Sharp. Sharpie is so dreamy

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 10:18 PM) Vince Gilligan on Colbert tonight. He's a straight weirdo. Then again, you have to be a little kooky to create such a show.
