  1. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 02:10 PM) Looks like the fans have noticed... Finally. Hamilton is a favorite of mine, with that story and all, and he deserves to be the starting CF in the ASG.
  2. Not that I wish upon an injury, but unless a key player for the Cubs suffers a bad one, they'll be sittin' a-top the NL, heading into the WS. I know it's a long year, but they will continue to win at home, and with that offense, they'll play .500 baseball the rest of the year on the road. Get hot, NYM and ARZ!!
  3. First off, let me start out by saing F*** YOU FUKUDOME for not wanting to play here, and instead play for the North Siders because you'd be their first Japanese player. We could have easily traded JD for something and you could have played RF. Secondly, I think we have to package up PK, Crede, and Swisher for a guy like Matt Kemp or Jason Bay. They are both under-rated, since not many know who they are, however, they both are .290-.310 hitters who could help us a.s.a.p. Though, who would play 1st if we traded Konerko AND Swisher??
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 03:26 PM) Alexei has been great, especially since he has been given a full time role. In may he hit .295 .313 .443 .755. Agreed- not to mention he made 3-5 web gems in the TB series. Keep him out there, Ozzie, and sit your boy, Uribe, on the bench, please.
  5. Former team-mate Jason Lane, off the 'roids, too.
  6. Uribe, Crede, and Swisher for Kemp. Bring up Fields. Ramirez 2B Cabrera SS Quentin LF Dye RF Kemp CF AJP C Fields 3B Konerko 1B Thome DH Wouldn't mind that.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:43 PM) Wow. This thread is crazy. We are in first place on June 1. The second placeeam is the Twins who we know is too young to take the division. The Indians are like 6 back, their bullpen still sucks, and all of a sudden they forgot how to hit. The Tigers are like 9 back. I think we are looking pretty good, especially since 3 of our power hitters are in a alump for the first two months Actually, Dye isn't in a slump. But, while on topic of slumps, it's not just PK and Thome, but it's Swisher, too. And even Cabrera, though hot lately, hasn't lived up to what he's supposed to be.
  8. Anybody doing it? I got tickets for the August 1-3 series @ Royals.
  9. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) That first trade is TERRIBLE for us. Bay is the only good one, and he is offset by Swisher. I assume you are joking anyway though. Let's see- Cabrera won't even be on the team next year unless you want to pony up 8-10 million a year, and so if we're not going to win, we may as well trade him. Crede will never be what he was a few years back, and we have a 3B in Charlotte right now who can take his place nicely, minus the fielding part. Swisher is just bad, look what getting off steroids does to you, and Buehrle, like Joe, may never be what he was a few years back. I just threw in Uribe because he is terrible and has no place on this team with Sanchez and Ramirez. Bay is a great hitter, not a good hitter, but a great hitter. He's loved in Pittsburgh and would be loved here. Sanchez is probably what, a .270 career hitter? Give or take .010? That definitley beats Uribe, and while it doesn't beat Cabrera, he won't even be with this team next season, while Sanchez will. However, I was joking, but I could actually make a case for it.
  10. I'm just curious- since when is a 6'9 player going to be an inside force? Will he be able to score on/defend guys like Ilgauskas, Garnett, Bynum/Gasol, Rasheed, Tyson Chandler, etc.?
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 06:56 PM) I'll gladly take a 3-3 series against them. Agreed, but I wouldn't doubt it if they won 5 or 4 of the 6. However, we should win 2/3 or 3/4 from every series this month, with an exception to the Scrubs.
  12. QUOTE (spiderman @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) I would love to bring Fields up, and rotate him, Konerko and Thome. If he outplays them, then he stays in. Trade Cabrera, Buehrle, Swisher, Uribe, and Crede to PIT for Sanchez and Bay. Trade Thome to BAL/KC for a minor leaguer or two. Ramirez 2B Sanchez SS Quentin LF Bay DH Dye RF Pierzynski C Fields 3B Konerko 1B Anderson CF Vazquez Contreras Danks Floyd Broadway In the offseason, go after Sabathia to be the ace, or maybe even Teixeria for 1B. If we get Tex, trade Konerko to a team for a bag of bats. Just a thought.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 10:06 PM) Seen you in a couple threads and just want to say Welcome Aboard!!! Thank you. Hope to contribute here. Very cool forum dedicated to the "best" team in baseball.
  14. Draft Rose. Trade TT, Gordon, Hinrich, and Gray to LAC for Brand. Rose Noc Deng Gooden/Noah Brand Not too shabby.
  15. And he's 6th in AL OF voting. He needs to be in CF, Quentin in LF, and Maggs in RF. But no, everyone wants to see Vlad and Ichiro. Let me guess- Bonds is on the ballot??
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 06:14 PM) With the two Beckhams, Posey, Crow, Hosmer, Alvarez, Smoak, Skippy, and Alonso in the draft, you'd have to think we can get one of them. You named 9 players. We have the 8th pick. Checking everything, I think we have a good chance of landing one of the 9. BTW, if Alvarez is there for us and we don't pick him, you can count on one remote control going through a TV. Look, if a guy gets compared to Pujols, you take him. Use Crede as trade bait for somebody, however, you keep Fields around. If Alvarez gets hurt or isn't progressing, he's there for a reason, and maybe if Quentin goes back to his old self and gets hurt repeatedly, we can try Fields in LF and Alvarez at 3B.
  17. Since there have been some trade proposals here, how about- Buehrle, Swisher, and Crede to the Pirates for Jason Bay and Jose Bautista. This way, PIT wouldn't have to draft Pedro Alvarez, and instead go get another piece to their puzzle. I know Bay may be hard to pry off their hands, but he's always in trade rumors and his BA is always hovering around .290. He'd hit 30 HR in our park. Bautista hits around .260 but maybe then we can put him in AAA and bring up Fields.
