Up to this point, Rickie Weeks has to be considered a bust, does he not? And I've never heard of that Sleeth dude the Tigers have.

QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 11:29 AM) What's our pick in the 2nd, anyway? And a very odd question -- will there be any point guards available? It's strange, but we may actually need another pg, even after adding Rose, and even considering how crowded our backcourt is. If the Bulls take Rose, they'll be looking to deal Hinrich, and Duhon could be gone. Gordon SUCKS at the point. I mean, you could get by without someone. Gordon or Hughes could bring the ball up a few times a game. But it's not an ideal situation. It's the 9th overall pick in the 2nd round. And, Mario Chalmers will probably still be around, so he's a PG. Duhon will probably be gone, as he's an UFA. And yes, Gordon does stink. He can't play a lick of defense. -

QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 12:35 PM) Okay... still no link. Can anyone confirm this? Bruce Levine reported it on ESPN1000. -
Wasn't this Hochevar guy the #1 overall pick in like 2002 or so?

QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 01:31 AM) Oakland beat Detroit 5-4 in 11 innings. eeeeYES!

He better get in, and if he's not a starter which is likely the case, Francona better pick him.

QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 10:51 PM) I think Pittsburgh is a bad example, as there was a reason they had all those high draft picks the last few years. About Sharp on the shootout; wasn't he like 1-7 at one point last year? Kane is all but automatic, Toews is a stud, but I'd rather have someone else (and please no Havlat). I thought it was all but a formality that Lalime was going to be gone next season. I'd like Redden, Liles and an offensive threat (preferabily a power forward but that won't happen so hopefully Buf toughens up). I'd rather go with #1 PP QB available (Campbell) and another top notch forward (Jagr) since we can't pay both Campbell and Hossa huge money, or go with the #1 forward available (Hossa) and the #2 PP QB available (Liles). -
Cleveland loses, so does Minny, Detroit tied at 3 in the 5th. Let's go Oakland!

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 11:31 PM) They might need a DH... Thome for which Sawk?

Twins lose, Tribe down 4 in the 7th, and Detroit tied at 0's in the 4th. Come on Texas, finish 'em off, and come on Oakland, get a few runs!

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:54 PM) Jagr was crying in Pittsburgh while playing with Mario. And Hossa cried playing with Kovalchuk. All he wants to do is win. I guarantee if he playing with Detroit, Pittsburgh, San Jose, etc., he'd keep his mouth closed. We're going to win next year, maybe even 52 games. He'll keep his mouth shut, and if he doesn't, we'll take a pay cut but not one that'll affect us forever or anything, like if we did it to Hossa. -
BearSox said this already, but just to restate it- Mayo says we have Alonso, Cashner, and Smoak on our radars.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:48 PM) He's a team cancer, a whiner, a diver, old, the opposite of a leader, and will be highly overpaid by someone. It's money spent much better elsewhere. Wouldn't you whine if you played in an awful Washington system for practically your whole career? Highly overpaid- I doubt it. He'll get $4 a year at the most, I just hope, we get Hossa, we offer him about $3.1 a year for 2 years. He's like Hossa, stats wise. Hossa hasn't exactly been Mr. Great Locker Guy, either, as he complained his way out of Atlanta. -
QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) What was Ramirez's error? I didnt get to see the game. How has his defense been the last few games? I missed it, the only part of the game I missed, in fact. In the past few games, really good. Made 4 or 5 web gems in the TB series.

QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) Let's hope Minny loses and we can pick up a game. Down 5-3 in the 9th, are those Twinkies.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) Jagr is a big b****. As far as Crawford goes, there's no way he can be the starter next year. Habby is not the future, but that's irrelevant. You don't play the younger goalie next year - you play the better one. Next year isn't a rebuilding year. You dress the best team possible. You've expressed your dislike/like of Jagr, all of you have. Now just explain why. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:15 PM) I'm off tomorrow and have the opportunity to go to Miller Park tomorrow afternoon and sit right behind home plate for $95, but am gonna be lazy and watch it for free from my lazy boy. Grow a set, get up off your lazy behind, and go- it's a beautiful ballpark. Just jokin', except the beautiful part.

QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:48 PM) No definitely not Hughes for Wade straight up (unless you're Kevin McHale trading with Boston here). Wade gives you 25 points a game, and is a top 5 player in the league. palehosefan will probably know more, but Wade to me wasn't as injured as people were making out, and just because of Miami's record, there was no real point of playing him towards the end of the season. And he's only 25-26, not even hit his prime argubly yet. What if Rose becomes the next Baron Davis? Good but not great by any means. Could very well happen. And he could be the next Kidd with a better jumper.

QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:06 PM) boy is he rough with the glove. hopefully he's a quick learner. He had 4 or 5 web gems against TB. Except today, he's been more then I've expected in the field.

Nothin' like just enjoying the offense. Why can't we ever just win 13-0? Oh wait, refer to the upper-most section of my sig.
-
I forgot to ask- who are these guys hitting for the White Sox tonight?
-
After tonight, he might be around .265.
