  1. I'd do Gordon/1st pick for Wade/2nd pick. Although, Pax better be totally convinced Wade is healthy, or else it's like Gordon/Rose for Beasley.
  2. I love the sarcasm as when trade proposals are made with Swisher, saying that we'd get a lot for him now. Well, would you rather trade him when he's hitting? If there is actually such thing for a .245 career hitter..
  3. HE CALLS IT AND GETS IT!! LETS GO PENS!!!!!!!! SAY IT WITH ME- DEEE-TROIT SUCKS!
  4. What an awesome game. I don't care if I'm up until 3...
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 09:52 PM) I thought the Rangers resigned Jagr? Or am I mistaken and they are still in talks for an extension? According to nhlnumbers.com, they must still be in talks. He's a cheaper version of Hossa, minus some points. If he can give us 30 goals and 30 assists, we'll have 5 players who could do that next year- him, Toews, Kane, Sharp, and a healthy Havlat.
  6. from chicagosports.com Not sure if I'd make the trade. I'll have to think it through. Would a lineup of Hinrich Wade Deng Beasley Gooden be good enough to win the East?
  7. Wish list: Jagr- 2 years, $6.2 million Campbell- 5 years, $36 million OR Hossa- 4 years, $30 million Liles- 3 years, $12.3 million
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 09:52 PM) Thome for Crisp and Masterson If we can get Masterson, I'd throw Swisher in the deal.
  9. Agreed on Okafor. He'd be too much, and like somebody said, Noah could be a 15-9 guy in a few years, so there's no need in trading the organization for Okafor.
  10. QUOTE (quickman @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 09:50 PM) how about thome for coco crisp. Red sox need a DH and we could use crisp. I'm just saying. Isn't it sad that a .250 hitter would be an upgrade over our current CF? Good lord.
  11. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) I don't think I ever proposed a trade for him. I simply said I'd love him as a White Sox. What would be your proposal in the event they did make a push for him, then?
  12. Zambrano is a damn wackjob. Strugglin through 2 already. Luckily he got the pickoff, otherwise he couldn't throw a strike to save himself. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 08:11 PM) They still only have one real good pitcher. Arizona has 3 when RJ is healthy, the Mets have Johan, and the Phils have Hamels. I'm not worried about the Cubs doing a damn thing in the postseason. You say the Cubs won't succeed in October because they only have 1 real good pitcher, and then you say NYM has Santana and PHI has Hamels.
  13. Boy, do I love the thought of Marian Hossa wearing the Indian Head next year. However, many think 7-8 a year for Campbell is too much, I would personally love getting him, then getting a cheaper Jagr who'd cost us 3 a year at the most and give us 30 goals and 30 assists.
  14. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 07:44 PM) I'd love to see Ethier roaming around LF and Q in RF for us. And yea, Colletti wouldn't do that deal, but it also wouldn't make sense for us to deal three starters for one. You think trading Swish, PK, and Crede for Kemp is a stupid idea, yet you propose we get Either?? Who do you plan on trading for him- OC straight up? Come on.
  15. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 06:14 PM) I don't know if Richar will ever be anything as a major leaguer, but I am pretty certain he will rake in AAA if you give him enough time. What good does that do us, though, besides being possible trade bait?
  16. Who are our top 5 best offensive and pitching prospects? All you hear about is Fields, Poreda, and Broadway. If that's our best, we're in trouble. Can I get the top 5 for both, with a stat or 2 backing it up? Thanks.
  17. At one time one of our best prospects, now he goes to s***. Joy!
  18. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 03:54 PM) I saw last week a minor leaguer got traded for a bunch of bats. If we need one that bad Im sure we got someone in the minors that can demand at least one good bat. Yeah. We can try this tactic with Thome, Swisher, and/or Konerko.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 05:31 PM) Welcome aboard I actually wouldn't be opposed to Owens now that he's swinging a solid bat. More importantly though, his left handed bat plus speed would be an asset off the bench. I'm not saying he should be starting over Anderson (if the Sox opt to give Anderson more starts in CF) but I do think he could have a very valuable off the bench (situational bunting, base running, etc). Plus him sitting on the bench isn't like some superstar prospect sitting and having there development slowed (since the reality is, Owens is a role player). The bottom line is- he's not a major league player, and I'd rather give our best offensive prospect some major league time in Fields (until the draft, he is our best prospect offensively). Use him as DH, and when Crede needs a day off, stick him at 3B and Thome at DH.
  20. QUOTE (kane0730 @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) Fukudome would have played CF, thus the Swisher trade wouldn't have happened. Why do you think anybody would want our garbage?? These trade idea are becoming more and more absurd. I understand, but if Fukudome didn't want to come here for 2 reasons: 1, he wanted to be an organization's first Japanese player. 2, he didn't want to play CF but RF instead. Well, Crede isn't exactly garbage. Practically all his errors have been throwing, and so that can easily be fixed- just don't be so non-chalant. And, he's still hitting, what, .270, which is better then what their current 3B is giving them. PK could turn it around and I bet is still intriguing to most teams. Swisher- well, yeah, you're right, he's awful. BTW, I noticed somebody mentioned Juan Pierre. That wouldn't be a bad idea, at all, actually. Sure, his OBP isn't great .350, but he has 20 SBs and his BA is around .280. Maybe it'll take Swisher and Uribe, maybe another prospect, too.
  21. QUOTE (wsgdf_2 @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 04:22 PM) If you want to talk BP in relation to the Cuban league, you might also want to point out that Silver's PECOTA projection for Alexei's 2008 season with the Sox is: .295/.340/.451 with 13 HRs That was in SI a few months back. It's interesting, but I'd be surprised if he got to that. I wouldn't bet against 18 HR, but .295 will be tough. .275, no so much.
