QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 08:24 PM) I didn't know we drafted Danks' brother. We took KW's son and Ozzie's son- I knew it was going to happen, as did many on this board.

That'll do it. Score again, and bring in Esty.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 07:58 PM) Once again, it seems that whenever people try to discredit Kobe the phrase "he's not better than MJ" is thrown out there. Kobe said in an interview himself last week that he wanted nothing to do with being compared to MJ. I know MJ is the best to ever play the game and with Kobe being the best there is currently, the comparisons are gonna happen. People like Mark Jackson will even tell you that Kobe's better, personally I think that's because MJ had some of his best moments against teams Jackson was on, but that's another story. So believe me, i'll never compare the 2. You know he wants to be better then him. What do you want him to say- I want to be better then Jordan and I think I am? Come on. But, I agree. He isn't MJ- never will be.

Dotel should go next inning, too, than Line, then Bobby.
-
How did I know this was coming? Should have brought Dotel in awhile back.
-
Nothin' like gettin' your pitcher a 4 run lead, only for him to give them 1 right back. Bring in Dotel!

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 04:24 PM) As being a HUGE Jordan homer, I don't like the Kobe=Jordan talk as much as anybody. But I think some of the MJ homers on the board have to consider that Kobe is probably the best player in the game currently, and everyone has an off night. The man has 24 points and now it's as if he's all of a sudden overrated. No, I never said he's over-rated, and I never said he wasn't the best player in the game currently. But when does being the best player NOW make you the best player EVER? Here are some stats, between Kobe's playoff career and MJ's playoff career: Jordan FG% MIN REB STL FT% FTPG REBPG PTSPG 49 7474 1152 376 83 9.9 6.4 33 Kobe FG% MIN REB STL FT% FTPG REBPG PTSPG 45 5731 741 194 80 7.7 5 25 Again, never compare the 2. Oops, almost forgot rings- MJ: 6, Kobe: 3 So, yet again, never compare the 2.

QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 05:03 PM) Uh, the way the ball appears like a beam of light off his bat, with Jones and the umpire perfectly clear and everything else fuzzy is perfect. OOOO, like a god-like sign...

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 01:50 PM) LOL, was I the only one who watched the clinching games for titles 1 (Pax) 3 (Pax) and 5 (Kerr)? LOL, was I the only one who saw double teams, slide overs to make sure MJ didn't take the shot? Kobe was in a 1-on-1 yesterday, and couldn't do anything with it.

Bulls do not hire Doug Collins as head coach
whitesoxbrian replied to thedoctor's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Hmm... The other day, a South Bend radio, or was it a TV??, station reported Paxson is on the short list to become AD of Notre Dame. The rumor then had it that would make Collins the GM of the Bulls, and he'd go out on a coaching search. Maybe the Paxson to ND idea is going to become a reality, and Collins wanted no part of being the GM of the Bulls. I'd still rather have Jackson or Johnson instead of Flip, but after Jackson's comments yesterday that Kobe is just as good as MJ on any given night, he can go jump off a bridge. Give me Avery- forget Flip. OR, maybe D'Antoni will pull a Billy Donovan, pull out of his NY contract, and sign with the Bulls, as he could do wonders with Rose. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) A legit up and coming team? I dont understand your comment. I think he means the most recent, awful, Bill Wirtz era Blackhawks. -
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 05:46 AM) I think the Sox will face Nick Blackburn 50 times this season. Didnt he get popped by a batted ball a week ago? I believe it was him- I know Abreu hit it. Winning the first one of this series could turn out huge. Let's get a W!

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 10:53 PM) Throw sliders to Soriano, inside fastballs to Theriot (with your 2nd baseman playing him like he's a pull lefty), and sliders to Soto. I do like the Cubs having Soto, Edmonds, and Derosa batting in order. The PEDs boy should be their nickname. Low and away. I wouldn't throw him a fastball unless it was a waste pitch- high and tight.
