Sparky Anderson or Joe Torre. I actually think Gardenhire is the best right now, though.

I'm thinkin' they'll play it, because it's a 1:05 game. Even if it starts at 3, they can still finish around 6, in time for the Sox to get to Detroit and Minnesota to get to...where-ever.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 11:15 PM) Alabama/Auburn football is pretty big. As is Georgia/Florida and LSU/Auburn. -
Just win 1 in LA and it'll be a title for certain.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 09:35 PM) Its pretty funny because it was created by ESPN. And UM/OSU deserves SOME credit huh? They've only been playing heated matches since the 1800's...... Actually, it started when Art Heyman (sp?) and Larry Brown got into a fight. Although, I will agree, ESPN did help escalate it big time. And it wasn't supposed to sound like that- I meant UCLA/USC, Michigan/OSU, GB/Bears, Wings/Hawks, Habs/Leafs all are great rivalries as well. It's hard to pick "THEE" best, though. -
Indians, Royals, and obviously the Twins all lose today.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 05:22 PM) Duke/UNC? LOL Everything out of this guy's mouth is pretty hilarious I don't think this is funny, and I don't remember anything else being funny that I've said. But, I just say Duke/UNC is the best just because I am a Duke fan, and it is pretty heated. I don't know how to make a case for "THE" best rivalry. Michigan/OSU football deserves some credit, too. -
Boston up 20 at the start of the 4th. Way to go, "MJ".

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 04:58 PM) If Keith continues to play like this, he will be worth way more than 4 a year, plus, those two numbers to Toews/Kane are way low. PLUS, you're talking about adding either Hossa or Campbell this season, as well as Miller next year. To get those guys, it's 4-5 year commitments, at least. Welcome to Tampa Bay. It's possible, but if we put 4+ a year in front of him during the season, he'd bite, IMO. And, the numbers on Toews and Kane aren't low. Sure, they had nice years, 1 over 60 points and the other over 70, but there's no way 1 or the other deserves more than Malkin (.98) or equal to Iginla (7). Actually, my last post on who I wanted was Liles and Malone, which would cost us around 7 or 8. I finally realized that investing our whole cap space into 1 guy would be a dumb move, because of the fact that we need a good forward AND a good PP QB, not just the best of either one. And Miller will be 4.5 at the most a year, so it's not like it'll be be 6 like Khabby got. Let's say we sign Liles and Malone. Liles at 3 a year, Malone at 3. We will then have 18.75 cap space going into next offseason, which isn't including the potential resigning of Ladd this offseason, as he is a RFA. Let's say we don't resign him, so it's 17.75. Miller at 4 a year Kane at 5 a year Toews at 5 a year Keith at 4.75 a year ________________ 18.75 Bingo. And, we could have an even bigger cap room next offseason as Brouwer, Berti, Eager, Dowell, Bolland, and Barker are all RFA's (except I think we'll give Barker about $1 a year for 2 years, as he's struggled but is only 21 y.o.). -
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 03:56 PM) They need to keep this up. The more distance we can put between the sox and the rest of the AL Central the better. Its a nice cushion for later. Sure is. Nice to see the Tiggers win 2/3 from Cleveland to set them another game back.

A 5.5 game lead would be nice, but a 6.5 would be just so much sweeter. So, in context, what I'm saying is-

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) Don't forget UNC and Dook. Actually, Duke/UNC is the best rivalry in sports. But, this is great news. I'd love to embarrass or just beat the Cubs for the whole nation to see...twice. -

QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 03:44 PM) Back to back sweeps against divisional opponents and a 7 game win streak would definitely be sweet. Especially going into Detroit, then coming home for the Pirates and Rockies. Those are 3 more series's that we could sweep and we more than likely will win.

QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 02:45 PM) The point Tony is making is that after this season the 12 money or so that Havlat and Bulin make will be free yes, but you'll have to earmark that for JT and Patrick. The Hawks are going to have to give each of those guys at least 6-8 million per year. So that money in which you just freed up is already gone. Actually, Lang's will be up after next season so that'll be about another $3.5 million freed up. That's only $10 million between 2 guys, and then I'd give Keith $4 million a year, probably 4 years, $17 million. -
I looooooove it.

Always a nice guy and I hope he finds a job soon- just not on the SouthSide of Chicago. We don't need a guy who can't hit right now, plain and simple.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 08:41 AM) I got the 15 inning one . Wasn't that part of the streak ? My bad, but that's because I was at the game. If the streak continues, only somebody else can make it if I'm there.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 06:54 AM) I'd still rather have Fields, but his suckage at AAA this year is a bit worrisome. How can you say that? Crede's glove is better (despite his throws this year) and his bat is better, when healthy.

I've just learned our cap space for this offseason is $8 million, which probably gives us either Campbell, Hossa, or the 2nd best PP QB and the a good forward. So, I'll be satisfied with Ryan Malone who'd be about 3 a year, and Liles who'd be about 4 a year. Next year, since Lang, Khabby, and Havlat will all be gone, we'll have about $16 in cap space, which could get us the best goalie out there (Ryan Miller from the Sabres is probably the best out there), and the best forward (not sure who that is). -
