QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) Wow, Cubs get 4 gift runs after Acosta drops a grounder right back to him. At least Hudson is going on Thursday. But so is Zambrano.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 10:06 PM) Lets discuss this progress Alexei has 6 strikeouts since May 23 wasnt this thought to be a weakness? Sure was. This guy is a player, just ask Hawk- he just drools over him. And, he goes 2-3 today with a SB (and a CS). His BA has to be over .300.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 09:48 PM) I am not sure if this is ag ood thing or a bad thing but this team gives away more games or I should is in position to win more games than they are ever truely beaten in. Again, I am not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing. Guillen and Cox with some really poor decisions. These three games should be balls out. The next six are meaningless after this series. Contreras in the 7th was stupid and pointless. He was getting hit hard, really hard. With the Tiger pen you are never out of it. First off, every game should be "balls out". These guys are getting paid enough where they should give 110% every game. Secondly, the next 6 aren't meaningless. So what, if the Twins win all 6 and we lose all 6, it doesn't matter? Those 6 should be all wins, with MAYBE one loss.

Kobe slaps the hell outta whoever it was shooting the 3, and he says he didn't foul him.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) I wanted to complain about the umpire....but then I found out it was Doug Eddings. http://www.beastee.com/firstbasedoug.html

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:16 PM) He didnt have his fork ball working for him tonight which is key to his success, he just didnt have it tonight, but the defense really didnt play that spectacular either, if AJ catches JDs peg at the plate that saves a run. A couple of bobbles from Swish and O-Cab also today. But they clearly had the oppurtunities to score more runs, Quentin was thrown out at the plate and O-Cab got caught stealing 2nd when had a terrible jump. Its only 1 loss. Lets rebound and get them tommorow, i'll take 1 win from Detroit. Not to mention a few more mistakes- 1. Ozzie sending Lexi again. 2. Cox sending TCQ home. 3. Swisher gets walked, then it's 1-0 to Crede, and he swings and grounds into a 5-4-3 DP.

The Cubs will have 43 wins by the time this series is over, and probably around 60 when the ASB comes. JOY!

QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 06:36 PM) Len just said that Zambrano will be moved up so he pitches on his normal rest and Marquis will be set back so dont expect these matchups quoted here Yeah, just heard that as well. Looks like you guys called it- Lou will set it up so we have to face Z atleast once. Checking the sortable schedule on cubs.com, we'll see Gallagher, Lilly, Dempster in the 1st series, and Lilly, Dempster, and Z in the 2nd. That old, senile, ba$tard Piniella.

Not lookin' good. Here's to hopin' we tie it up. Talk to you guys after the game!

It's cool. Pick him up, OC!

Come on, Lexi!

QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 06:43 PM) Thome on third 1 out, common guys! Don't forget Swisher's on 2nd.

What was Thome doin' there?

QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 06:41 PM) Who in the blue f*** is Brent Clevlen? Looks like Mickey Mantle to me.
-
Alright, let's go, come on now.

Not good so far. I hope we can get 1 or 2 this inning...

He is awful. I bet the management up in Detroit is happy they are giving him $9 million a year.

QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) I think that's a tough sell. KC, Buffalo, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, and Baltimore are all pretty awful. Buffalo has a solid year last year. Marshawn Lynch is an absolute monster, and Trent Edwards showed promise toward the end of the year. Lee Evans is a viable #1 WR, and they just added "sure thing" 1st round WR James Hardy out of Indiana in the 2nd round. Also, I understand ATL still has no OL (although they did trade up to get Sam Baker out of USC), and Matt Ryab WILL be an upgrade over Joey Harrington, and they added Michael Turner. But yeah, KC is bad and so are the Ravens and Dolphins.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 08:34 PM) Sabathia better net more than just Gallagher. You gotta look at what the Twins got for Johan, and increase it since he will be in HIGH demand. There are a few teams in the league that could make really good pitches for him. I never said JUST Gallagher, I said they would want Gallagher, along with probably Pie, Smardajiza, and Vitters.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 12:17 PM) I have thought about it many times before and came to the conclusion no matter what the outcome it wouldnt be good for my health.

QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 07:50 PM) The Cubs will make a pitch for CC Sabathia with Hill, Pie, Murton and another prospect or 2 Actually, Cleveland would probably want Gallagher, and if the Cubs wouldn't give that up for Roberts, I don't see them giving him up for Sabathia.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 04:24 PM) The Cubs don't scare me one bit. Outside of Zambrano, who we have hit before, their rotation isn't scary at all and they've benefited from playing s*** teams like Pittsburgh, Houston, Colorado, etc a trillion times. Same here. Not to mention Lee is struggling. I think we can easily take 4/6 from the Scrubs, maybe even 5/6 or 6/6.
