QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 03:48 PM) I think Big Toby goes deep for the first time as a Sox. Good call.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) Embarrassing because he's overcome emotionally from winning his first nba title that he's worked so long for? Yeah, embarrassing alright. Agreed. I can't imagine what Iverson will say when he wins one.

2008 Chicago Cubs Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 07:23 PM) Zambrano just left the game with some sort of right shoulder discomfort. That would be a big loss for them. Again, I never wish upon injury, but I'd love to see this put him out for 3-4 starts. L, 5-4.

BTW, Gorzelanny is 1-4 with a 9.1 ERA on the road this year (if that hasn't been established yet).

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 05:05 PM) I assume by way under, you just assume he'll hit 3 triples instead of 3 home runs. He's going to hit for the cycle but not get advanced every time he gets on.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 04:42 PM) I'll take it. Over/under on Hall total bases tonight? I'll set the mark at 12. Under. Way under. I'm still confused. I think it should be Dye, Crede, Thome, Q from 3-6, but whatever I guess.

Trade deadline
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 04:08 PM) Well if we're going to do that we should try to trade Josh Fields for Hanley Ramirez. And then package him up with Crede and deal them to NYY for A-Rod and Jeter, right?

Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 03:16 PM) That's kinda short for a PF. He's almost aSF at that point. If THAT's the case, than Rose is the pick. Agreed. I'll take Rose's 40" vertical, which is like the 3rd best ever I believe, and his wingspan which is like 6'9".

starting pitcher 09 Clayton Richard??
If Contreras shows he can still pitch throughout this season, then he deserves a spot in the rotation next year. It'll be Buehrle, Vazquez, Danks, Floyd, Contreras. Now, if Jose shows he's back to the way he pitched last season, then we can make room by trading/releasing him, and then bring up a guy like Richard, Broadway, or Egbert.

Tribe lose, but the Tigers are up 4-1 in the 9th, KC won, and the Twins won. At least we gain a game on the Indians.

WHITE SOX WINNER!
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 09:36 PM) I started feeling bad for Pitt. Hope we didn't blow our wad for tomorrow. Buehrle went 8 last year with only 1 ER @ PIT last year (I remember that because I was there). Hopefully he can go 7 tomorrow with only 1 or 2 runs so we only need 4-6 runs of offense.

Sox have most to gain in City Series
QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 07:46 PM) I'm confused how any fan would be "fine" with winning 2 out of 6 games against anybody. Well, probably because we just lost 2/3 against one of the worst teams in the league, and the Cubs are going to throw Lilly (who's ERA is dropping steadily), Marquis (who has been pitching well as of late), and Dempster (who is lights out) at us, which calls for about a 5 run total for 3 games.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 10:17 PM) I have this feeling that Danks is going to slug a HR on Friday. That'd be nice... As long as he doesn't drive in the lone runs.

What was that comment DJ made earlier- "I love ______"? Fill in the blank for me. Thanks! Feels good to kick the hell out of a team, hopefully we don't play like our normal selves tomorrow and lose 2-1. AJ 3-6, Swisher 3-3, Cabrera has to be like 3-5 or so, too.

Dewayne Wise is up Paul Konerko to the DL
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 02:35 PM) I hope he keeps raking. I would like to see him get a chance at the majors if he has a hot bat. Im sure Dye would have to get hurt though. David Cook sings AND plays baseball??

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) Pirates didn't have Jack Wilson for any of those games, and Doumit was out for 6 as well. Where's Bixler! But they won't have Nady for the series against us, correct?
