Correct.

Who was the third?

I think Kent Mercker was the other one, but one was either rain shortened or he didn't pitch the whole game, so I'm not sure if that counts.

And if it's not him, it has to be Nolan Ryan.

How many wins would Greg Maddux need to move into 3rd place all time in career wins?

Wow, 3rd all time? I know he's had a hell of a career and hardly missed any starts, but i never thought he'd have a chance with how many games the pitchers of the past used to pitch. However, since you made this question, i figured it had to be relatively close. My guess was 20. I looked it up. He can make 3rd all time....but getting up to 2nd place will be tough.

Greg Maddux is the best pitcher of this generation, no questions asked.

No doubt. And to have a pitcher from our generation within grasps of winning the THIRD most games in the history of the game...that is simply amazing. Kudos, Mr. Maddux :cheers

I believe it is Harmon Killebrew but it is a little ambiguous since I remember hearing it is shot from a reverse angle or something.
