QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 29, 2009 -> 07:36 AM) For all the talk about the 12th man, it definitely was the loudest stadium I ever heard, although some of it is a bit cheesy, like the free sodas for 3 false start penalties. Its amazing how in sync an offense has to be to only have 3 false start penalties when you basically cant hear anything on the field. Awesome road game to be at and thank you Devin Hester for shutting up the 12th man at the end. Definitely a good amount of Bears fans at the game. As long as we dont screw anything up Sunday, will be nice to be 3-1 heading into the bye. The two weeks after, there are road games at ATL & the suddenly relevant Bengals. Also still have road games at SF, BAL & the Vikings this season. They had the rankings for most false start penalties caused since 2005, and Soldier Field was 3rd behind Qwest & the Metrodome. It definitley was. I saw the Bears play in Indy last year, and I figured Qwest had no chance to match the noise. Well, it did. It's hard to believe how Soldier Field was #3. I noticed that, too. Being a Bears STH, it's such a huge difference in crowd noise. You could hear a pin-drop in Soldier Field compared to Qwest. Last year, when the Bears had that violent game against Tampa, that was the loudest I've heard it, but even that wasn't close to Lucas Oil or Qwest. -

I have the Cowboys and Texans D in fantasy. After Dallas pisses me off for 2 weeks, I play Houston. Now, it comes back to f*** me. -

Jevan Sneed just seems overmatched out there. I'd say he's barely a first round prospect. Dexter McCluster, on the other hand, is a f***ing stud. I'm shocked that I don't see him going in the first 3 rounds of a mock draft I read that gets updated on a weekly basis. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 21, 2009 -> 02:49 PM) With the injuries, this is definitely a very winnable road game for the Bears, and with Detroit coming to Soldier Field the next week, they should be looking at 3-1 headed into the bye week. I'm making the trip out to Seattle for the game this weekend, see what the whole 12th man BS is truly about, hopefully watch the Bears bring home a victory, should be a good time. Same here. I can't wait to hear the artificial sound...I mean 12th Man...live. I want to see if Qwest is louder than Lucas Oil; that place was rocking last year when I saw the Bears play in Indy. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 08:46 PM) I still don't think the Bears are very good, and the Vikings now appear a strong favorite to win the North (although admittedly they have beaten 2 piles of crap so far). But Cutler was very good today (they don't win that game with Orton obviously, and it was nice to see Cutler actually have a pick free game), and the Packers performance makes me think this division might not be as tough as I thought. But the Bears still are going nowhere if they don't find a run game, and the loss last week was still atrocious. If you are expecting fans who dare *gasp* cast a critical eye on their team to all of a sudden have no concerns because of a win that was aided in large part by their opponent, you are sadly mistaken. Bears are in a pretty good position if they can win next week though (and Hasselbeck might be out) because the schedule is cupcake city after that. The Bears beat the defending champs and lose a week before by 6 points even with 4 turnovers, and you give them no credit. Wow, are you TerraTor from TalkBears? The Vikings have beat 2 teams that can be beaten by a squad constructed of people in my neighborhood, and you're already declaring them the favorites. Like I said, the Bears will be 3-1 going into the bye, and the Falcons the week after aren't having an eye-popping year by any means either. -

Being an SC fan isn't so fine and dandy lately. They always have to lose a Pac-10 game, and with road games still looming against Oregon and Cal, they could end up with 2 P10 losses which I'm not sure is good enough to win the conference. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 09:22 PM) I don't get how somebody can point to the schedule and say the Bears are fine. The Packers and Vikings, who are both better teams than the Bears, are playing basically the same schedule. If you aren't concerned about the Bears right now, than you're guilty of what we make fun of Cubs fans for having so much, which is blind optimism. Yeah it's only one loss last week, but this is the NFL and you only play 16 games, so every game is vital. Well, the Vikings and Packers go to Arizona and Pittsburgh.. -

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 03:39 PM) You think that secondary's gonna be able to hold Atlanta & Arizona eh? I love Bears fans sometimes. They held down the almighty Aaron Rodgers, the god given Greg Jennings, and the saint himself Donald Driver, yes? Plus, I'll take my chances with Arizona coming to Chicago a week and a day into November in possible rain/wind/cold/even snow possibly. Also, Atlanta has 2 guys to throw to- White and Gonzalez. Douglas was a huge loss. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 09:35 AM) I'm not sure why Vasher wasn't outright cut this summer, even with the general and depth issues the Bears have at defensive back. He is just a useless player right now. I can't speak for others, but my feeling is that in a little over two weeks, the Bears are going to be 0-3 and toast. I think they'll be 2-1. It's an emotional game on Sunday being the first home game, and the Seahawks are gonna be without their LT, C, and #1 CB. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 09:35 PM) CQ still has a lot to learn about hitting IMO. I am not just saying this cause Gavin is getting lit up. But he's 11-10. Why do we all assume our rotation is going to be unstoppable next year. Gavin is not Tom Seaver. Danks is not Sandy Koufax. They are good, but why are we assuming next year will be balls out excellence?? They started out super slow this year. Danks, IMO, took a step back this year. I expected Danks to be something like 17-9 or something, but I guess I expected a lot. If Peavy stays healthy, Floyd starts out fast, and Danks gets consistent, they'll have a damn good staff next year. Problem is, that's a lot of "ifs". -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 07:02 PM) Ron Turner is just not very good. Mannelly's explanation made sense. If there really are 12 guys on the field, you get a free shot at the conversion. But you better make damn well sure there's still 12 guys on the field. IIRC, a "too many men" penalty is just a 5 yard penalty. Even if they would've gotten the call, it would've been 4th and 6. IMO, you don't take the chance unless your 100% sure or if your at the 50 beyond, not on your own 30. EDIT- STRANGESOX BEAT ME TO THAT ONE. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 06:24 PM) Why didn't the Bears work more short and intermediate passes to Olsen and Forte last night? That really surprised me. I'm not sure. Well, JC has never really thrown to his RB's. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 06:40 PM) Bills to AFC title game Just stop. -

So a day after, I'm actually encouraged as a Bears fan. They lost the TO battle 4-0, wasted 2 challenges on obvious calls, had an idiotic direct snap by the ever reliable Patrick Mannelly, their $15m new LG Frank Omiyale looked terrible, Olsen and Forte had a combined 1 catch, Tinosamoa and Urlacher missed practically the whole game, and they lost by 6 points on a TD with 1:10 left + a 2 point conversion. If it takes all that to beat the Bears by 6 in a tough place to play like Green Bay, I still think the Bears can win 10 games. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 04:09 PM) Are you trying to say that one pass was really impressive? So you are saying USC isnt the 3rd best team in the country? Where would you rank them then? I didnt realize you thought they were entirely pedestrian. I was very happy that OSU played the way they did after losing their entire LB core, both DB's, one of the best RB in the country and their veteran WR core who are all also in the NFL. Very proud indeed. If Tress didnt s*** down his leg, I would be even happier coming out of that game with a win. No, but considering he wasn't even using his right hand in postgame stuff, I'd say that was impressive. And I do think they are, but I think they'll finish with 1 or 2 losses (@ Cal, maybe even this weekend @ WASH, maybe @ ORE on Halloween). -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 03:41 PM) Nice quote, are you still not able to understand what he meant? its not really that hard to understand the concept of second chances. And why doesnt his age and experience factor into your expectations of the kid again? Because the QB across the field tossed 3 yard passes to a RB who carried his team to the win? Barkley didnt do s*** in that last drive, so not sure how his age affects the obvious lofty expectations you have for Pryor. Tressel killed his team in that game, absolutely fumbled the play calling as soon as they went ahead. This has been his downfall for YEARS. If you watched the game then you noticed Pryor has some throws he could make last year, and you also noticed that he made some youthful mistakes in a huge game against one of the best teams in the country. A game which you and just about every other person on this board thought would be a blowout. The one thing everyone should come out of that game knowing is that the young talent that OSU is recruiting is legit and is directly on par with what the top teams in the country have. By the end of the season, this young Buckeye team is going to be extremely dangerous, and even more so next season. His 10 yard pass to McKnight which turned into about a 23 yard pass, and his pass to McCoy for about 28 yards is s***. Totally agree. Anyways, I wouldn't be so proud of the Buckeyes if I were you. The Trojans have 4 new LB's, they lost 2 CB's, they have a freshman QB, and an average group of WR's besides Damian Williams. -

It's pretty sad how easily you can lose a game. Mannelly, the one who never makes a mistake, snaps it to Hester on their own 30. Lovie challenges a play that isn't even close. The WR's were breaking off routes. Cutler didn't have it. Forte didn't look like he was running very hard with the 2 holes he had all game. -

The D is going to need to score for us to win this game. The OL isn't giving JC enough time or giving Forte/Wolfe any holes. If this game gets up to 17-2, it's over. Wake up, O. -

QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) i honestly think joe mckinght is the best player in college football...too bad musburger turned matt barkleys screen passes into elway vs. the browns.....barkley played slightly less s***ty than terrelle pryor who looked like a f***ing girl out there...god that was an awful awful performance from a guy who is supposed to be a legit heisman contender down the road....i hate USC with a burning passion, but the talent they get year after year is legit...without a doubt its the easiest school in the country to recruit to, but still pete carroll gets the most out of his talent, even if he is a douche amongst douches I wouldn't say he's the best player, even as an SC fan. When he's healthy, which he rarely is, he's pretty damn good though. -
