  1. Suh is THE best player in the country this year. For Tebow to even go to NYC is a joke. Suh's stats (may be 1 or 2 off): 77 tackles, 12 sacks, 25 QB hurries, 17 tackles for loss, 11 deflected passes, and 3 FG/EP blocks.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 06:08 PM) New 5 year deals for Toews and Kane, 13 year deal for Keith. Press conference tonight. CTL is saying it's tomorrow night.
  3. It sounds like he's more an anti-Turner or anti-our OL guy rather then an anti-Cutler guy. However, saying Orton is a winner is implying Cutler isn't, which in other words- Brian, keep your mouth shut.
  4. The Hawks had more points on the roadtrip then the Bears had first downs today. The Hawks had 7 goals in the San Jose game. The Bears had 2 yards on 12 plays in the 2nd half today.
  5. If the Bucs can get Suh, Benn, and a FS like a Nate Allen from USF, they'll be in business. In the mean time, the Bears have no picks to get younger/better and they don't spend money on other teams' FA's to get younger/better. We're about to turn into the Bucs.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 05:02 PM) LOL. Buchholz, Ellsbury, Bard and Casey Kelly for Hanley? And I don't think that's enough. Lester, Buchholz, Ellsbury, Bard + others. And that MIGHT be enough.
  7. The 2nd INT was on the refs. That was obviously PI by Henderson- he hit Bennett before the ball was even close to him.
  8. 50 is cold? I wore a hoody with under armour to the Bears/Browns game which was in the 50's and I was fine. Shows the huge weather differences and expectations.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 28, 2009 -> 08:57 AM) So we kick the s*** out of SJ and get shutout by Anaheim? That is the very definition of let down. Gigure was awesome. He was stopping everything, whether it was slapshots with a Buff screen or a quick wrister. It didn't matter. He was lights out. We can't win every game, you know? We need to atleast get 1 point tonight.
  10. Seriously? This is what the NFL has to offer? We get tortured having to watch the Lions play every f***ing year, and now the Raiders are down 17 at half vs Dallas. Last year, we got to all watch Seattle get blown out in Dallas, too.
  11. They should beat Anaheim as well, and hopefully LA w/o Smyth.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 10:58 PM) Well this is the best team in the West, and the Hawks have owned them twice now. I wouldn't say a 4-3 OT win is owning them, but yeah, I get where you're coming from. In other news, this team is f***ing scary. They have so much talent.
  13. Why do Sharks fans boo Campbell? They should clap that their organization isn't paying him $7.2 per year. In the mean time, Troy Brouwer might net about 25 goals this year. That's huge.
  14. I know Brandon Marshall has said he wouldn't want to play here, but I'd pay that man whatever he wants to come play here.
  15. Considering all the allegations surrounding Sosa, Bonds, Manny, A-Rod, and McGwire, Thomas was arguably the best hitter in the past 10 years.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl with one of the best defenses in the history of the game. That's beyond dominant. And the Broncos didn't have anything close to a dominant team last year. Their Pyth W-L was 6-10. They scored 370 points, which was 16th (middle of the pack) in the NFL. They allowed 448 points, which was 30th (or 3rd worst) in the NFL. They didn't have anything close to a dominant team. Dominant teams don't go 8-8, and never flirt with 8-8. Dominant teams go 10-6 in a bad season. I believe you also just described the 49ers from the 80s, the 49ers from the 90s, the Cowboys from the 90s, the Packers from the 90s, the Bills from the 90s, etc. The Bears don't have an above average defense, they don't have one great wide receiver (unless you think really highly of Devin Hester), and this year, they haven't had anything close to a consistent or respectable running game. The Bears are an awful team. Jesus Christ was the son of God, and he could only turn water into wine - you can't expect Jay Cutler to turn s*** into a trophy. I said Peyton Manning has an above average defense + 1 great WR.
  17. Now that this probably won't happen, what's next?
  18. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 09:31 PM) No offense, but that should never be a reason. I respect if you think he sucks or is overrated as I'm not even a Bears fan, but I disagree. I think he has too crap of a team around him. But again, if this team is crap, then what do you call last year's Denver's team? Pretty good, right? Yeah, and they won 8 games. Yippee.
  19. Exelby has played in 10 games this year, with no points and a -7. Sopel and Barker for Exelby and a 2nd, and I'd consider it. Otherwise, pass.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 05:55 PM) John Elway, Brett Favre, and a fair number of other QB's didn't win when the team around them didn't have the parts. they won when the team around them was just as dominant as they were. If Cutler is going to struggle and cost the Bears games...fine. This season's a wash. Now the Bears need to start filling holes around him. If you put him on a dominant team and he's costing them games, that's a different story. Yeah, and if you put Trent Dilfer on a dominant team, he wins a Super Bowl. Last year, the Broncos had a pretty dominant team aside from the defense, and he went 8-8. Last year, the Bears had an average offense with a bad defense (not as bad as Denver's, but still bad) and they won 9 games. Obviously, if you get on a team that's already dominant, he's going to win. But guys like Peyton Manning are doing it with an above average defense, 1 great WR and 2 young WR's. That's hardly dominant. Am I saying I expect Jay to be a Manning like QB? No. But if he's a franchise QB, he has to be able to carry the team at some points too. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 06:45 PM) Was last night Cutler's fault? Yes. At the same time, citing a team record as to why a QB stinks/overrated is not too smart. I stated many reasons as to why, and that was one of them, not the only one.
  21. IMO, Sopel is actually playing well above expectations. However, those expectations weren't very high. Rumors are swirling that it'd be Sopel and a 2nd round pick for pretty much nothing. In that case, I'd rather deal Barker as he'd bring back more. I've heard possibly Barker to Carolina for Cullen AND Corvo.
  22. I could repost what I posted on TB, but instead, I'll just copy and paste. As I'm sure you all know, I'm a huge Cutler fan. However, he's starting to get on my bad side. Am I denying that the OL sucks? No. Am I denying that the run game isn't there? No. Am I denying that the defense giving up 24 points is good? No. However, in the biggest game of the year, Cutler had to make some throws, and he didn't. He continually missed easy TD's (Hester, Olsen, Knox) and other throws as the game went along. Again, his poor mechanics are...well...poor. I'd do the trade 100 times out of 100. However, maybe this guy just isn't a winner. People make of his Pro Bowl season last year like he won a Super Bowl. Who cares if he made the Pro Bowl? If he were to go 8-8 this year and make the Pro Bowl but we miss the playoffs, are you going to be satisfied? Everyone likes to say he has no talent around him + the coaches suck, but despite having a great WR, a good WR, a great OL, and a great coach last year, he was QBing a team who went 8-8 (IIRC) and lost a 3 game lead in the last 3 weeks of the season.
