  1. Everyone is going to speculate about the DS article in May about his black eye. I do not think these 2 are not coorelated. Honestly, he's been working out all summer, and it's impossible to work out for 2-3 months with a wrist fracture. It seems so weird with Kane. I've never seen a player in Chicago with so many rumors surrounding him. I was reading another board today and someone said he has bulked up with special help from steroids. He'll be ready to go in October.
  2. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 11:43 AM) What they should have done was beat them in the last game of the Reg season to knock them out of the playoffs, but Martz has the Turner curse apparently with his s*** play calling. That's my point. But even then, they lost by 4 points and held Jesus Christ Aaron Rodgers to 10 points. Whatever the case may be, it's a battle when those 2 teams play and the game could go either way.
  3. Bowman just said on AM 720 that Frolik has received a 3 year extension. No word on the money.
  4. $2.3m annually for Frolik is pretty good. He will probably net 17-20 goals next year and be a pest in the playoffs on that Bickell and Bolland line.
  5. Wait, so anybody who thought they could beat the Packers last year was fooling themselves? Are you serious? Everytime the Bears and Packers play each other, it's a close game and it could go either way. The Packers beat the Bears by 7 points because of a pick-6 by the Bears 3rd string QB. GMAFB
  6. Just wondering, but what could the Sox get from Seattle for Quentin? Seattle, with that pitching, is still in the AL West race.
  7. John Kruk believes the player to watch in the 2nd half is Adam Dunn. He thinks he's going to hit 20 HR's and drive in 60 these last 2.5 months. LOL
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 13, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) is it wrong to root for him to be out say, for a weekend? Then again, it's always guys like Boesch that kill the Sox Don't forget Mickey Mantle Raburn, too.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 13, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) That is sad to know we're 0-1 in the second half immediately. Verlander. No f***ing way we can win that game. f***. When the "f***" did I say the Sox are going to lose?
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 11:02 PM) Love that Stalberg is back. One of my favorite players. Stalberg was one of mine through November 15 last year. Then, he hit a wall. I think he can be a decent NHL player. However, his play after that date pissed me off enough where I sold my replica on eBay for only $80 and I paid $180 for it. The question is, what poor soul bought it? QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 13, 2011 -> 06:49 AM) On guys like Steeg, Eager, Niemi, Sopel, Burish etc. your right.. though I still think they could of kept Ladd. And paid him $4.2m/yr? Doubtful.
  11. walterfootball.com always has a good list of FA's. I don't know how much they go into depth regarding the new, potential CBA rules, though/
  12. If there's ever a time to NOT bring up Viciedo, it's today, tomorrow, or Friday before first pitch. Bring him up during the game Friday or Friday night. I don't need to see him, and he doesn't need to, go 0-4 with 4 K's vs Verlander in his 1st game of the season with the Sox.
  13. Like previously said, the "hate" referred to when talking about Jordan Danks is the fact that right now he's nothing but a good defender up to AAA standards. Remember Brian Anderson? That's all he is right now. Therefore, it's laughable that he's even in this poll as an option to bring up and "help" a major league baseball team.
  14. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:18 AM) The trade that you describe is essentially Quentin for Bourne. Quentin is a much better hitter than Bourne (Bourne sports a mighty .351 obp in his CAREER YEAR). That is not an even trade by any means. Next year, his slap hits won't get through the infield as often. Bourne has a career OBP of .335 with 11 homers. That's Podsednik. Quentin for that? Please! Yeah, because we all know getting Podsednik was a horses*** acquisition.
  15. I can't believe Danks is in this discussion. However, I would take myself over Rios right now. He just isn't any good. Viciedo is intriguing because he and Quentin are probably the same guy, meaning Viciedo would probably be doing what Quentin is if he had this playing time in the MLB. I'm going to say Viciedo would be a better option than Dunn, though. There is no way this team can get rid of Rios, though, but like someone said, a Quentin/Rios/Viciedo OF next year is pretty good if Rios can do better than what he has this year. Of course, there is no guarantee of that. Let De Aza and Lillibridge be the super-subs.
  16. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 10:10 PM) What talent are you referring to you in regards to what you have seen from Stalberg? He's a relatively fast skater with very little hockey IQ that really brings no value to the club, especially when it looks like their should be some kids ready to step up and make this team. He's Tony Salmelainen. Relatively fast? Stalberg is probably the fastest skater on the team. He does have some talent. You don't trade Versteeg for a guy who absolutely blows. Stalberg showed glimpses of his talent this year. Remember his SO game winner in Atlanta? Guys who are talentless don't make plays like that. However, like you said, he has very little IQ. Therefore, he makes for a nice guy to trade at the deadline as another throw-in.
