  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 08:58 PM) I don't believe it does, either. But on the small chance it does, KW would be foolish not to pounce. I'm sorry. This is not a World Series caliber team. I don't give two s***s if they go 84-78 and win this division. Something that's very unlikely anyway. I agree, but the Sox can help the future and help the 2011 team by acquiring Rasmus. Even if he doesn't play every day, a platoon of he and Rios is better than Rios every game. For example, I think the Sox can go 84-78 with Rasmus, but it's going to be difficult to finish with 84 wins with Rios' horses*** AB's hitting 6th and Dunn's worthless a** hitting 4th.
  2. Assuming these rumors we've all discussed have been talked about between these teams and their GM's, whether it's Beachy for Quentin, Lowe for Rios, and Thornton/Reed/Jackson/whoever for Rasmus, couldn't the Sox acquire Rasmus and then trade Rios for Lowe? The Rios for Lowe deal be a salary dump for both teams and this would allow the money to be evened out. At the same time, this would obviously make a spot open for Rasmus immediately. FWIW, Lowe (this year) is of much more value to the Sox than Rios is. Rios has been garbage for the Sox this year and will most likely continue to. Meanwhile, Lowe is a dominant 2nd half pitcher in his career. Pierre Ramirez Konerko Dunn Quentin Rasmus Pierzynski Beckham Teahen/Morel Buehrle Danks Floyd Lowe Peavy Humber (in no order) Granted, this may have been discussed already, but I've been out all day.
  3. QUOTE (supernuke @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 03:00 PM) Yeah, it turned out really well. The kids gave me the hat with that logo for my birthday this morning. I think it looks sharp. How did you become a Sox fan living in Winnipeg?
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 08:13 PM) That sucks is was postponed. Had a good pitching match-up in our favor and it's one less game to have team win/lose prior to deadline. Yeah. Huff, being a LHP, just screams "in our favor" to me, too.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 10:11 PM) At the 1:15 mark, it kind of looks like the ref comes in and gives Carcillo a jab to the face. Not my favorite signing, but over the course of an 82-game season, I guess you can use a guy like that in the lineup occasionally. ^^^
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 10:16 PM) There aren't a lot of people who think Montero will be a catcher much longer. Wherever he plays, he's going to hit the s*** out of the ball in the big leagues. FWIW, in my opinion, a lot of big time C prospects will be changing to RF, LF, 1B, or DH. Mauer has started to make the change, Posey might end up doing the same, and Bryce Harper is a RF now.
  7. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) someone bringing up my trade idea from two weeks ago! woooo! though I think NYY would do Danks Montero + Gardner If Kenny could somehow include Teahen in there, yeah..... Danks + Flowers for Montero + Gardner? YOUR idea from 2 weeks ago? I said they should be looking for Montero from NY for Danks as soon as things look grim, and boom, they just lost 2/3 to KC.
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 06:26 PM) Dan Carcillo/Pile of garbage Didn't you mean John Scott?
  9. Let's say Stamkos has 420 or so points after these 5 seasons. What will he get in that FA period? $12 million per? Jesus. What a deal this is for Tampa.
  10. What a horrible team effort. Vizquel is just a horrendous baseball player. He made a lot of s*** plays today. They just lost 2/3 vs a team that is about 20 games under. Wow. Get Montero for Danks.
  11. It's supposed to reach heat indexes of 110 this week in KC. Stay cool, boys.
  12. The Lions. LOL. Every year, along with Houston, they're everyone's "surprise" team. They drafted Nick Fairley, and everyone declared them a 9 or 10 win team. While they might kill some QB's, they've yet to address their OL. Therefore, killing QB's isn't all that great when your's is killed, too.
  13. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 01:38 PM) Who would Hester replace in that category? Maybe Rose but not any of the other 3. He broke that record using 700 or so less returns than the former holder. Find a spot for him. End of story.
  14. I was at the Cubs game today (free tickets right behind Florida's dugout), and man, Mike Stanton is an impressive young player.
  15. Hester wasn't up for Best Record Breaking Performance. lolz
  16. If he makes it to .270-.275 and keeps up his D, this team has a shot at winning the Central. Getting up to that average is a pretty drastic climb in 2.5 months. I hope he can do it, but I think he ends closer to .260 than .275.
  17. Jon Heyman's twitter says the Sox and Braves are talking about Jackson and Lowe.
