  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) Seriously, Morel, offensively, is real, real bad. The position overall sucks this year and his OPS is still like .100 points below league average. I was talking about Beckham with the GG. Morel is borderline, but even if he's not in the top 70, being in the top 80 worst players isn't exactly good.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 08:20 PM) But he's played well for 10 games. Duh! 10? He's been good since May 1!
  3. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) Beckham belongs on that list. Because he's a favorite for the GG, he doesn't make the top 70 list. Morel is borderline.
  4. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) I was one of Juan's biggest critics in April. There's really nothing offensively wrong with what he's done since May 1st. He's 13-24 on the year for SB's, his OBP his hilariously bad for a lead off hitter, he has no power, and his bunting sucks. Why stop at offense? His defense is horrendous, too.
  5. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 08:10 PM) I concur. If Juan was any good, he'd be 3 for 2. So because he's 2-2 today, that means he's now good at baseball? Please.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 08:09 PM) Twins scouting report on how to pitch to our hitters is just phenomenal. Yeah, I'm sure Pavano was up all night game planning this start with those scouts. It must be hard to get all of these all-stars out that Ozzie threw out there today.
  7. The Sox have 5 of the 70 worst players in baseball in the lineup today: Teahen, Pierre, Rios, Dunn, and Vizquel. Stay hot, KW.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 08:03 PM) Just think, if we were playing Boston we'd prolly sweep this series. Baseball's a funny frickin game. 2 on 1 out. And if Minnesota was playing the Yankees, this game would be 3-0 NY.
  9. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) I would have to say he's the best SS I've ever seen. He USED to be a great SS. Right now, at this stage of his career, it'd be in the best interest of the Sox if he retired.
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) Yeah, that Camp Cora has paid huge dividends hasn't it? I think Omar should start a Camp Vizquel. Why not just make a Camp Pierre? Vizquel sucks.
  11. This team really does suck. AJ can hit but can't throw. Dunn can't do either. Ramirez is scared of catching a Pierzynski throw and he can't hit anymore. Pierre is bad. Rios is useless and Humber looks disinterested tonight. The beat goes on. And Teahen's walk up music hurts my ears.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 09:52 AM) Brouwer gets $2.35 mil a year for 2 yrs from the Caps. Sounds about the same as what the Hawks would have had to give him. I think it's a good contract for a player like him, but Hawks needs the money for depth. $2.35 million is way too much for Troy Brouwer. His hits weren't exactly game changing, and he went invisible for many different stretches of 6-10 games.
  13. New Blackhawks' numbers: Carcillo 13 Olesz 85 Brunette 15 Mayers 22 O'Donnell 6 Montador 5
  14. Get 'em, Jake. No more "nice guy attitude" right?
  15. Nobody. They're going to get a perfect game thrown against them.
  16. Like I posted in the gamethread, I was in attendance today. It was a very strange win. Great job by AJ to start off the 9th and a great bunt by Beckham to move him over. Ned Yost is a moron. If he would've just walked Teahen, there wouldn't have ever been the WP to advance AJ to 3rd. I'll take it. Sergio will be fine. Way to battle today, Dunn. I hope this gets him going. That standing O was unreal; it was like he got to 3000 hits or something. As for Rios, he's going to be the target of boos from here on out now. He is horrible. It's like he gets hits here and there now, but his new swing has no power/thump in it at all. It's either a single off the end of the bat or a weak pop out.
