White Sox vs Rockies First Pitch 2:10 CT

I don't know about you guys, but I could tell from the start that Peavy just did not have it. His pitches weren't moving much and his velocity was way down. -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 10:38 AM) Morin played a little for the Hawks last year. As long as he is healthy he will have a good chance to make the team. Beach would be a real nice 4th liner and maybe better, but he needs to get his head out of his ass first. I remember being on the 'Hawks official message board on the draft night when they took Beach, and the other members were laughing at me because I wanted Tyler Meyers over Kyle Beacher.

It's strange to talk about Eklund. In the past, I've never liked him. In fact, there was a time when I completely stopped following on him on twitter, because every other tweet said this: "big rumor [insert weird verb here, such as brewing] between [random horrible team] and [championship contender team," and that obviously got pretty old. However, he was first on the Byfuglien/Ladd/Sopel/Eager trade to ATL last year, and was first this year on the Wisniewski to CBJ trade. All in all, I don't listen to his rumors. Instead, when he says E5, then I listen, because then it has happened for sure. For the record, I might rather have Parise. Of course course Stamkos is the better player and he's younger. But, Stamkos, rumors have it, is looking for about $8.5m per year, while Parise would probably only get $6.5-7.5 per.

White Sox vs Rockies First Pitch 2:10 CT

Aaron Cook is brutal, and unlike past pitchers who suck and the Sox get them on track, he's a RHP. Sox 6-4. -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 10:24 PM) Montador seems like a good, defensive defenseman. Good to have a veteran like that. Still makes me curious though as the Hawks really need to add a puck-moving defender like Campbell was unless they really think Leddy can pick up the slack. This may have something to do with the Campoli negotiations. Perhaps he wants too much?

QUOTE (OilCan @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 10:25 PM) Someone with NHL knowledge should know this answer. Is George Laraque an UFA, and if so, is he a viable option for the Blackhawks? How's his skating?? Thanks. I'll answer the 2nd question first: he's a bad skater and a bad hockey player, therefore, I don't even have the willingness to look up his contract status because if he is available, I want him nowhere near Chicago.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 10:29 PM) Due to female complications, I once again missed another game. Can't dissect at all. But I'll take the win. But at some point, we need to go on a 12 wins in 14 games streak. Hovering around .500 is making me ill. There is really nothing to dissect. It was 2 medicore teams playing each other. The Sox' pitching was good (as usual) and the offense was brutal (as usual).

QUOTE (aprec32 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 10:16 PM) Mark!!!!!! Gonna be sad when he is gone. Buehrle wants to keep pitching, and he will do so in a Sox uniform. He has too much fun to call it the quits. Hunting can't be that much better, can it?

I'm starting to think the 'Hawks will just bring up Lalonde as their extra D-man. I've heard they like Kaberle, but I wouldn't want to pay him $3.5m+ for 3-4 years. I've also heard they like Mike Rupp, Matt Bradley, and the previously-mentioned-in-this-thread Jan Hejda. I wouldn't mind Mike Rupp. 9 goals, 6'5 230 4th line C, and had 130+ PIM last year. They need size, badly.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 02:08 PM) Wiz's rights traded to COL. Some rumors about the Blackhawks being very interested in Jan Hejda. Also potentially TJ Oshie. COL? I know you mean Columbus, but Columbus' 3 letter abbreviation is CBJ, while Colorado's is COL.

QUOTE (DaveBrown85 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 04:27 PM) is AJ not on B&B today? He's usually on at 4:05 AJ is never on B&B. He goes on ESPN 1000 every Wednesday.

White Sox vs Rockies 7:40 CT first pitch

I'm sick of the way this team has been playing. Go out and hit the piss out of the ball, for once. Please. -
Kopecky's rights were dealt to Florida for a 7th round pick. This is pretty much a no story, because it doesn't help or hurt the cap, and he was going to walk as a UFA. At least they got something for nothing. Winnipeg and Florida = 2010 Blackhawks

I'm glad you brought up the gray Expos, knight. When the Expos were still in existence, my brother had bought the $200 white Vlad jersey. When he grew out of it, he sold it on eBay for f***ing $47. Now, it turns out it was an 48 (inbetween L and XL), and that would fit me now. At least he left me the on-field Montreal hat.

Continue to make your case for a mid-July trip back to Arizona, Phil. Go get 'em. Series wins are always nice when you're 3.5 out. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 08:35 AM) Well, someone else asked a parking question so I'll do mine also. Soldier Field. Best way to get in? Buying a parking pass in advance is $51. I'd actually do that but I wish the gates opened more than 4 hours before event time so that I could head out into the city. Staying at a Hotel near Michigan City, so other option is the South Shore, but would probably have to wait about 2 hours for the late night train if I did that. Any other options I'm missing? Also...best lot to go for (in order to get out of the city post-event heading South towards the Ryan) Parking BY (not in) McCormick Place is free. I park on side streets for Bears games for free and haven't had a problem in 6 years.

KC is scary. I'd try to trade Soria and get another good young player, if I were them. Moustakas, Crow, Hosmer, Montgomery, Escobar, Meyers, etc is just a ridiculous young core.

Like I said, I was at the game, and I'm like 99% sure it was a bronx cheer. If it wasn't, MY cheering was a bronx cheer. Even with the walk, his play today was bad. 0-3 with 3 strikeouts, he made a bad throw when Danks had the guy picked off, and he almost air-mailed another into LF after a pick-off got away from him. While Dunn sucks, Ozzie must realize it. STOP THROWING HIM OUT THERE AGAINST LHP'S. I would've rather seen Teahen play 1B today over Dunn.
