  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 09:04 PM) *sigh* Is getting a title in AAA more important to this organization? Even when we win our offense looks terrible. I can't recall a more blatantly obvious opportunity to bring up a guy from the minors. He had another RBI later on in the game, BTW.
  2. If they DFA Pierre, I think they'd likely bring up Viciedo and he'd play everyday in LF. Lillibridge would play RF when Quentin plays DH, and he could also play CF when Rios gets a day off.
  3. I saw this one projected lineup on a 'Hawks board by what everyone knows him as the cap geek on that site, and it looked like this: Bickell Toews Kane Sharp Richards Hossa Frolik Bolland Ward Smith Madden Kruger That would be ridiculously scary, but probably a pipe-dream. The bottom line is, like I said earlier, if they can sign Richards for 3-4 years (just in time for when Toews and Kane need new extensions), it would be a great pick-up.
  4. Viciedo broke a 1-1 tie today with a 3 run jack...
  5. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 07:53 PM) Didn't he get a standing O after coming out for a pinch runner? More bad news for the Twins: Young getting carted off the field. I cheered because I figured it was a bronx cheer for finally getting on base.
  6. And now Delmon Young is carted off the field after smashing his leg against the wall.
  7. I was in attendance, and even though I'm hard on the guy, what a job by Peavy. Wow. BTW, it's not that fans boo Dunn anymore, it's that after the boo'ing, the fans talk to each other and just blast him. He needs more off days, especially vs LHP's.
  8. It's too bad Campbell was being paid so much, because he was a good player. He was probably $4.5m/yr good, though, not 7.14. As for the Brouwer trade, it's amazing that Bowman was able to get a 1st round pick for a guy who really wasn't any good last season. Good luck and thanks for the memories, guys. Anyhow, I wonder how serious Brad Richards is about winning a cup. Would he sign here for 3-4 years, in time for his deal to be up for Kane and Toews' next extensions? If not, Bieksa or Ehrhoff will be nice for Campbell's replacement. I wouldn't mind Konopka or Asham as 4th line physicality guys, either. Joel Ward or Erik Cole would be nice players to snag, too.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 02:15 PM) What did I do this time? I'll miss your honest posts, but if people here are going to constantly beg you to leave, then leave. Another board will benefit from your knowledge.
  10. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 12:38 PM) The best idea I saw for a name was the Winnipeg Phoenix. This team will always be the ThrasherJets to me. Winnipeg Phoenix wouldn't have been bad, but maybe when the Coyotes move to Quebec City soon, they can be called the Quebec City Phoenix?
  11. And although they're only 4.5 out, they'll need a consistently Dunn and Rios from here on out to make up those 4.5 games.
  12. Get 'em, Edwin. And what I mean by "get 'em" is not giving up 2 runs in 5.1 innings after 119 pitches, please.
  13. Instead of me reading 10 pages, can someone give more examples of what hyperbole is? So, instead of me saying "JUAN PIERRE SUCKS ASS," instead just say "Pierre is horrible. Ozzie needs to sit his ass down"?
  14. According to just about every hockey analyst (LeBrun, McKenzie, etc), the 'Hawks will start talks with Sharp's agent, once again, near summer's end. Anybody here think they can keep Campoli, Frolik, Brouwer, Stalberg, Sharp, AND sign a guy like Erik Cole?
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 12:44 AM) Greinke? I don't remember anything with him. Am I forgetting something? Greinke and AJ grew up near each other, and ever since then, they've had problems. Remember when Greinke hit AJ 2 or 3 times in 1 game, and then AJ hit a HR and said something to him?
  16. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) It actually isn't very amazing if you read some of the posts here a lot of the posters here will blindly follow certain players regardless of how indefensible their actions are it's funny, AJ is widely known and accepted around major league baseball as being a jackass, a jerk, and overall toolbag. he shows up a teammate and there are people here defending him because they hate jake peavy. lol, what a joke. And with all of that being said, find me proof. Because Brett Tomko and Zach Greinke don't like him? Brett Tomko is a douchebag and Zach Greinke doesn't like most people (social disorder). Pierzynski, in all of my time around the park years ago, was the nicest White Sox player. On roadtrips when I sometimes go (6 since 2006 [KC twice, Pittsburgh 3 times, Cincy once]), he's usually the only one who signs an autograph for anyone. Not only that, but he interacted with the fans and had some laughs. Of course, I hear Beckham is the nicest guy anyone will ever meet, so AJ is probably #2 now. Just because he runs his mouth on the field, and on occasion to his own teammates, doesn't make him a gigantic prick who everyone hates around baseball. I happened to be in KC for Griffey's 1st games as a White Sock, and someone asked Ehren Wassermann for an autograph. His response: "yeah right." THAT is a toolbag, folks. I've never even seen Quentin sign for a damn soul, or Pierre.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 08:15 AM) Vitters is still young for his level but the .757 career minor league OPS is at least a concern. How about Jackson?
  18. It's too bad for M's fans. They have a damn good rotation with Vargas, Felix, and Pineda, and they have up and coming guys like Gutierrez (although he is 31), Ackley, and Hultzen. Any chance they throw money at Pujols? If they do, any chance he goes? (I know the answer to both, although more players should give Seattle a chance. It's a beautiful city.)
  19. Love that Winston Salem Dash hat. It's sharp. Which Knights hat is the on-field one: the one that says Knights on it or the other?
  20. QUOTE (The Baconator @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 02:18 PM) Honestly when I think about buying an authentic for $100+, I figure I might as well just go all the way authentic eBay Game Worn Sox jerseys What? You can buy the authentic replica for $100-$120 or the official on-field authentic for $225, hence the "+."
  21. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 03:56 PM) Sorry but those Jays jerseys are atrocious. I mentioned in the game thread when they played them but they need to go back to the early 90's World Series winning jersey's. I dig the Rockies Home Whites, Oakland's Whites and Yellow Alts, Seattle White's and the Teal Alternates they brought back this year White home jerseys by Toronto are atrocious but teal M's jerseys are nice?
  22. I can't believe Philly unloaded like that. They got younger up front and better in goal, but jesus, that leaves them with no depth. LA is going to be scary next year with Penner, Kopitar, and Richards.
  23. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 12:04 AM) Georgia is a small school? Maybe to you Georgia screams basketball, but it doesn't to me.
  24. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) By the way...Blue Raspberry Air-Head Extremes are the shiz. Fixed.
