  1. QUOTE (Chisoxrd5 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 03:05 PM) He'll tell you how the White Sox did exactly what they were hoping to do this weekend. Win the series. Which is true. If you win 2/3 every series, you win what, 108 games? The problem is, the White Sox barely ever win a series. Therefore, when they play the Cubs of the league, they need to win all 3 games.
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) You know he will not blame any Sox brass. That's because he is probably paid by the Sox as well as 670. Zach Zaidman who covers the Bears is paid by 780 and the Bears.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 03:02 PM) Just tell Kenny he's batting eighth or ninth if he has to play at all. That's not even an option. The only spot in the lineup where Dunn can HELP the Sox is 10th. End of story.
  4. I have no clue how anyone can continue to back up Ozzie throwing Dunn out there practically every game. Sit his a** down. If KW doesn't like it, then get fired over it, Oz. He is HURTING this team. Remember this game in September when the division is tied or the Sox are trailing by a game. Remember this for Rodrigo f***ing Lopez handing the Sox offense their a**es.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 02:56 PM) Rodrigo Lopez ... unbelievable. Get ready for KC's lousy pitching staff folks. Lousy? Jeff Francis is a soft tossing LHP. He's a god!
  6. Rodrigo Lopez it is. I'm scared.
  7. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 07:04 PM) Pitchers don't bat in the all star game any more, DH only. Where the hell was I when this was announced? Oops.
  8. Send him to single-A. For forever. He will be the best player in the history of the Winston Salem Dash.
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 03:54 AM) I would probably punch myself sterile. Nobody I produce needs to know the name Juan Pierre. ^^^ And for the record, isn't Wise with Florida now?
  10. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 06:43 PM) 10 starters usually go to the All-Star game according to a Trib article I read: Automatics Weaver (Top three pitcher in the AL this year) Beckett (Ditto) Verlander (Ditto) Sabathia (more on reputation than pure numbers this year, but still pitching well) Haren (great year + name) Shields (Six CGs, enough said) So there are six guys that are for sure going to go. That leaves four guys to be selected. Last Options Humber Gonzalez Pineda Ogando Tomlin Price Lester Felix Hernandez I am not going to put their statistics on there, but Humber is as good as any. Felix probably gets in on name, ditto for Lester and Price. So, IMO, Humber has to beat out Gio and Pineda. Ogando has dropped off a bit and Tomlin has a 3.86 ERA. So we can hope... If Gio doesn't go, who does from Oakland? QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 06:40 PM) Paulie should be in over Tex. With the DH, room for more. There is no DH this year.
  11. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 05:36 PM) Peculiar, huh? Well, KW has to get his money's worth with Dunn, so Ozzie will let him get 1 more AB. I really hope Lillibridge is out in RF in the 9th though.
  12. Earlier, Karros compared Castro to Vlad Guerrero, so I must say, good game today, Vlad.
  13. I decided to get my neck tattooed up and then go to the Cubs game in my3-sizes-too-small W tshirt. Losers...
  14. How about Sale in the 9th? FWIW, for those who don't get the gameon FOX, be thankful. Eric Karros is brutal. He kept saying Humber was unimpressive all game, and then he was slurping him in the 7th. Ugh.
  15. While I wish it was AJ or PK saying this, I love this. Peavy has been busting his a** lately and I think he's leading by example. That game he had vs the Nats was incredible. Man's game, Jake.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) chw42 was right. f*** team records. Jose Bautista is the MVP to this point. I really hope one day a 'Most outstanding player' award is created. Well, if Felix could win the Cy last year, Bautista could win MVP this year. Still, Gonzalez > Bautista.
  17. I know I'm late on this, but why was Garza yelling at Beckham when he walked earlier inthe game? Because he called timeout on a 2-2 count? Grow up, Matt.
  18. This is sad. Garza has good stuff, but come on, it's 100 degrees at Wrigley. Hit the f***ing ball.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 09:44 AM) And we get to watch Garza spit every 4 seconds for 2 + hours unless we knock him out early...score some runs! He must have caught that habit from Soriano.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 09:04 AM) f*** the Cubs
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 09:05 AM) That has been us for most of this year. 3.5 to 6 out in June is definitely out of contention. I'm talking 20-30 games out, the Reds were when Dunn was there (except 1 year) and the Nats when they were like a million games out at the break.
  22. There's also a video out there of Mayers vs Montador. According to Sassone's twitter, Habs and Hawks are talking trade. The only name he has heard is Travis Moen. Uh, Travis Moen sucks. I'd much rather find a way to get Plekanec but that's probably impossible.
  23. If this Carcillo signing means anything, it means nobody will ever f*** with the 'Hawks again. It's for 1 year, it's for very little money, and he's going to make sure (along with Mayers, Scott, and O'Donnell) that Raffi Torres, or anyone, never f***s with Seabrook, or any Hawk, again. What would it take to get Stephen Weiss from Florida as their 2nd or 3rd C?
