  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) Viciedo could be a 4th. KW will have to dump an OF'er before that happens, and maybe you don't agree, but I don't see this happening soon.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) People will stop giving him major league chances if he can't hit a fastball. Demise may not be far away. ^^^
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) There is a second half to this season and things can turn around quickly The Sox have 3 good hitters right now, and they'll need 5 total for the next 3 months to do some damage. For everyone's best interest, those 2 extra guys better be Rios and Dunn.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) Ohman will never look good against righties. Hence the "just OK."
  5. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:39 PM) If we can't beat Doug Davis then this team is in serious trouble. He is a soft tossing LHP who just beat the Yankees, FWIW.
  6. If it means anything, Harrell had decent velocity and Bruney looked good. Someone touched on it, but Ohman looked just OK even though he got 6 straight guys out.
  7. I hope they finish off the Cubs. A sweep with tons of Cubs errors and runners left in scoring position should do the trick. Let's do this. Zambrano just isn't good anymore. It's time to end it.
  8. Historically, Dunn has lit up the Cubs. Maybe a series with them is all he needs to get going. *prays*
  9. As much as Hawk is correct, I believe he also said last night that the Sox are the only team capable of taking a strangle-hold of the division if they ever get to the top, which is completely idiotic.
  10. I don't think anyone would be surprised if it didn't happen. However, (yet again) if they can land a few young arms or bats, or a proven young player, it'll be fine by me.
  11. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 05:10 PM) I agree completely with J4L. We had a great chance to take over the city but I think we still do. The cubs are going backwards in every facet imaginable. There's still plenty of time. I can't figure out this offense one bit, like there's some disease lingering where the bats are kept. Why can a Twins team full of minor leaguers knock our pitching around while we can't touch Pavano or Blackburn? Those kids must have been sitting fastball the entire game and it worked. Why can't we command pitch counts? I hate every AB I watch almost. And AJ is one of the worst baseball players on the planet and he bats in the wrong spot; he almost always kills any work the heart of the order has done. It's all about our hitting the last few years. That's it IMO. We flat out can't hit. We can always pitch and we can hit every once in a while, but we can't hit overall. Walker's head on a pike by sundown or im outa here. I think J4L meant the Sox had a chance to take over the city, not just the baseball parts of the city. They had a chance to become the talk of the town and the main draw. Instead, the Blackhawks have done so. Had KW not made dumb trades (and with some luck), that 2005 team looked like it could win 2 more after '05.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 01:14 PM) I think the list of prospects who came up for Texas, KC, Anaheim, and busted is as long as can be. If not, I'll trade you Brandon Wood, Chris Davis, and Angel Berroa for Beckham right now. Trade me Hosmer, Smoak, and Moustakas for Beckham then. (I admitt I jumped the gun with Anaheim)
  13. I hope Danks brings it today because he's going to get s*** for run support, most likely.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 01:11 PM) Depends on how you define possiblity. The Marlins asked about Ozzie, the Sox said Morrison was the price, the Marlins politely declined. And of course, I meant POSSIBILITY, not POSSIBLY. Yeah, it could be looked at in both ways. If KW knows he's going to get canned or if Ozzie's got to go, get something for him. I saw it in another thread-- if it means getting 2 or 3 young arms from Florida, do it.
  15. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 11:35 AM) I still hold out hope for Beckham but I wish they could send him to AAA for the year and let him work some s*** out. ^^^
  16. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 01:06 PM) Mike Stanton. Remember that rumor? LOL That's what the Stanton thing was- a rumor. However, I'm pretty sure Logan Morrison was a possibly.
  17. If Florida is still willing to give up something good for Oz, whether it's soon, in a few months, or in the offseason, I hope KW is smart enough to say goodbye.
  18. What did J4L do that was so bad? I'll admitt it- I used to come on this board and post left and right, whether it was threads or posts inside of others' threads. F***, I was the "THIS.TEAM.IS.DEAD" guy. I believe this is called a forum, or a message board. I don't think anything J4L did was wrong nor should any mod or admin try to make it out to be. Everything he said was the truth. Jackson throws a s*** ton of pitches, Hudson will be a good starter one day (he is probably "good" already, actually), KW sucks, etc. I think we are all in agreement that eventually, KW and probably Ozzie need to go. Ozzie's b****ing to the media to take the pressure off of his players has gotten old. KW's "need" to trade every young player away has gotten old. Imagine if Ben Revere was in the Sox organization and got called up. He'd probably be a .180 hitter. Instead, he's in a system where he developed and now he's making plays both at the plate and in the field. Then again, he probably would've never been called up because KW would've traded him a long time ago for a RP who has the talent of f***ing Tony Pena. And for the record, Gordon Beckham sucks. I remember when teams stopped throwing him fastballs because that's all he could hit. Now, he's getting 92-94 mph heaters right down the plate, and instead of taking a level swing and taking it down the RF line for a double, he's taking cuts in an attempt to hit the Dan Ryan with the f***ing ball. Makes me sick. Only an organization like the Sox could f*** him up. It's hindsight of course, but does anyone think he'd suck this much if he was with Philadelphia, Texas, Anaheim, Minnesota, even KC?
  19. Thanks for the help, guys.
