  1. Someone mentioned Melky Cabrera in another thread. I don't think we need a bigtime CF brought in, and in that case, Melky fits the bill.
  2. Fields? Owens? Getz? Are we trying to lose?
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 03:37 AM) bearsbrian was taken huh? What?
  4. McClouth? We'd have to trade everything for him.
  5. Ricky Jean Francois, DT, from LSU- "If we get a shot at Tebow, we want to put him out of the game".
  6. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) Grudz would be a great stopgap, especially since Getz is ready should something go wrong. I'd rather have Grudz for one year on the cheap with a team option for a second, and not pay out draft picks, then bring in Hudson on a 5-year $65 million deal or whatever it will take to land him. Hudson is a great player, but that money would be better off spent in other areas. Then again he appears to be one of Kenny's guys, so I expect a serious run. I LOVES me some Alex Rios. If KW could find a way to trick JP Retardi into giving him up for another all-or-nothing pitcher like Javy Vaquez and a couple overrated prospects I would jump for joy. I doubt he's dealt though. He'd be our CF for a long time. Rickie Weeks, no thank you. I've seen too much of him to know that I don't ever want him on my team. Didn't Rios just get $100 million from Toronto??
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) Hardy at SS, and Alexei at 2B. I actually think Weeks could be the type of guy KW goes after. I've watched a lot of Brewers games, and Weeks sucks. If we go after Weeks, I'll have KW's head.
  8. In a perfect world, we'd get Tex, but Boras is a piece of crap and Reinsdorf would never pony up $180-$200 million over 7-9 years. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 08:21 PM) J.J. Hardy and Seth McClung I'd even do it for Hardy.
  9. QUOTE (Cali @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 08:17 PM) Roberts Ramirez Quentin A boy can dream can't he? How about: Roberts Swisher Quentin Dye Thome Konerko Beltre Pierzynski Ramirez
  10. So I do have Hawks STs, but I just realize I work Monday until 9, which is opening night at the UC. I am fuming.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 07:34 PM) I can now turn my full attention to the Bears. You will be seeing A LOT more of me posting in this thread and over at Talkbears. Watch out for Bears88 over there. He's a piece of garbage.
  12. Refer to my sig. Thank you, White Sox.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 06:11 PM) Title needs to be changed to "Good riddance OC, Griffey, and Javy." That's what it needs to be changed to.
  14. Game. Season. Oh well. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 05:08 PM) Since when did this organization care about defense? haha That's true.
  15. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 08:04 AM) I wasn't posting on talkbears or anything at the time, but I don't recall anybody not liking the Harrison pick. Personally I liked seeing Angelo go for it and just take the best player for once, he's been too conservative in the draft at times and he has a terrible poker face. The Forte pick was telegraphed all the way, but it doesn't matter, because at this point it looks like whatever they saw in him is correct. Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong Jerry Angelo, as the one I watch and follow goes for the best player there. They took Manning and Hester in 2006 when their #1 need wasn't CB and S. In 2007, our #1 need wasn't TE, either. I loved the Harrison pick. Many complained he was a trouble maker at Arkansas and that we already were stacked at DT, but if the guy would have done everything right in college, he would have been an early 2nd rounder.
  16. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 05:05 PM) I wouldn't mind Beltre but I'd rather have Figgins to put at the top of the lineup. Figgins and Roberts batting 1 and 2 would be awesome. How is Figgins' FP and range at 3rd?
  17. QUOTE (Wanne @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 06:00 PM) My pipe dream of a starting IF next year is Roberts at 2B, Figgins at 3rd, Lexi at SS and Konerko/Swisher at 1st. Mine is Roberts 2B and Beltre at 3B. Agree on Alexei and Swisher/Konerko.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 04:55 PM) Ok hold the f*** up, did Reyolds really suggest Thome drop a bunt? Please tell me the alcohol is making me here things. Why not? He isn't going to hit a LHP anyways.
  19. QUOTE (Bhay99 @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 04:29 PM) it's alright....it's still not over....couple hits and a longball and this game is interesting again That's the thing- WE DON'T GET HITS! Like the Sox playoff TBS commercial has Dye and AJ say- "we don't hit the ball, we hammer the ball".

  21. Sweet, I love it when our pitchers give runs back after we get 1. We must lead the league in that category.
  22. QUOTE (Wanne @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) Are you s***tin' me Griffey?!?...jesus. "I want to win a championship before I'm done and in Chicago is my best chance." Then do something, a**hole.
  23. But...but...but...it's Ken Griffey and he's a veteran bat and he was awesome 10 years ago and his speed won't affect us!!!!11
