Yes he did. He said the person thinks he's signing with the Sox. The exact quote is "Oh and by the way I talked to somebody today who is very close to Machado and they think he is signing with the White Sox."

Think he means Machado's childhood team.The Sox knew they had a better shot at Machado. Brian said they don’t like they’re chances with Harper. Then they traded for his damn brother in law which in hindsight if and when Manny signs elsewhere is going to look really bad. I don’t think they have a chance at all with Harper.Machado was a much easier target for the Sox. It's extremely unlikely he's coming here.There's too much Machado Yankee stuff. They’re more like the Mariners.I think the worry here is specifically teams like the Cubs who may at some point have so much money that they’re just not going to care about the tax.I think the League and PA is going to have to agree to something harsher if they want to bring parity to the league. Interest in baseball is dropping quickly and if the big market teams are the only ones signing FAs then baseball is going to become more niche than it already is. The elite talent cant keep going to the same 4 or so destinations, it will damn the game. On the flip side I saw there's 200 or so FA still out there and not many teams interested.
