  1. f***ing Wondo? Really Klinsmann?
  2. QUOTE (Scoots @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 11:30 AM) David Ortiz, the Red Sox number 3 hitter and possibly the best hitter in the league, bunted yesterday with TWO out and no one on (granted there was the shift), and nearly beat it out, and it was the first inning. The best offense in the league had their best hitter bunt. The White Sox are not the only team to have their 3 hitter bunt to try to spark something. That's different since he's bunting for a hit and not bunting to give up the out. It's a legit strategy for someone who gets shifted on like Ortiz. But then again, if you're hitting like he is, there really is no reason for you to bunt on the shift.
  3. Big game tonight. I just hope we don't get embarrassed like Mexico did.
  4. I think you meant Yan Gomes. Johnny Gomes is more or less retired.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 05:05 PM) They had a good shot at a fairly open goal the very last 30 seconds as well. Spain just doesn't have enough offensive playmakers/finishers anymore, compared with 6 years ago. Morata's a pretty damn good striker and Nolito is a good supporting winger. They might not have a prime Villa or Fernando Torres, but they're solid up front. Plus Silva, Busquets, and Iniesta are still some of the best midfielders in the world.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) Croatia looks like the best team in the tournament. Even in their tie they completely dominated that game and lost because of their protesting idiot fans. Surprised by them, but looking at their roster the amount of big clubs their players play may rival that of an England, Italy, etc. Surprising for an Eastern Europe team. Not sure how serious of an injury Modric has, but I don't think they'll get farther than the quarters without him. With Modric they have an elite midfield and their attack is decent with Perisic and Mandzukic. Very balanced team. Spain probably should have won or drew against them. They had a golden chance to go up with a penalty and missed it.
  7. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 11:00 AM) No it's not. When you have an offense that's struggling you do things to spark a rally and get runners in scoring position. Many things positive for an offense can potentially happen with a well placed bunt When you have an offense that's struggling, you shouldn't be giving up outs and playing for 1 run all the time. It's one thing to do it when you only need 1 run to win in extras or in the 9th, but the Sox have had their #3 hitter bunt before in the 7th inning. If you don't let your best hitter swing the bat, then what's the point?
  8. I want to say that this might turn the team around, but I truly doubt that.
  9. Well that was strike 3. Not called.
  10. This game is all kinds of weird.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 07:11 PM) I don't know why anyone can hate LeBron. He seems like a good guy. He is an amazing player, obviously the best in the business. Of course anyone saying he has now exceeded Jordan is laughable, but LeBron is a likable guy. There was the whole taking my talents to South Beach, but even he sort of apologized for that later. I just don't feel like LeBron's being all that sincere when he acts like the good guy. Maybe it's because of all the nagging he does to the officials and all the flops on the court.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 10:27 AM) I can't wait for the second season. Less than a month away. I have a feeling the second season will be off the rails. It won't just be a show about hacking and technology.
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 10:50 AM) Not going back to read the entire thread but good god, why did Kerr put Ezeli into the game in the final 6 minutes of the season? The guy offered nothing at all to start each half and the Warriors went from 4 up to 2 down in the blink of an eye because of him. You put your 5 best and most effective players in to close out the game. That decision felt like Carroll calling for a pass play on the 1 yard line to the 5th WR on the team. Edit: Ezeli finished the night with no points and one rebound in 10 minutes. I was screaming to take him out after he jumped on LeBron's first pump fake. But Kerr had the audacity to keep him in there for 2 more possessions. Seriously man? That alone was a huge momentum swing. The Warriors went from being up 4 after a huge Curry 3 to being down 2 after LeBron got 6 easy points by having a center on him. Harrison Barnes was awful again in game 7, but he at least allows you to defend LeBron effectively on the pick switch that Cleveland kept going to.
  14. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 10:01 AM) Did the warriors s*** the bed or did the cavs finally wake up? The Warriors s*** the bed. There's no reason for you to lose a 3-1 lead in the finals with home field advantage. Cleveland deserves a lot of credit for pulling through, but Steph Curry let his own team down in the last 3 games.
  15. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 11:35 PM) That episode of Silicon Valley ended on a real down note. Seems like it's only gonna get darker in the finale.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 09:45 PM) Also didn't help when they kept trying to feed Varejao in the 3rd quarter. I was confused as hell about that. Why play through your worst player? What's the point?
  17. Warriors also went away from Draymond in the second half when he flat out dominated in the first half.
  18. Kerr putting in Ezeli mid-way through the 4th was the dumbest thing he could have done. All the Cavs did was try and get the Warriors to switch on the screen to get Ezeli on LeBron. Why would you let them do that to you? You get up 4 points only to have LeBron get 6 quickly because of a bad matchup. Terrible coaching decision. Also, losing Bogut hurt the Warriors as well. Depth was their strength and without Bogut, they had to play Ezeli and Speights a lot more than you'd like.
  19. Warriors forgot how to make a shot down the stretch. Gotta hand it to the Cavs though.
  20. QUOTE (Tony @ Jun 17, 2016 -> 06:19 PM) It was weird, I couldn't wait for this 30 for 30, but had no interest in the FX series. I knew it was going to be "overdone" and I heard the Kardaishan stuff was a little overblown because of their celebrity now. So happy with the 30 for 30 right now. Excited for Part 4 tonight. FYI, you can watch all 5 parts on watchespn.com.
  21. Been watching the 30 for 30 doc. I honestly think OJ had CTE. The whole chase before his surrender, being suicidal, the constant mood swings. It looks like CTE. OJ might have been a wife beater (he beat his first wife too), but I'm not sure any sane person would murder people like he did.
  22. #sieteacero That's a thing now.
  23. Wow Mexico. 6-0? Embarrassing. Edit: now 7-0. Mexico is now the Brazil of North America.
