  1. lol wow Rodgers. They didn't even get set.
  2. Holy s*** Jeff Janis.
  3. Oof another possible PI call. If you're a Cardinals DB, you absolutely cannot start holding people on long passes like that.
  4. Terrible clock management.
  5. That was definitely a PI.
  6. Wow, that's a ton of luck for the Cardinals on that drive. 2 first downs by a chainlink, Shields missing a pick 6, and Floyd catching a TD on a deflection.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) 3.5 fWAR the year before that and his strikeout rate and walk rate both improved in 2015 (he threw fewer innings which FG weights pretty heavily and his HR rate skyrocketed). I wouldn't have done it, if I were spending that money I'd have spent it earlier this offseason when there were better options, but there's some logic here. 5 WAR over the last 3 years in a good pitcher's park. You can maybe argue he's an average starter. I don't think $14 million/year is necessarily the issue, it's the fact that they gave him $70 million guaranteed.
  8. lol 0.8 WAR last year and he gets $14 million a year for 5 years. This market...
  9. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 12:25 AM) Talk about putting the team on your back. He probably should have scored a few more. There were a couple of fouls that didn't get called when he went to the rim and still got the bucket.
  10. It's a shame that Rose is no longer the player he used to be. We'd have a real shot of winning it all if we had MVP Rose with this Jimmy Butler. Jimmy was the guy we needed back in 2011.
  11. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 10:03 PM) Abreu and Frazier get you 60, but the rest of the team gets you what... another 60? I mean, Eaton is literally our 3rd best home run hitter. I'd say Lawrie should be good for 15-20. You'll probably get 15 out of the catcher platoon. Melky should be good for 12-15. Eaton should be good for 12-15. Those 4 alone can get you 60. I'm not saying we don't need anymore power. I just feel like on base percentage is a bigger need than power for this team.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 09:39 PM) We do not have a decent amount of power. Abreu and Frazier alone can account for 60. We're not going to lead the league in homers or anything, but I think we have enough power to compete as is. We're probably better off getting a guy who is good at getting on base with decent power as opposed to someone who can hit 30 bombs, but might only get on at a .300 clip.
  13. I honestly think Fowler + SS + Starting pitcher is better than just getting Cespedes. It'd be nice to get a big bat, but we have a decent amount of power as is. To get a guy who can hit you 15-20 homers, get on at .350-.375 clip, and play CF somewhat adequately would be huge. Getting a SS and another starter to sure up the rotation also makes your team much more well rounded.
  14. Our defense is dreadful.
  15. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 11:11 AM) I kinda think if they decide to sign Raburn, he'd be part of a platoon in LF possibly taking them out of Cespedes. And then he'll hit .350 against us and screw us out of at least 2-3 games.
  16. That's 6 straight for the Bulls. Rose looked good.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 02:38 PM) 670 The Score ‏@670TheScore 56m56 minutes ago Derrick Rose is a gametime decision Tuesday after MRI on his right leg comes back clean: http://cbsloc.al/1MPBAOo I think Rose is just paranoid at this point. Any kind of discomfort in his leg and he's afraid it's something serious again.
  18. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:45 PM) 8 against 6.5 isn't much. 8 and 5 is. You're more likely to get 5% from him in the future unless he changes his approach. Edit: FWIW, over 600 PAs, 1.5% is 9 walks. 3% is 18 walks. That is a sizable difference.
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 07:18 PM) He also claims Melky will platoon with LaRoche at DH. I really doubt this organization will throw Avi out in right field to embarrass himself some more.
  20. One thing that really bothers me about Cespedes is his declining walk rate. He started out walking 8% of the time his rookie year. Then 6.5%. Then he got traded to the Red Sox and it's like he doesn't even know walking is a possibility anymore. If he doesn't hit .280 or higher, he's not going to get on at a league average rate.
  21. I'm going to assume Cespedes will cost more and demand more years, but we don't lose a draft pick if we sign him. Gordon may be better at getting on base and defense, but Cespedes has a lot more pop and is 2 years younger. If I had to choose, I'd say Cespedes.
  22. I went to the game tonight. After Snell missed the dunk on the break-away in the third, I don't think he missed a single shot. I think this was probably the best NBA game he's played so far.
  23. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 03:51 PM) It'd be awesome if the Sox could trade for Andrew Miller now but it'd never happen. Can we trade Robertson for Andrew Miller?
  24. So it looks like Kirk Cousins quietly had a really really good year. 4000+ yards passing, 70% completion percentage, 26/11 TD to INT ratio. I didn't see Cousins becoming a guy that can put up a 100 QB rating.
  25. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 09:18 PM) Lmao, butler is better than a finals MVP and reigning defensive MVP. Ok You know, had he said that at the end of last season, I don't think he'd be getting the crap he's getting now. Leonard has improved massively over last season offensively. Butler was actually a better player last year in terms of offensive efficiency. Say whatever you want about their defense, but Butler had a 3 win share lead over Leonard last year.
