Arrieta went from failed prospect to one of the best pitchers in baseball. I'm wondering how he's throwing 96 when he was averaging 92-93 in Baltimore to start his ML career.

So is there even an incentive for the Sox to actually try and re-sign Samardzija at this point? He's shown he's nothing more than a middle of the rotation starter this year and he's going to be 31 next year. I'm not sure I'd bother to offer him anything worth more than a QO on a annual basis for 3-4 years. Even with the current free agency market, that might be a fair deal for him given how poorly he's pitched this year.

Saw Straight Outta Compton and liked it a lot. I thought the casting was great and as someone who really didn't know much about NWA, it was fascinating.
