  1. Tony Kemp pinch running. He's as short as Altuve.
  2. Putnam in instead of Albers. Interesting.
  3. Hope Nate is ok. With our bullpen the way it is right now, we can't afford to lose him.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 17, 2016 -> 08:48 PM) All set up on first pitch strike that was a ball because Navarro can't catch I understand that we were facing a lefty today, but Avila has to start catching Rodon.
  5. I think they were trying to put Jose on, then he swung at the 3-1 pitch.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 17, 2016 -> 07:46 PM) Saladino is a great bench player. Just made a bad error, that's all. Defense is just in a funk. Yeah, nothing against Tyler. But I just expect him to make a routine play like that. We've been too used to Frazier being solid over there.
  7. Keuchel with good location so far. Not liking this.
  8. QUOTE (Scoots @ May 17, 2016 -> 07:36 PM) It was a good throw...unfortunate that it hit the runner. He would have been out otherwise. I was wondering why Navarro didn't even bother catching it. That makes sense now.
  9. What probably should have been a 10 pitch inning ends up being 20 pitches because of Saladino.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 17, 2016 -> 07:34 PM) Pitch selection lately has made very little sense They had to heat him up high and in. Instead that ball was right down the middle.
  11. Castro was hitting .050 against lefties before that. Saladino's error hurts us.
  12. I was hoping Avila would catch Rodon, but with Keuchel going, it's understandable.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 17, 2016 -> 05:52 PM) Reds pitching is such a joke How is Alfredo Simon even allowed to pitch in the Majors? He's got an ERA near 10.
  14. QUOTE (InTheDriversSeat @ May 17, 2016 -> 12:54 PM) If you are located in an area where the game is televised, then you are not blacked out. . We're talking about mlb.tv.
  15. QUOTE (Deadpool @ May 17, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) I'm blacked out. SON OF A b****. Blackouts are horrible. Same. I have ROOT Sports Houston on TV though.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) Follow Nick Shepkowski ‏@Shep670 ****IF**** Cubs/Angels worked out deal for Trout what is too much to give up for Cubs? Discussing on @SpiegelAndGoff From the parts I heard, they were talking about Schwarber, Baez, Torres, Contreras and Underwood possibly being enough with Jeff Passan. There's a chance those guys combined don't put together enough WAR in their whole careers to match one season from Trout. If I'm the Angels I'm looking for at least 2 cost-controlled established players and a handful of prospects for Trout. The only way a trade like that can work for the Cubs is if they trade Bryant/Russell along with Schwarber, Soler, and Baez.
  17. Even if that daily dish article wasn't serious, some of those proposals they had from other teams were so much better than the ones they had for the Cubs. Why the hell would the Angels want an injured DH, a guy hitting under .200, and a decent infielder that might K too much when they can get Cespedes and Matt Harvey from the Mets or 3 of Boston's best young players in Bogaerts, Bradley, and Betts? I also laugh at the idea that Adam Eaton, Carlos Rodon, and all of our best prospects is somehow the worst deal they can come up with.
  18. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ May 15, 2016 -> 06:50 PM) As Dan Plesac correctly pointed out, Gonzo was afraid to pitch in the strike zone because he knew that anything he threw in the strike zone would probably get torched. Gonzo walked his way off the roster, or at least I hope he did. RH and KW would be crazy to keep this guy on the roster and give him one more start. That was more painful to watch than looking at his sideburns. Then the bullpen - Zach Duke was awful and Matt Albers stunk it up again. Even Nate Jones gave up a bomb. Rome crumbling before our eyes again. The good news is that the Sox have time to find someone else for the 5th starter spot. Maybe go to a 4 man rotation for one turn. Who would you replace Gonzalez with? He's at least kept the team in the games he's pitched in. The rest of our 5th starters can't really say the same.
  19. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 15, 2016 -> 06:13 PM) Not a chance. He started his slide way to late. His butt landed on the bag or just past it. That's a slide they are trying to eliminate from the game. Exactly. He needs to slide earlier. Odor had a right to be pissed, but he didn't have to punch Bautista.
  20. Great AB by Jose, but it's very hard to square Chapman up.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2016 -> 03:33 PM) Sorry, the way things are going, we have no freaking chance of winning tomorrow
