  1. Cubs up 4-0 again. Looks like the theory that they can only beat crappy teams doesn't apply.
  2. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 4, 2016 -> 12:55 PM) Avi back today? Hope so. Sands is actually doing OK but his strikeouts last night were downright Aviesque. Avi has been hitting the ball alright so far hopefully he can pick up where he left off before the hammy tweak. I was happy with Sands in the Baltimore series. Maybe he just can't hit knuckleballers.

Nola was the most ML ready pitcher in that draft. But his stuff isn't nearly as electric as Rodon's. Nola's control has been absolutely insane this year though (only 6 walks in almost 40 innings).
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 4, 2016 -> 10:48 AM) Steroids. You say that as a joke, but let's not forget Q did get caught once a long time ago.
  5. One thing I noticed about Q last night was velocity. He was throwing 94 on high fastballs. I don't think I've ever seen that from him. His velocity's up half a mile an hour this year as well.
  6. Toronto really sucks in the playoffs. I'm fairly convinced that the Bulls could have beat them if they got the 7th seed.
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 3, 2016 -> 08:24 PM) I agree and while I hate deciding things on penalties it still makes a hell of a lot more sense than giving one goal more value than other goals. That rule is probably for when away games used to mean more. Now it's more or less the same thing. All the fields are nice and all the facilities are similar for teams in the Champions League. Only difference is fans screaming at you.
  8. Love this team right now!

QUOTE (harkness @ May 3, 2016 -> 04:32 PM) Is Buerhle realistically an option? I have mixed emotions about that. I really don't think so. He hasn't thrown the ball all winter/spring. His velocity's probably around Jered Weaver level right now. Even if he wanted to come back, I'd say June might be the earliest.
  10. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 3, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) The hate for the Twins has faded a bit since 2010, but in 2008 there wasn't a team in sports I hated more than them. That made beating them in the Blackout game that much sweeter, and Danks was a huge part of that. Despite the poor results over the past few years, I never stopped liking the guy. Totally agreed. I hated the Twins more than the Packers, Cubs, Tigers, Indians, and Royals combined. The worst part of it was that those Twins teams would beat our built-to-win-in-the-playoffs teams in the regular season and then just suck horribly in the playoffs. They were basically a waste of space in the postseason. Meanwhile we were sitting at home with 3 top of the line starting pitchers (especially in 2003 and 2010) and good offenses.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 3, 2016 -> 03:51 PM) Anyone else really hate the away goal rule? I think it is remarkably stupid and wish it was done away with. I wish they'd just keep playing until someone gets more goals than the other team... Or if you don't want it decided on pens, just play the 30 minutes of ET. If it's still tied, then away goals decides it.
  12. QUOTE (daggins @ May 3, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) fWAR for Danks: 2008 - 4.8 2009 - 2.7 2010 - 4.4 2011 - 3.0 Then he got hurt. He was maybe the best starter on a couple very good (and a couple disappointing) White Sox teams. His contract and injury came to be unfairly associated with the stink of failure that hovered over this team the last 3 years. Danks was a top 5 left handed starter in the AL for a few years. That's why he got the contract he got.
  13. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 3, 2016 -> 03:13 PM) I wouldn't be on board with with this guy. I don't like him at all because of his lying, cheating dbag ass. You can say the same about Melky...

I really didn't see us eating all of that money. I'm shocked.
  15. We already have a handful of d-bags, why not take in another? lol
  16. 1. Eaton 2. Sale 3. Quintana 4. Lawrie 5. Albers
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 2, 2016 -> 04:10 PM) That was one hell of a goal! He looked like 2014 Hazard. Impeccable dribbling and ball control. That shot was also a beauty. Lloris had no shot to stop it.
  18. Leicester City win it! Easily the best PL season since City winning it on the last day in 2012, maybe the most interesting PL season ever. Spurs really lost it at the end of the game.
  19. HAZARD! It took 35 weeks for him to finally show up. Never thought I'd be rooting for Chelsea against Spurs.
  20. I thought April was going to be difficult too, but look how that turned out. I'd be fine with 13-14 since we're already 10 over though.
  21. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 2, 2016 -> 10:45 AM) ESPN cut out Schilling from the documentary about the 2004 ALCS. How stupid and petty. I can't stand Schilling as a person, but you have to respect him as a player. Leaving him out of a documentary where he was one of the most pivotal parts is so dumb.
  22. That's my new avatar
  23. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 01:50 AM) Dee Gordon suspended 80 games for PEDs. Wow for real? Of all people? lol
  24. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 10:30 AM) Why is Derrick Henry still available?! I feel like he needs a good line to be an effective NFL RB. He takes a bit to get going since he's so damn big.
  25. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 03:06 PM) Over their last 162 games the Astros are 78-84. And they started the 2015 season 15-7. Kind of goes to show a hot start in April can allow you to be mediocre the rest of the year and still make the playoffs.
