2016 Cubs catch-all thread
QUOTE (soxfan85 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 02:49 PM) I was watching SportsTalk Live with Kaplan the other day. He asked the panel what was more impressive : 1) The White Sox sweep of Texas or 2) The Cubs taking 3/4 from the Reds paired with the no-hitter. Obviously, they all agreed with the Cubs taking 3/4 from the Reds. After the Cubs beat the Brewers today, I wouldn't be surprised if they said the Cubs taking 2/2 from the Brewers was more impressive than the White Sox going INTO Toronto and kicking their collectives a$$es. I would hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. The Kool-Aid is the sweetest it has ever been. Even when playing complete garbage. lol that's a joke.

Carlos Sanchez up, Robertson to Bereavement
QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 01:22 PM) Beat me to it. WTF guys Nobody's saying he should be forced to pitch through it. Relax man. I didn't even know why he went on it until after I posted.

Well s***. I guess we'll get a look at Nate Jones being closer. How long is the bereavement list? 3 days?

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 10:44 AM) Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 4m4 minutes ago It's raining in Baltimore. Weather app says 25% chance at 7 pm EST, 45% at 8 & 30% from there. Sat night isn't good, either. Sun = horrible. I'd like a rainout please. Then we get to skip Danks again.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 09:21 PM) Haha Jays fan on their board just said he'd "seriously consider" trading Bautista for Eaton 1-1. No s*** you would... They need a lead off hitter pretty badly too.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 10:47 PM) Put this on the bulletin board Q That was Donaldson letting it fly post game. feels good man, for once it's the Sox leaving other teams second guessing themselves and reeling. Quintana has had a good start to the season? Try the last 3 years man... Q's even underrated by his fellow players. SMH.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 09:00 PM) 10 runs given up in 6 games against the Rangers and Jays. Unbelievable. And half of those were in one game...

Great location on the fastballs to Bautista and EE.

Stone brought up tracking how many pitches pitchers throw in certain counts, like when they're behind in the count. Which reminds me of how much he talks about how certain pitches are more stressful than others. Maybe they should come up with a stat called stressful pitches to try and gauge just how much energy a pitcher exerts over the course of the game. Pitch count in itself is sometimes deceiving.

Nice job by Jose to pitch out of that.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 12:35 PM) Rich Hill is starting to look like his crazy 4-start stretch last year wasn't a fluke. Billy Beane's gonna flip him for a decent prospect at the deadline. I can see it already.

2016 Republican Thread
I don't think I could have come up with a more unlikeable duo than Cruz-Fiorina. Nobody in congress likes Cruz (same can be said for a lot of the general population) and I'm pretty sure Fiorina has no soul.

Gotta be greedy when things are going well. Let's get that sweep! Oh and Danks goes tomorrow, so a win would more or less avoid a two game losing streak.

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 10:42 AM) And the Ken Giles trade is up there with the Shelby Miller trade for just remarkably stupid trades that made no sense at the time and are looking terrible in hindsight too. The Giles trade made sense. The Astros has a lot of issues in the bullpen last year. What didn't make sense is how they used him this year...as a setup man instead of a closer. I don't know if that messed him up mentally or what, but he's been awful this year.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 01:02 PM) Current Sox players batting .303/.358/.687 against Dickey. Rollins, Melky, Frazier, Jackson and Abreu have all teed off on him, Abreu has hit 3 HR in just 9 PA, overall this group has hit 9 HR in just 99 AB against Dickey. Source It really depends on which Dickey you get. If he's got the good knuckler going, you never know.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 10:58 AM) I dislike not having csn pitchtracker. Yeah all broadcasts need that (except for ESPN's K Zone overlay, that's unnecessary). I also wouldn't mind having statcast stats (exit velocity, launch angle, etc.) on replays.

So let's talk about the real change this year...
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 10:57 AM) 8 DRS already too, and the eye test definitely backs up both metrics. Some of his reads and jumps are amazing. The triple play the other day was a great example. A mediocre RFer probably doesn't get to that ball without a good jump.
