  1. That's a pretty good trade for both sides actually. Gleyber would be an awful SS though. They might as well play Polanco there again.
  2. For Montas? The Yankees are pretty loaded with starters now that they got Rodon.
  3. Seems like the Sox already moved on to Benintendi
  4. Are they trying to trade Larnach or Kepler then?
  5. 1 year $11 million. Pretty close to that $10 million prediction we saw.
  6. I'm guessing it's either 4 and $64 million or 5 and $75 million. More likely the latter since it sounds like it's that 5th year that's been the sticking point so far.
  7. He's a high floor low ceiling type of guy. I'd bet he never eclipses 3 WAR the next 5 years. But I also doubt he would go under 1.5 WAR unless he's hurt for most of the year. If you're paying him $15 million for 5 years, you're basically betting on him being worth 10 WAR for the next 5 years. That's not a high bar to clear.
  8. Rick Hahn's 4D chess move: overpay a back-end starter that "sets the market" for other mediocre players to make his initial overpay look better. In all seriousness though, it seems like almost every signing is $8 million minimum this year. I don't think Hahn is singlehandedly responsible for that, but I'm sure Matt Boyd would like to thank Hahn for giving Clevinger $12 million.
  9. Benintendi is 28. 5 years for a free agent his age isn't that bad.
  10. I think this means the A's have spent more money on free agents than we have so far.
  11. Jansen can't stay healthy. He had 2 separate hamstring injuries in 2021. We might as well pencil him in for 2 months on the IL if he gets traded here.
  12. I'm gonna go 4 for $64 million.
  13. I'm shocked we haven't acquired Nicky Lopez yet.
  14. It makes me think we gotta overpay for him. I think 4 years and $15 million a year is probably what his market is. The Sox might have to pay a few extra million to get him here.
  15. Jean Segura is projected to get $12-13 million a year. There's no way that's happening for the Sox. There's a better chance of them bringing back Andrus to play 2B.
  16. His GB% did go up in KC last year. Then when he got traded, it went to the lowest of his career. It was definitely a change in approach. FWIW, his splits since he joined KC have favored his numbers on the road by quite a bit. Kaufmann was definitely holding him back.
  17. Here's something to think about when it comes to Benintendi and his power. In 2021, Benintendi hit 17 homers while playing half of his games in KC's giant stadium. His expected HR if he played his games at GRate was 29. Last year, Benintendi hit only 5 homers while playing mostly in KC and a month in Yankee Stadium. Despite a career high BA, his ISO while in KC was only .078. Half of his career ISO. Once he moved to Yankee Stadium, his batting average dropped but his power went back to his career norms with a .149 ISO. It's very evident that Benintendi altered his approach in KC to play to its spacious dimensions. I don't think the drop in power last year was because he lost his power. It was just him tailoring his approach to fit the ballpark he was playing in. I think he goes back to being a 20 home run guy if he plays half of his games at the Rate.
  18. They could be trying to solve the 2B and C issues all at once.
  19. The guy has 55 followers...
  20. That's basically what happened to him in Tampa last year. He was awful for them.
  21. I thought that too but there's a emoji for that specific thing. ?
  22. What does this even mean
  23. It's either Gallo or David Peralta.
  24. Will this encourage him to get in shape this off-season?
