Crawford wouldn't be the worst if LA will pony up $30 million along with him. However, the guy's always hurt and when he does play, he's an alright player. I'd much rather have Kemp, but I have to imagine he'd cost a lot more.

MLBTR via Susan Slusser says Semien, Bassit, and TBD. Beane must like Semien a lot, otherwise he just traded Addison Russel for half a season of Samardzija, Hammel, Semien, and Chris Bassit.

If we do trade Anderson, we better get more than just Samardzija back. I'd love to have Josh Reddick in RF as opposed to Garcia next year. Plus he's a left handed bat you can stick near the bottom of the order to space out our right handed hitters down there. He's also got good pop. He can probably hit 20+ homers with ease at the Cell. Oakland is terrible for hitters. 1. Eaton CF (L) 2. Ramirez SS 3. LaRoche DH (L) 4. Abreu 1B 5. Reddick RF (L) 6. Garcia LF 7. Gillaspie 3B (L) 8. Semien 2B 9. Flowers C

Anyone but Anderson is my motto here. Semien's a nice player, but I think he's expendable, but I have a hard time saying the same with Anderson.

Brantly actually had a good year at the plate in 2012.

That's pretty damn cheap for a guy who we know can at least play a big league OF. 3 He can improve He may be 29 but he also hasn't been in MLB for long. Most players are not Jose Abreu, it takes them time to figure the thing out. The Sox would be buying low on a guy with great athleticism and a very nice power bat, if the OBP even climbs above .340 Cespedes is probably a 3-4 WAR corner OF. I know it's cliche, but playing with Abreu and Alexei could really help him. He gets along with them (unlike Puig). 4. No commitment If it doesn't work, well, he's gone at the end of the year. A comparable FA signing bust would create an albatross the org just has to wait out. But! If it works the Sox gain the inside track on locking him up long term at the end of next season, effectively solving the corner OF hole. It's not a win/win, but at least it's not the kind of commitment that really holds the org back. There's no way in hell I'm giving up Hawkins for 1 year of Cespedes.
