Sox New ST Uniforms
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) The one in the online shop doesn't look quite right: http://shop.mlb.com/Chicago_White_Sox_New_...IFTY_Fitted_Hat That one's different. The ST ones are made of the sports fabric or whatever they call it.

Rockies Trade Dickerson to Rays
QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 03:05 PM) They didn't have a closer. Do now Yeah, but they're not gonna win anything. Why trade a good piece like Dickerson for something you have no need for ATM? There's gotta be a subsequent deal to this.

Sox New ST Uniforms
Love that cap. I'm gonna have to get one.

Rockies Trade Dickerson to Rays
Rosenthal thought this trade made no sense for the Rockies a few days a go. They have no use for McGee...

Sox should trade for Andre Ethier
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 10:27 AM) For that price, just sign the much younger everyday player in Upton. And, if he's sitting against lefties with that salary, it's almost like paying him $24-25 million. We had the same problem with Cabrera last year as well. A Thome-like subsidy to cut his contract down to $12-14 million, it starts to make more sense. It's 2 years vs. 6 though...

Sox should trade for Andre Ethier
Just looked over his stats the past few years and you're right. Good OBP, decent power, won't kill you in the OF. $36.5 million over the next two years isn't terrible. We can probably get him for almost nothing as well, considering it's more or less a salary dump.

Fangraphs WAR projections for Sox
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 27, 2016 -> 11:14 AM) Those ERA projections for Quintana and Rodon are laughable. Quintana sure, but I think that's where Rodon is expected to be ATM. His walk rate is still a bit high.

Fangraphs WAR projections for Sox
We've got one guy who's projected to break .350 wOBA. Yuck.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 27, 2016 -> 10:39 AM) Obviously this is for pure discussion, but interesting none the less. https://twitter.com/jon_greenberg/status/692386136505847808 We can all dream.

Fangraphs WAR projections for Sox
QUOTE (Baron @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 03:56 PM) That's pretty generous for Garcia Generous for LaRoche too. Surprised to see Avila and Navarro with 3 WAR at catcher. Also Saladino at 2 WAR...wow.

Official "Making a Murderer" Thread
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 02:23 PM) This is more or less the theory I have about what happened (from a random internet post I was emailed): The funniest thing is that that theory (one of the best ones I've seen) came from a YouTube comments section.

2015-2016 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 10:15 AM) How great can they be, the Bulls have owned the Raptors and by your accounts the Bulls aren't any good. J4L will s*** on the Bulls long before any other team.

Encarnacion isn't really a 1B. He played 59 games there last year.

Cespedes Re-signs with the Mets
You know, if it didn't seem that we were so close to actually getting him, I wouldn't even care if he signed with anyone else.

Cespedes Re-signs with the Mets
QUOTE (TheCut87 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 09:49 PM) I don't think Boras represents Cespedes. Oops. Point still stands though. I don't think trying to low-ball Cespedes is going to make him more likely to sign. Especially when Upton just got a 6 year deal and is only 2 years younger. Even Gordon got a 4 year deal.

Cespedes Re-signs with the Mets
Does the FO seriously think the 3 year crap will sit well with Boras? Why would Cespedes want to enter free agency at 33? It makes no sense for him to take a deal that's less than 4 years unless you're willing to pay him $30 million a year.

Rabbit's giving us some Bernie side-eye maybe?

Cespedes Re-signs with the Mets
QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 10:43 AM) I don't think the Mets have the money to get it done. He is using the Mets and the Nationals to drive up the price for the Sox and maybe someone else comes into the fold last minute on a gut move to sign him. I feel like the Nationals are the biggest threat here. They probably have more money to spend than we do.

Cespedes Re-signs with the Mets
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) Mibelt Rodriguez @MibeltRodriguez 3m3 minutes ago Update: #Mets, #Nationals and #WhiteSox are the finalists to signing OF Yoenis Cespedes. A decision is expected within next 24-48 hours. How credible is this guy? His Twitter looks somewhat legit given his # of followers, but has he actually broken any news before?

Cespedes Re-signs with the Mets
Ugh. I feel like we waited too long. Now that Cespedes is the only one left, his demands can only go up.

2015-2016 NFL Thread
QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 10:52 PM) I truly believes that if Rodgers got to play with more skilled players, he would have won multiple SB's. The best receiver he's played with is probably Jordy Nelson, and best running back would be Lacy or Ryan Grant, and he never really had a pass catching tight end (it's partly the system he plays in), but gosh, that isn't an impressive list at all. Jermichael Finley?

2015-2016 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 10:49 PM) So, one of the rules of QB play is that you never throw across your body to the opposite side of the field, right? Isn't that what analysts say every time a QB throws an INT on a play like Palmer to Fitzgerald in OT? Oh, it was successful? Great play then! I always laugh at the inconsistency of the criticism by analysts. Successful result = good play. Unsuccessful result = bad play. Great ending. I'm a Bears fan. Respect/don't hate the Packers. I find it really hard to root against Rodgers, but I'm glad the Packers lost. Well I think it's ok when there's literally no one else on that side of the field. Edit: are you talking about the Palmer throw or Rodgers' throw?

So where does this rank among the greatest playoff games of all time? I know that most of this game wasn't all that interesting, but the last 2 minutes and OT were absolutely insane.

2015-2016 NFL Thread
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 10:38 PM) That is pathetic by the Packers D after you tie it up on the hail mary. To be fair, they almost got to Palmer. The play more or less broke down since all the receivers were so far down the field along with the DBs. Palmer did an incredible job of extending the play.
