  1. Wow! What a run by Fitzgerald! This game is crazy.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 10:33 PM) Two guys were there and lost the jump ball and Rodgers got rid of it early. I don't fault the call, I fault the dbs for not taking the ball like a mother. You cannot allow a WR to get that. There should be 3-4 guys swarming the receiver in that situation. Instead, there were only 2.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 10:32 PM) So even the coin toss is controversial The fix is on!
  4. I can't believe the Cardinals brought pressure on that play. I don't care if you're in dime or quarter. You have to play prevent there. There clearly weren't enough DBs back to cover that pass.
  5. I can't believe that ball didn't hit the ground at all when he lost control of it. Crazy.
  6. Wut? Jesus Christ!
  7. lol wow Rodgers. They didn't even get set.
  8. Holy s*** Jeff Janis.
  9. Oof another possible PI call. If you're a Cardinals DB, you absolutely cannot start holding people on long passes like that.
  10. Terrible clock management.
  11. That was definitely a PI.
  12. Wow, that's a ton of luck for the Cardinals on that drive. 2 first downs by a chainlink, Shields missing a pick 6, and Floyd catching a TD on a deflection.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) 3.5 fWAR the year before that and his strikeout rate and walk rate both improved in 2015 (he threw fewer innings which FG weights pretty heavily and his HR rate skyrocketed). I wouldn't have done it, if I were spending that money I'd have spent it earlier this offseason when there were better options, but there's some logic here. 5 WAR over the last 3 years in a good pitcher's park. You can maybe argue he's an average starter. I don't think $14 million/year is necessarily the issue, it's the fact that they gave him $70 million guaranteed.
  14. lol 0.8 WAR last year and he gets $14 million a year for 5 years. This market...
  15. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 12:25 AM) Talk about putting the team on your back. He probably should have scored a few more. There were a couple of fouls that didn't get called when he went to the rim and still got the bucket.
  16. It's a shame that Rose is no longer the player he used to be. We'd have a real shot of winning it all if we had MVP Rose with this Jimmy Butler. Jimmy was the guy we needed back in 2011.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 10:03 PM) Abreu and Frazier get you 60, but the rest of the team gets you what... another 60? I mean, Eaton is literally our 3rd best home run hitter. I'd say Lawrie should be good for 15-20. You'll probably get 15 out of the catcher platoon. Melky should be good for 12-15. Eaton should be good for 12-15. Those 4 alone can get you 60. I'm not saying we don't need anymore power. I just feel like on base percentage is a bigger need than power for this team.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 09:39 PM) We do not have a decent amount of power. Abreu and Frazier alone can account for 60. We're not going to lead the league in homers or anything, but I think we have enough power to compete as is. We're probably better off getting a guy who is good at getting on base with decent power as opposed to someone who can hit 30 bombs, but might only get on at a .300 clip.
  19. I honestly think Fowler + SS + Starting pitcher is better than just getting Cespedes. It'd be nice to get a big bat, but we have a decent amount of power as is. To get a guy who can hit you 15-20 homers, get on at .350-.375 clip, and play CF somewhat adequately would be huge. Getting a SS and another starter to sure up the rotation also makes your team much more well rounded.
  20. Our defense is dreadful.
  21. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 11:11 AM) I kinda think if they decide to sign Raburn, he'd be part of a platoon in LF possibly taking them out of Cespedes. And then he'll hit .350 against us and screw us out of at least 2-3 games.
  22. That's 6 straight for the Bulls. Rose looked good.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 02:38 PM) 670 The Score ‏@670TheScore 56m56 minutes ago Derrick Rose is a gametime decision Tuesday after MRI on his right leg comes back clean: http://cbsloc.al/1MPBAOo I think Rose is just paranoid at this point. Any kind of discomfort in his leg and he's afraid it's something serious again.
  24. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:45 PM) 8 against 6.5 isn't much. 8 and 5 is. You're more likely to get 5% from him in the future unless he changes his approach. Edit: FWIW, over 600 PAs, 1.5% is 9 walks. 3% is 18 walks. That is a sizable difference.
