I'm not sure what the Rays are doing if the main pieces they get back are O'Neill and Martinez. O'Neill's a decent ML-ready prospect and Martinez is a mediocre DH. I don't know how those 2 warrant a 20 year old top 50 pitching prospect. There's gotta be more to it.

I realize that. The metric pretty much only measures range for outfielders since I don't think they take throwing into account (I could be wrong on that). But from what I've read so far it's most likely more accurate than the range portion of UZR and DRS.

He's still bad at -7. Just not completely terrible like Eloy. I had no idea Rosario and Tommy Pham were even bad fielders tbh.

Cishek got overused by Maddon last year and was brutal before he finally got put on the DL for a hip injury. He came back and did a bit better in September but struggled with control. Hopefully he's closer to his 2019 first half production with us. Our bullpen depth should allow Ricky to use him less. Here's to hoping Marshall keeps outpitching his peripherals and Herrera doesn't completely suck.

Kimbrel is going to continue declining. He's a 2 pitch pitcher whose fastball got absolutely clobbered last year despite only losing 1 MPH on it. It could be that last year was an anamoly and that he can bounce back. But he got barreled up 20% of the time and gave up 92 MPH EV. He deserved to get crushed last year, it wasn't bad luck. Most of the damage came on fastballs, which is even more concerning. If he continues to lose more velocity it'll be hard for him to live up to that contract of his. Even if he corrects whatever he was doing wrong last year.

I didn't look at the DRS numbers till now, but holy crap. UZR wasn't as mean to him.

The Rangers might actually want him to play 3B full-time as opposed to OF. I'm not sure if you're better off hiding him in a corner OF spot or 3B.

Stammen re-signed with the Padres

The problem I see with Cishek is that he got absolutely lit up in the 2nd half of last year. His ERA didn't show it, but his peripherals were terrible. There is a lot to like about him though. His statcast numbers on EV and Hard Hit % are excellent and he's been pretty consistent throughout the years.

I hope this doesn't take the Nats out of the Donaldson sweepstakes.

If money is around the same I have a hard time seeing him leave Atlanta.

I feel like the Cardinals and Twins get the most out of their guys. Shit just goes right for those orgs no matter what and it's annoying af.

One more thing on Bailey: he had a ERA near 6 and an FIP over 5 on the road when he wasn't pitching in KC and Oakland. Those are 2 of the friendliest parks for HR and run suppression. Target field is more neutral albeit still a pitchers park. It's just interesting how drastic his splits were.

Had the Sox whiffed on Keuchel and Ryu, Bailey probably would have been the consolation prize. Knowing the Twins, he'll be pretty good next year somehow. However history tells us that he's pretty damn bad as a pitcher despite last year's decent season.

I really don't see the Twins committing $100 million for a 34 year old 3B. They're cheaper than we are.

Twins fans should be weary. They overachieved last year and their true talent is not 101 wins. FanGraphs' projections indicate that. That's where the author of that article has it so wrong. That and he assumed our bad players were replacement level somehow (they weren't). Right now the Twins are an 88 win team according to the FanGraphs Depth Charts. Like you said the Sox are 3 wins behind at 85. The Sox aren't done yet and we can easily close that gap further with some bullpen signings. Plus we have 3 big young pieces in Kopech, Robert, and Madrigal who can easily outproduce their projections. The Twins don't exactly have that. Our ceiling is sky high and the signings we made this off-season really solidify our floor.
