We should bat Austin Jackson leadoff
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 03:54 PM) Making the lineup: Jackson Eaton Abreu Frazier Cabrera Garcia Lawrie Rollins///Navarro Avila///Rollins Why? Well, I think Jackson has looked great so far, especially today in the leadoff spot. He has a great approach, and if today's game was played under normal weather conditions, Jackson would easily have 2-3 home runs. Moving Eaton to second gives us a .290-.300 hitter with a high OBP and some decent pop (14 HRs in 2015) in the #2 spot. They both get on base well, which would provide for more RBI opportunities for Abreu/Frazier, in theory. I'm willing to bet that Jackson finishes 2016 with a higher OBP than Rollins, so Rollins in the 2 spot makes the 1-2 collective OBP worse than what it would be with Jackson batting there, and moving Rollins down could end up being beneficial in its own way. Bottom line, it would give Abreu and Frazier more RBI opportunities. Thoughts? With how poor some of Rollins' at bats are, I would agree with this. Eaton is one of our best hitters, hitting him second is hugely beneficial. Jackson's approach this year has been great. Very patient, gets the pitcher into deep counts. He looks like he has some issues catching up to good movement and velocity though.

4/9 Game thread: Cleveland, 1:10pm, WGN/WLS
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 03:51 PM) Albers is in the zone. En fuego. He's feelin' it. Great movement + 94 MPH is nearly unhittable.

QUOTE (RaySox @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) I'm really enjoying Stone and Benetti Benetti is a breath of fresh air. I heard him mention WAR and batted ball velocity today. Hawk would never bring any of that up.

And can we stop throwing Duke out when we're up by 4 for one batter? It's pointless.

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 05:18 PM) He most likely won't ever be the same again. Bummer. I hate the Cubs, but it sucks to see him get injured. It's not like his game is based on speed... He'll still hit, but they're going to have a really hard time finding a position for him. He was already bad in left field, but he probably can't play outfield ever again. It's hard to put a guy who just had a devastating knee injury back at catcher anytime soon. He might have to convert to 1B or 3B.

I know nobody cares about my fantasy team, but I had Schwarber as my catcher. Good thing the Cubs signed Fowler eh?

OVA! 3-1 is a good start to the year. Easily could have been 4-0 or 2-2 though.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 05:31 PM) Surprised Hendriks hasn't been pulled yet, but their bullpen has pitched a lot this series. He's out there until he gets the third out.

Hitting is contagious. Even the guys who were struggling are teeing off.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 05:27 PM) Eaton is on fire. He must be a double agent because he's playing like he hates Drake Laroche. He's trying his hardest to avenge the loss of Drake.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 05:26 PM) I feel like if we had the same roster we had last year, we'd leave Oakland 1-3 as opposed to 3-1. Considering Frazier and Rollins basically won us the second game, yeah.

Navarro's a prime double play candidate. Which is why I would have liked Jackson to score there.
