  1. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 02:19 PM) This ESPN article brings the hilarity on multiple levels. I love this though: LaRoche wasn't interested in knowing Drake's grades at all, just how he treated classmates and teachers. He then goes on to say "I tell everybody we weren't smart enough for anything else," Adam says. "For the LaRoches, it was baseball or nothin'." Too f***ing funny. Good f***ing riddance. lol the classic "I'm not smart so my kids are stupid too" line of thought. Great parenting...
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 01:23 PM) Disappointed Saul wasn't bumped up to 13 episodes, but oh well. It's awesome and should ramp up on awesomeness the next couple seasons. On a separate note, the Jackie Robinson doc on PBS is must see. You'll learn a couple things you didn't know. It occurred to me that since they show Saul working at the Cinnabon in Nebraska at the start of the season, they have to go through the events of Breaking Bad to come full circle. Knowing Gilligan, he might actually do that. We might be looking at 4-5 seasons here.
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 01:18 PM) To give a non-sarcastic response, it's not that we dislike him for his lack of performance last year, it's that we dislike him for dragging this whole situation out, making a big deal about it, promoting anti-Sox articles, and basically just trying to make the organization look bad. I was ready to give LaRoche a fresh start this year coming out of ST. Sure he sucked last year, but I don't think him hitting .275 with 30 homers would have made us a playoff team or anything. So he wasn't the only reason we failed. If anything, the projections all had him going in for a rebound year. Then the whole Drake LaRoche thing happened.
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) There would be a lot more people who like to discriminate against gay people and kill animals for fun that's for sure. Deer would be nearly extinct if everyone was like Adam LaRoche.
  5. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 12:38 PM) http://www.csnchicago.com/bulls/overcalcul...ng-bulls-season In that Vincent Goodwill piece, it talks about the Kings/Bulls deadline deal that didn't happen and also about how Bulls/Celtics talked about a Butler trade but the Bulls insisted on Jae Crowder and Boston balked. Interesting stuff. Crowder's turned into a good player this year, but I don't think he's near Jimmy's level yet. Sure there were other parts to the deal, but I think Boston missed out on a pretty good trade there. I sure as hell wouldn't have been happy trading Butler. We finally developed a good wing player and we want to trade him away cause he didn't like the coach and maybe rubbed some players the wrong way? The NBA's a superstar league, and Jimmy's as close to that as we have right now. There's no way we should be letting a rookie head coach or a couple of over the hill veterans determine his importance to this franchise.
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 11:00 AM) How much of the Butler being a leader / rubbing people the wrong way is an issue because of Jimmy vs. an issue because guys who were better and were used to being better than him aren't now and thus, a little jealous / still look at him as the little guy. http://nba.nbcsports.com/2016/04/12/report..._medium=twitter You think about Jimmy and how he took Dougy under his win. You think about him playing hard and putting in tons of work and leading by example from that perspective. Two major, positive checks from a "leadership" perspective. On the flip side, you think of him publicly calling out Fred, that would be a knock. I've seen some comments from MJD which talk about his concerns on offense. I've always thought MJD was a pretty astute guy and he basically said he's not sure how they will figure out how to solve the offense. Not sure if that is a shot at either Butler / Rose / Hoiberg or more just a shot that the way they play, it just isn't going to work together. Maurice Jones Drew?
  7. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 11:15 AM) Sounds like Adam LaRoche is getting out in front of a story that could develop in the future. -"I was only in Bangkok to help those sex workers" -"I brought my friend because he believes in the cause too....right, Blaine? You 'believe in the cause' he he" -"Those videos were for compiling evidence!" -"She said she was 18!" How do we know she was a she? You never know in Thailand.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) Ha, we've found our 5th starter. Not sure I'd want Bauer as our 5th starter. FWIW, I think we're one of the teams he's actually good against. Everyone else has the patience not to swing at his junk pitches.
  9. So he went to Bangkok in November of 2015? Good grief...how did the Sox allow him to do something dangerous like that?
  10. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 01:28 PM) Wow cubs fans on a new low saying the Sox announced Schwaber's season ending injury on the PA and Sox fans were cheering tottaly false story. The author Jamie Baker a writer for Sportsmockery not a website a blog http://chicagostylesports.com/white-sox-fans-dipped-new-low/ Some Cubs fans can't wait till Sale's elbow blows up.
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 10:03 PM) Dumbest trade of this century....Samardzija Addison Russell trade. Oh Billy f***ing Beane That trade screwed us over too...god damn it Billy Beane.
  12. Looks like the Indians are carrying their own Drake LaRoche
  13. QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 06:29 PM) If Danks can reach 91 - 92 on his fast ball, and keep his change up down, he can get a lot of guys out. He had a lot of very good starts last year, especially in the second half. I didn't watch his first start. What was his velocity? He hit 91 in the first. He made a couple of poor pitches to Kipnis and Lindor and ended up getting in trouble.
  14. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) lmao "that fat boy can move" Looks like it lmao
  15. Robertson didn't go with the knee high socks...new trend's working out so far. Twins are also 0-7 to start the year. Let's enjoy that while we can.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 06:19 PM) Not sure how Nunez missed that pitch It's hard to hit when it's not straight.
  17. Well, not scoring that 5th run allows Robertson to come in in a save situation.
  18. Lawrie looks an awful lot like Beckham up there sometimes. Problems with high fastballs.
  19. Frazier took his time getting to third lol
  20. There we go Frazier! Rosario misplayed that ball.
  21. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 06:01 PM) I think the radar gun my be a tick off Yeah Jones was definitely throwing harder than 94-96.
  22. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 06:02 PM) Has the HP umpire been bad all day? Pretty bad. Twins' only run can be attributed to a somewhat weird strike zone. We've had a few strikes called that were well inside.
  23. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 05:57 PM) Why didnt Mauer let Duke walk him? Maybe he hasn't been watching Duke lately lol.
